Loretta F. Tilford
(September 14, 1938 - December 28, 2014)
Loretta F. Tilford, age 76, of Washburn, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, December 28, 2014, in Select Specialty Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.
She was born September 14, 1938, in Exeter, Missouri, the daughter of Elmus and Elsie (Lee) Snook. On December 31, 1954, she was united in marriage to Jack Wright, and to this union five children were born. Jack preceded her in death on January 28, 1980. In August 1989, she married
Bill Tilford, who died February 26, 1996. Also preceding her in death were her parents; and one son, Leslie.
Surviving are four daughters, Karen Roller and her husband, Wes of Washburn, Missouri, Judy Brooks and her husband, David of Washburn, Missouri, Jackie Rouse and her husband, Jim of Marlow, Oklahoma and Kelly Anderson and her husband, Andy of Seligman, Missouri; two sisters, Lois Rose and Judy Amos both of Exeter, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Leslie, Tori, Matt, Kyle, Cody, Kia, James, Eric and Brent; nine great grandchildren, Haley, Connor, Morgan, Taylor, Lily, Mattison, Ali, Mya and Colton and several nieces and nephews.
Loretta grew up and received her education at Wayne, Missouri. She had been employed at Vasey-Bristol Shoe Company and later Southwest School as custodian. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church where she played the piano over thirty years. Some of her favorite pastimes were watching westerns, reading western books and being with family.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, January 3, 2015, in Washburn Prairie cemetery, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastors John Henry and Dale Stover will conduct the services.

Ruby "Darlene" Crabtree
(November 1, 1930 - December 28, 2014)
Ruby “Darlene” Crabtree, age 84, of Rocky Comfort, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014, in Freeman Hospital, Joplin, Missouri.
She was born November 1, 1930, in Sparda, Arkansas, the daughter of Ernest and Louise Rachel (Parks) Ervin. On February 22, 1948, in Hutchinson, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Gomer Crabtree, who preceded her in death on August 31, 1999. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one daughter, Patricia Ann; one son, William Glen; three brothers, Everett Bernds, Cecil Terry and Albert Terry and two great grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Lynda Crabtree of Rocky Comfort, Missouri; four brothers, James Bernds, Wayne Ramsey, Gerald Terry and Robert Terry all of Hutchinson, Kansas; three sisters, Earlene Tatum and Alberta Messners both of Hutchinson, Kansas and Bonnie Lemoine of Monroe, Louisiana; four grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
At the age of two months, Darlene’s family moved from Arkansas to Kansas, where she grew up and received her education. She received her Master’s Degree in Alcohol and Drug Counseling from the University of Arkansas. For fourteen years she taught art at Springdale Ozark Guidance Center. She also was a caregiver several years and was a counselor. Her favorite pastime was collecting Angels.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert will conduct the services. Burial will be in Union cemetery, Stella, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.

Margaret Elmore
(May 16, 1920 - December 30, 2014)
Margaret Elmore, age 94, of Cassville, Missouri, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014, in her home.
Margaret was born May 16, 1920, in Manhattan, Kansas, the daughter of Leroy and Clara (Smith) Harrold. In 1934, the family moved to the Horner Community south of Cassville. On December 30, 1946, she was united in marriage to Marvin Elmore, who preceded her in death in 1979.
Survivors include one sister, Doris MacDougall of Springfield, Missouri; one brother, Wayne Harrold and his wife Hope of Belle Plaine, Kansas; two daughters, Margery Elmore of Cassville, Missouri and Nancy Chadd and her husband, Jim of Cassville, Missouri; two granddaughters, Janelle Mackey and her husband, Jason of Cassville, Missouri and Jaclyn Kennedy of Cassville, Missouri; one grandson, Jeff Chadd and his wife, Terri of Bentonville, Arkansas; four great grandsons, Alex Mackey, Jayden Chadd, Quinton Chadd and Peyton Chadd; two great granddaughters, Audrey Kennedy and Taylor Kennedy and several nieces and nephews.
Marvin and Margaret lived in California until 1956, and then moved back to the Horner Community to a slower pace of life. Margaret was a homemaker and also worked for Standard Mutual Insurance for several years. She taught pre-school age Sunday School for twenty some years and loved every minute of it. In recent years she loved being around her great grandchildren. She always said she could sit for hours just watching them play.
Her parents, one sister (Genevieve Harrold) and one brother (Dean Harrold) preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 2, 2015, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Jason Mackey and Dr. Leland May will conduct the services. Burial will be in Horner cemetery, Cassville.

Rick Lyn Strickland

Rick Lyn Strickland, age 64, of Seneca, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 29, 2014, at his mother’s home in Exeter, Missouri.
He was born December 1, 1950, in Miami, Oklahoma, the son of Clayton and Janiece (Taggart) Strickland.
Rick grew up and received his education in Miami, Oklahoma, where he graduated from high school. He attended NEO in pursuit of his Bachelor’s Degree. He had served in the United States Army. He was a self-employed artist. Some of his favorite pastimes were painting, art and all outdoor activities. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his mother, Janiece Lawson of Exeter, Missouri; four daughters, Amy Platner of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kirsten Strickland of Webb City, Missouri, Bianca Lujan and her husband, Nathan of Lonoke, Arkansas and Lyndsey Strickland of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his girlfriend, Cindy Holt of Seneca, Missouri; two brothers, Gary Strickland of Joelton, Tennessee and Kent Strickland and his wife, Denise of Seneca, Missouri; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Preceding him in death were his father and one brother, David Strickland.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

Esther G. Rissler
(July 28, 1941 - December 31, 2014)
Esther G. (Burkholder) Rissler, was born July 28, 1941, in Ephrata, PA to the late Levi & Anna Good Burkholder. Esther passed from this life, December 31, 2014, at Stark City, MO at the age of 73 years, 5 mo, and 3 days. She married
Isaac A. Rissler on December 18, 1965. This union was blessed with seven children.
She is survived by her husband, Isaac; three sons, James & Fannie Mae of Pattonsburg, MO, Ernest & Rita of Bangor, CA, Daniel & Sara of Kenton, TN; four daughters, Norma & Salomon Gutierrez of Lowville, NY, Esther Arlene & Elias Salazar of Stark City, MO, Orpha Rissler of Crockett, KY, Ann Marie Patterson & Jim Pittman of Beaumont, TX. Also surviving are four brothers, James & Luella of Myerstown, PA, Noah of Selbyville, DE, Christian & Miriam of Dover, PA and Moses & Edith of Myerstown, PA and nine sisters, Harry & Mildred Dieffenbach of Womelsdorf, PA, Ronald & Martha Putt of Webster, KY, Dennis & Grace Bennetch of Fredricksburg, PA, Daniel & Fay Renno of Danville, PA, Clarence & Nancy Burkholder of Myerstown, PA, Mervin & Priscilla Kreider of Myerstown, PA, Eunice Horst (Lloyd) of Lykens, PA and Mark & Miriam Witmer of Myerstown, PA. She will also be missed by her 29 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Phebe & Margaret; three infant siblings; two brothers-in-law; one nephew and two infant nieces.
Her cheerful smile and patience in suffering was a witness of Christ’s work in her life and encouraged many, as did her home-made cards.
The family is humbly grateful for the visits, cards, scrapbook pages, bouquets, meals and many other kindnesses that have been shared with Esther and with the family. God bless you!
Esther was a faithful member of Fairview Mennonite Church, where the funeral will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Teddie R. Poe
(April 22, 1967 - January 1, 2015)
Teddie R. Poe, age 47, of Seligman, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.
He was born April 22, 1967, in Cassville, Missouri, the son of Dorris and Cleva (Greek) Poe.
Teddie received his education at Washburn and graduated from Southwest High School. For twenty years he was employed at Roaring River State Park in maintenance. He was of the Baptist faith and accepted Christ as his Savior nine days ago. Teddie enjoyed wood working and building bird houses and he loved his family.
Surviving are his mother, Cleva Preston of Seligman, Missouri; two brothers, Fred Poe of Cassville, Missouri and Teddie’s twin brother, Ed Poe of Washburn, Missouri; one sister, Sonja Green and her husband, Luke of Seligman, Missouri; aunts; uncles; nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his father and grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 5, 2015, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Bob Scott will conduct the services. Burial will be in Hickman cemetery, Washburn.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Monday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

Helen Marie Salberg
(August 17, 1910 - December 31, 2014)
Helen Marie Salberg, age 104, of Golden, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in Autumn Hill Nursing Home, Berryville, Arkansas.
She was born August 17, 1910, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Frederic Christian and Minnie Marie (Larson) Iwers. On October 6, 1928, in Elk Point, South Dakota, she was united in marriage to Harry Salberg who preceded her in death on December 14, 1978. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son Thomas Salberg; two brothers and a daughter- in-law, Evelyn Salberg.
Surviving are one son Robert Salberg and his wife Patricia of Ocala, Florida; one daughter Gwen Pottorff and her husband Marvin of Golden, Missouri; one sister, Jody Thorson of Roanoke, Texas; two nieces, Patty Ferguson of Phoenix City, Alabama and Cindy Waller of Sundance, Wyoming; fifteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren and twenty great-great-grandchildren.
Helen attended East High School in Sioux City, Iowa. Her parents died at a young age, so she raised her sister Jody. She and Harry spent their married
life in Sioux City. She enjoyed working with flowers in her yard and they loved fishing together. Helen was a member of First Lutheran Church in Sioux City and she enjoyed her monthly ladies Bible Study.
In 2000, she moved to her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Golden, where she remained until 2011, when she went to Autumn Hill Nursing Home.
Services will be held in the spring in Sioux City, Iowa.
Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri.

Tony Ray Brattin

Tony Ray Brattin, born, January 27, 1951, passed away November 16, 2014.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, whom he married
December 6, 1974; two sons, Adam Brattin of Springfield, Missouri and Tyrell Brattin and his wife, Miranda of Salt Lake City, Utah; two brothers, Don Moore and his wife, Jackie of Cassville, Missouri and Scott England of Wentworth, Kansas; eight sisters, Pat Stringer of Cassville, Leslie Butrim of Verona, Missouri, Tina and her husband, Steve Scheaffer of Dayton, Ohio, Shawn Walling of Branson, Missouri, Sandy Craig, Dede England and Rebecca Coatney all of Monett, Missouri and Karla and her husband, Joe Klopstein of Kansas and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Katrina; his mother, Dena Brattin Moore; step-father, Dorcas Moore and father, Joe England.
Tony was proud of his family, his faith in God and of being a veteran of Vietnam. For seventeen years he was employed as a welder at Fasco. A member of Ridgley Southern Baptist Church, he loved to sing his solos. He will be lovingly remembered for his love for his wife, sons and grandchildren, for his sense of humor and for Hee-Haw.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 20, 2014, in Ridgley Southern Baptist Church, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton, Missouri. Pastor Tony Ball will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be in Creason cemetery, Ridgley, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.
