Michael Kildow
DEXTER -- Michael Kildow, 50, of Essex, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Center in Dexter.
Mr. Dowdy was born Jan. 26, 1952, in Malden. He was a set-up person at Arvin Meritor Automotive for 27 years.
On June 21, 1986, he married
Sandra Dowdy in Essex.. She survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Tonya Wilson of Aid; three sisters, Carlotta Bailey, Betty Kildow and Deborah Goldsmith, all of Malden; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mike Brown of Essex. Burial will be in Essex cemetery in Essex.
Thelma Stephens
PUXICO -- Thelma Stephens, 85, of Puxico, formerly of McGee, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at Saint Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. Stephens was born June 6, 1917, in McGee. She was a member of Brown General Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, going to church and singing in the choir.
On April 2, 1938, she married
Oren Stephens in Bloomfield. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Keith Stephens of Jackson and Gary Stephens of St. Peters; one daughter, Jean Placher of Puxico; three sisters, Edna Barks of Puxico, Lois Wilfong of McGee and Mary J. Barks of Cahokia, Ill.; two brothers, Henry Rodgers of Tulelake, Calif., and Pete Rodgers of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at Morgan-Sifford Funeral Home in Puxico. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Brown General Baptist Church with the Rev. John Buttry officiating. Burial will be in Brown General Baptist Church cemetery.
Ashlee Reeser
GREENVILLE -- Ashlee Reeser, 20, of Greenville, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, as the result of an auto accident in Wayne County.
Funeral arrangements are pending with Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel in Greenville.
Alice Watson
MALDEN -- Alice L. Watson, 95, of Hollister, died Monday, April 14, 2003, at her residence.
Mrs. Watson was born Jan. 23, 1908, in Flowerlake, Miss. She was a member of New Life Temple in Hollister.
Survivors include six sons, William Shan of Moberly, J. C. Watson and Robert Watson, both of Malden, Henry Watson of Oglesby, Ill., Gavie Watson of Utica, Ill., and Wayne Watson of Hollister; four daughters, Novella Taylor of Hollister, Ruby Parks of Malden, Ruth Ruby of Branson and Mary Haney of Springfield; 47 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at noon until 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of God in Malden. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary with the Rev. James Wampler officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park cemetery in Malden. Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden is in charge of arrangements.
Darrell Hunter, Jr.
Darrell Ross Hunter, Jr., 43, of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Hunter was born Oct. 8, 1959, in Dexter and was disabled. He was a former minister and a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Poplar Bluff.
Survivors include his mother, Carolyn S. Pennington of Poplar Bluff; and two sisters, Rema Revelle and Rachel Brooks, both of Poplar Bluff.
Visitation will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A graveside funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Brown Chapel cemetery in Broseley with the Rev. Eddy Sisco officiating.
Anna Polk
Anna Esther Polk, 82, of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Miss Polk was born May 2, 1921, in Bismarck, the daughter of the late Samuel Edgar and Ollie Ival (Layton) Polk. She was a retired attendant for the Missouri-Pacific Dining Car Co., and a member of the First Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff.
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Alta Polk of Poplar Bluff; and three nephews, Thomas Glenwood Warren of The Woodlands, Texas, Sam Warren of Texarkana, Texas, and Jim Warren of Rogers, Ark.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert "Bob" Polk, Samuel Polk, and Tom Polk; and one sister, Mary Polk Warren.
Visitation will begin at 7 tonight at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. William Vail officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Kenneth A. Sowul
DONIPHAN - Kenneth A. Sowul, 66, of Doniphan died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at his home. He was born March 16, 1935, in Chicago, Ill. He moved to Ripley County from Park City, Ill.
Mr. Sowul was a retired lineman for a telephone company. He served in the U.S. Air Force four years and attended St. Anne Catholic Church in Grandin.
He married
Carrol Ann Sowul Feb. 23, 1991, in Waukegan, Ill. She preceded him in death.
Survivors are one son, Shawn Sowul, of Antioch, Ill.; one daughter, Cynthia Apolo of Paddock Lake, Wis.; three stepdaughters, Karen Sowul of Antioch, Ill., Debora Bokan of Zion, Ill., and Sherry Reitz of Milwaukee, Wisc.; one sister, Gloria Wunderlich of Lake Caroll, Ill.; and several grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Grandin with the Rev. David Dohogne officiating.
Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan is in charge of arrangements.
Cherie Hardin
CAMPBELL -- Cherie Nicole Campbell Hardin, 21, of Campbell died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Ms. Hardin was born June 30, 1980, in Norfolk, Va. She was affiliated with the Protestant faith and was employed by Vancil's Grocery Store.
Survivors include one son, Spencer Hardin of Piggott, Ark.; her mother and stepfather, Tammy and Mike Cooper of Campbell; one sister, Paula Jankowski of Campbell; and her grandparents, Joy and Lou Talley and Pat and Lefty Cooper, all of Malden.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bob Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn cemetery-Landess Addition in Campbell.
Irene Robinson
SAGINAW, Mich. -- Irene (Robinson) Williams, 44, of Riverdale, Ill., formerly of Poplar Bluff, died Monday, July 29, 2002, at the University of Chicago Hospital in Chicago.
Mrs. Williams was born Dec. 1, 1957, in Parma. She was a member of the Kings Community Church in Riverdale.
She was married
to Darrell Williams. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Darrell Robinson of Richton Park, Ill., and Kendrick Robinson of Oak Forest, Ill.; four brothers, Lucious Roberson, Roosevelt Robinson, Robert Robinson and Curtis Robinson, all of Saginaw, Mich.; nine sisters, Everlean Scott of Saginaw, Virginia and Geraldine Harley, both of Poplar Bluff, Janie Brackett of Shreveport, La., Hattie Wilson and Shelia Robinson, both of Killee'n, Texas, Martha Mitchell of Arlington, Texas and Janice Robinson and Charlotte Riley, both of Apple Valley, Minn.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Evans Funeral Home in Saginaw. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Spiritual Israel Church in Saginaw with Bishop Bobby J. Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Lawn cemetery in Saginaw.
Dorothy L. Cowart
CORNING, Ark. -- Dorothy Louise Cowart, 56, of Corning, Ark., died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002.
Mrs. Cowart was born April 1, 1946. She was a member of Cache River Pentecostal Church. She was a production worker at Basler Electric.
On Dec. 20, 1972, she married
Samuel R. Cowart, Sr. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Samuel R. Cowart Jr. of Rockford, Ill., and Michael W. Cowart of Corning, Ark.; two stepsons, Arnold R. Cowart and Timmy J. Cowart, both of Dexter; one stepdaughter, Lorrie A. Cowart of Springfield; two sisters, Betty Jean Price of Walnut Ridge, Ark., and Delores Ann Kirk of Rockford, Ill.; two grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning, Ark. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, at the funeral home with the Rev. Rick Hart officiating. Burial will be in Corning cemetery.
Betty Talley
ADVANCE -- Betty R. Talley, 67, of South Roxana, Ill., died Monday, April 14, 2003, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, Ill.
Mrs. Talley was born June 4, 1935, in Zalma. She was a homemaker.
On Nov. 14, 1953, she married
Russell Eugene Talley. He preceded her in death Dec. 6, 1983.
Survivors include one son, Darrell Talley of Bunker Hill, Ill.; one daughter, Pat Bruner of South Roxana; three brothers, Raymond Campbell of Springfield, Ill., Gilbert Campbell of Delhi, Ill., and Willard Campbell of Hettick, Ill.; one sister, Jessie Gulley of Scott City; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park at Marble Hill.
