Francis "Nadine" Moudy Allred
(November 17, 1925 - May 20, 2015)
Francis “Nadine” Moudy Allred was born on November 17, 1925, to Earl and Florence (Perkins) Moudy.
Nadine passed away on May 20, 2015, in Springfield, Missouri at Mercy Hospital, at the age of 89 years, 6 months, and 3 days. Nadine was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lavern, Morris and Ervin Moudy and one sister, Doris Ash.
Nadine received her education in the State of Oklahoma, and Gunter School House near Butterfield, Missouri.
On April 5, 1952, she was united in marriage to Everett H. Allred in Bentonville, Arkansas, he survives. Also surviving are two sons, Johnny Allred and wife Melody of Purdy, Missouri and Pastor Ronnie Allred and wife Esther of Moberly, Missouri. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Michael and wife Karen of Miami, Florida, Pastor Kevin and wife Olga of Hallsville, Missouri, Rachel and husband Colin of London Ontario, Canada, Wesley and wife Carri of Parkville, Missouri, Travis of Overland Park, Kansas and Benjamin of Parkville, Missouri; five great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren and one step great-great grandchild. Also surviving is one sister, Wilma Jean Davis and her husband, Bob of Carthage, Missouri. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Nadine loved cooking. Her hobbies included gardening, quilting, crocheting and fishing. Nadine was a Faithful Child of God. She faithfully attended Log Church of God (Holiness) as long as her health permitted.
Nadine will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 25, 2015, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Ralph Wheeler and Carolyn McNabb will conduct the services. Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday in Log Church Memorial Gardens, Butterfield, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

William A. "Bill" Lock
(November 24, 1944 - May 23, 2015)
William A. “Bill” Lock, age 70, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 23, at home with his family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born November 24, 1944, in El Dorado, Kansas the son of the late George W. and Alice L. (Thompson) Lock. On June 29, 1968, in Newton, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Joella Scott who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Melanie Lock of Shell Knob, Missouri, and Annora Lock of Kimberling City, Missouri, and one brother Robert ‘Bob’ Lock of Shell Knob, Missouri and many nieces and nephews.
Growing up in Newton, Kansas, he attended and graduated from Newton High School in 1963. He then studied at El Dorado Junior College in El Dorado, Kansas. Bill was a partner in Century Clothing for many years in Newton, and after moving his family to Shell Knob in 1977, he worked as an Independent Sales Representative in the clothing business and later in the marine industry. He and his wife, Joella owned and operated a clothing store in Shell Knob and were co-creators of The Knob Rock Rattler. For many years he was a very active member of the Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce.
Bill was a member of the Shell Knob Shrine Club and Abou Ben Adhem Temple in Springfield, Missouri where in 2002, he served as Potentate. He was also on the Board of Directors for the Shriners Hospital for Children of Mexico City, Mexico.
He enjoyed using his creative skills to work on projects in the community and enjoyed boating, camping and was an avid NASCAR fan. Bill was a member of the Central Community United Methodist Church in Shell Knob. He was dedicated to his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service with Masonic Rites will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 28 in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob, Missouri. Reverend Teressa Clyde will conduct the services.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M Thursday, in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
Contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children or The American Cancer Society in memory of Bill.

Reva Dessie Allen
(September 4, 1928 - May 23, 2015)
Reva Dessie (McCarter) Allen of Viola, Missouri, daughter of Clifford and Eugenia McCarter was born on September 4, 1928, in Sevierville, Tennessee and departed this life peacefully in her home on May 23, 2015, at the age of 86 surrounded by family and friends.
Reva was a life-long resident of the Viola area, coming from Tennessee with her family as a young child. Reva was married
to Olen Allen on November 19, 1949. Reva and Olen spent their lives together, working side by side on their farms enjoying fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities. In later years, one of Reva’s favorite pastimes was whittling. She attended the Viola Baptist Church and loved to go to the Blue Eye, McCarter/Reagan and Allen Reunions to visit with community family and friends.
Reva was preceded in death by her husband, Olen Allen; her sister, Connie Barnes of Hoyt, Oklahoma; her brother, Ross McCarter of Reeds Spring, Missouri and her granddaughter, Angela LeAnn Allen of Highlandville, Missouri.
Reva is survived by a daughter, Neva Chrisman and her husband, Charles of La Russell, Missouri; three sons, Leon Allen and his wife, Sherry of Highlandville, Missouri, Dervid Allen and his wife, Cindy of Galena, Missouri and Darrell Allen and his wife, Laura of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; two sisters, Barbara Bass of Longtown, Oklahoma and Ruby Dell Robertson of Ozark, Missouri; two brothers, David McCarter and his wife, Reba of Ozark, Missouri and Ralph McCarter and his wife, Marie of Whitsett, North Carolina; eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Graveside services and interment will be held at McGuire cemetery at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 26, 2015, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob, with Pastor Tom Taylor officiating.

Allen D. Hilbert

Allen D. Hilbert, age 81, of Exeter, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015, in Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation, Cassville, Missouri.
He was born January 28, 1934, in Claremore, Oklahoma, the son of Robert and Linda (Cochran) Hilbert. On June 19, 1954, in Springfield, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Halla Richmond, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Bill Hilbert and his wife, Barbara of Pierce City, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Hilbert of Golden City, Missouri; one sister, Viola Taylor of Modesto, California; nine grandchildren, Chris, Tim and Andrew Hilbert, James Hilbert and his wife, Rose, John Hilbert, Steven Hilbert and his wife, Shay, Delbert Hilbert and his wife Victoria, Tommy Hilbert and his wife, Julie and Davey Hilbert; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, David Hilbert; one brother Gene Hilbert and one sister, Sylvia Robinson.
Allen grew up and received his education in California and moved to Missouri at the age of 20. For several years he was employed at EFCO. He was of the Baptist faith. On March 5, 1960, he was honorably discharged, after serving in the United States Army National Guard. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing and tinkering and was known as Mr. Fix It. He especially enjoyed spending time with family.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 28, 2015, in Stella Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until service time Thursday in the church.
Cremation arrangements are under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.

Betty Jean McCrary
(February 11, 1924 - May 27, 2015)
Betty Jean McCrary passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the K.C. Hospice House on May 27, 2015 at the age of 91.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years William S. McCrary; eldest son John S. McCrary; sisters Hilda Saljoin, Rhea Mayhugh and adoptive parents John and Clara Roberts.
Betty is lovingly remembered by her children Glen McCrary and wife Sondra of Belton, MO, her daughter Tracee Dock and partner Paul Snare of Kansas City, MO; and her daughter-in- law Darla McCrary and Darla’s daughter Larina of Winchester VA.
Her grandchildren, Stephen, Kevin and Elizabeth, all McCrarys, Aubree (Adam) Keck and Lauren Dock; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Will and Emily, all McCrary, Brendan Killian, Allison Dock, and Theodore Keck; Niece Lonna Mayhugh (Mike) Smittle.
Betty was born in Kansas City, MO on February 11, 1924. She graduated from Harrisonville High in Harrisonville, MO in 1941, and immediately married
the love of her life William (Bill) McCrary. Bill served in the U.S. Army during WWII and Betty accompanied him to California where she lived and worked with other military wives while the “boys” were overseas. Betty and Bill returned to live in Kansas City until 1976, when they retired to the beautiful Ozark hills in Cassville, MO. Betty moved to Belton, MO in 2011.
Betty loved and excelled at her role as a mother and a homemaker. She also enjoyed helping her neighbors and friends, sewing, reading and 1940’s vintage music. Other favorite things included watching Wheel of Fortune, bird watching, walking with her Cassville friends and her daily luncheons with her new Carnegie Village friends.
Betty’s family and friends will remember her for her compassionate and caring personality. She cared about what was important to others and could always see the good in everyone she met. She always seemed to know when a loved one would benefit from a warm smile, a gentle touch or a loving hug.
As we celebrate our time with Betty she would ask only that we share her optimistic outlook on life and remember her very favorite saying, “Life goes on.”
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June, 2, 2015, in Oak Hill cemetery, Cassville, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 A.M. Tuesday in Fohn Funeral Home.

Mary Lou Newman
(August 5, 1921 - May 29, 2015)
Mary Lou Newman, age 93, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015, in Cassville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born August 5, 1921, in Forsyth, Missouri, the daughter of Samuel Jesse and Trella Belle (Gard) Wheeler. On July 13, 1939, in Galena, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Earl Edward Newman, who preceded her in death on December 22, 1984. Also preceding her in death were one son, Ernest Newman; one daughter, Patty Holden; one grandson, Danny Fortner; one great grandson, Michael Asher and three brothers, Sam Wheeler, Jack Sharp and Don Wheeler.
Surviving are three sons, John Newman and his wife, Rose of Exeter, Missouri, Don Newman and his wife, Linda of Cassville, Missouri and Ronald “Freck” Newman of Exeter, Missouri; four daughters, Marilyn Fortner of Cape Fair, Missouri, Earlene Harber and her husband, Bill of Reeds Spring, Missouri, Carol Cook and her husband, Lee of Pierce City, Missouri and Pam Clark and her husband, Dale of Cassville, Missouri; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Mary grew up and received her education at Forsyth, Missouri, where she graduated from high school. For several years she was employed as a machine operator for Jumping Jacks and U.S. Shoes. At age 85 she retired from Wal-Mart after working there seventeen years. Some of her favorite pastimes were quilting, genealogy, crafts, working crossword puzzles and she loved her newspaper.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 1, 2015, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri. Pastor Doyle Russell will conduct the services. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Cassville.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

Jackie "Jack" R. Schlessman
(January 21, 1938 - May 29, 2015)
Jackie R. “Jack” Schlessman, age 77, of Purdy, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015, in Cox-Monett Hospital.
He was born January 21, 1938, in Anderson, Missouri, the son of Leon Emmit and Viola (Thrutchley) Schlessman. On May 17, 1957 in Lanagan, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Norma Thurman, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jackie W. Schlessman and his wife, Jacquelyn of Purdy, Missouri and Steve Schlessman and his wife, Dawn of Wheaton, Missouri; one daughter, Sharon Kay Baker and her husband, Ray of Orange Park, Florida; three brothers, Tom Schlessman and his wife, Bonnie of Bentonville, Arkansas, John Schlessman and his wife, Freda of Beaver, Oklahoma and Junior Schlessman and his wife, Neoma of Anderson, Missouri; three sisters, Annabel Warren and her husband, John of Kansas City, Missouri, Carolyn “Kay” Lewis of Moran, Kansas and Mary Lou Lewis and her husband, Rick of Pineville, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers, Emmit, Lester and William Schlessman.
Jack received his education at Pineville, where he graduated from high school. For several years he was employed as a butcher at the Wheaton IGA and then owned and operated The Wheaton Frozen Foods. He later worked at Efco, Fasco and then Walmart. He was a member of East Side Church of Christ in Monett. He enjoyed playing softball and coached little league baseball. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting mushrooms, watching his grandkids play ball, hunting and fishing. He also loved watching the Cardinals and westerns on TV.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 2, 2015, in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Don Deffenbaugh will conduct the services. Burial will be in Tracy cemetery, Anderson, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.

Cornelius Clayton Vickers, Jr.

Cornelius Clayton Vickers, Jr., age 88, of Seligman, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015, in Circle of Life Hospice Legacy Village, Bentonville, Arkansas.
He was born May 3, 1927, in Marcia, New Mexico, the son of Cornelius C. Vickers, Sr. and Oma (Rapier) Vickers. He was united in marriage to Mary Anne Rehfeld, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Jack Vickers of Neosho, Missouri, Rick Vickers of Gardena, California and James Vickers of Hawthorne, California; one step-son, Ray Wein of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; one brother, John Vickers of Simi Valley, California; one sister, Ruth Minarsch of Palm Springs, California; a half-sister, Sharon Rehfeld of California; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a grandson.
Cornelius received his education in Arizona, where he graduated from high school. He spent most of his life in California, where he was a self-employed carpenter building new homes. He was a United States Navy Veteran. Cornelius was an outstanding member of the community and was a loving and faithful husband, father and grandfather.
Memorial services with military honors will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 3, 2015, in Fayetteville National cemetery, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Cremation arrangements were under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri.
