Walters Robert Samuel
Samuel Robert Walters, 55, of Gravois Mills, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at his home. He was born Jan. 9, 1948, near Gravois Mills, a son of Joe O. and Patricia Powers Walters. On May 29, 1977, he was married
to Kay Bauer, who died May 28, 1997. On March 31, 2001, he was married
to Marsha Phillips Black, who survives of the home. Mr. Walters was a 1966 graduate of Stover High School. He was a rural carrier for the Gravois Mills Post Office for the past 34 years. He was planning to retire in February. He was a member of Gravois Mills United Methodist Church, the Rural Mail Carriers Association and the American Legion. He served on the Missouri Extension board for several years. Also surviving are his mother of Gravois Mills; six stepsons, Robert "Bo" Walters and Michael Black, both of Gravois Mills, Ron Black of Excelsior Springs, Billy Black of St. Joseph, Jimmy Black and Charlie Black, both of Stover; two stepdaughters, Tonya Collister of Springfield and Stephanie Raines of Ashland; two sisters, Pam Ussery and Sue Avis, both of Gravois Mills; and nine stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with the Rev. Sidney Robbins officiating. Pallbearers will be Damen Shewmaker, Ray Metscher, Bob McCormick, Ernie Hibdon, Gary Walters and Kent Walters. Burial will be in Holst cemetery near Gravois Mills, with military rites by American Legion Zack Wheat Post No. 624 of Sunrise Beach. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to the church Gravois Mills United Methodist Church.
Weber Eileen Frances

Frances Eileen Weber, age 81, of Sedalia, formerly of Stover, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2003 at Sylvia C. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia, Missouri. She was born June 13, 1922 in Easton, Missouri, the daughter of Peter Frederick and Mary Catherine Sullivan Karl. On July 6, 1946 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Jacob Weber in Chicago, Illinois, who preceded her in death on September 6, 1996. Mrs. Weber was raised and educated in Easton, Missouri where she graduated from high school. She moved to Chicago with her sister where she worked for SW Bell Telephone Company. In 1968, she and her husband moved to Stover, Missouri where they raised cattle. She was a member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Versailles, Missouri for many years and was a member of the Women’s Alter Guild. She moved to Sedalia in 1996 and became a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. She is survived by five daughters, Mary Ann Reyburn, of Sedalia, Missouri, Dolores E. Marriott, of Gravois Mills, Valerie J Bloess of Sedalia, Missouri, Karen P Burr of Olathe, Kansas; Kathleen M. Metcalf, of Sunrise Beach; one sister, Margaret Gach of Carroll, Iowa; eleven grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Weber; one granddaughter Nicole Weber; two sisters, Rose Miller and Agnes Vacco; and one brother, Thomas Karl. Mass was at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, August 30, 2003 at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Versailles, Missouri with Father Fred Barnett officiating. Burial was in the St. Patrick cemetery in Laurie, Missouri. Casketbearer were David Baer, Traci Marriott, Chris Riley, Jennifer Reyburn, Kyle Riley, Melissa Reyburn, Dru Bloess, and Teresa Stiles. Arrangements were under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
Wehrle Alfred British
British Alfred Wehrle, III, age 53, of Gravois Mills, passed away Tuesday evening, February 15, 2005 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach. He was born November 15, 1951 in Van Nuys, California, the son of Marlin Frances and Winifred Hester Wehrle. He was united in marriage on November 24, 1971 with Barbara Johnson. He was a boilermaker and currently worked at Lake Cultured Marble in Gravois Mills. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Wehrle of the home; one son, Carl Wehrle and wife Dusty, of Las Vegas, Nevada; two daughters, Elsie Scott and husband James, of the home, and Daisy Wehrle of the home; one brother, Garry Broomfield of Las Vegas, Nevada; one grandson, Shane Wehrle, many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Cremation will be at a later date. Weinstein Lee Marvin
Marvin Lee Weinstein, age 76, of Lohman, MO, formerly of Versailles, MO, passed away Wednesday evening, March 30, 2005 at his home. He was born on August 17, 1928 in Golden City, Missouri, the son of George Franklin and Dona Baker Weinstein. He was united in marriage to Louetta Laurie who preceded him in death. He later married
Suzanne M. Lowry on May 22, 1965 in Stover, Missouri. Mr. Weinstein was a truck driver for Cargill and owned and operated Marvin Weinsteins Jack Hammer and Dynamite. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne M. Weinstein of the home; five daughters, Dona Elaine Wyatt of Grandview, MO, Doris Diann Sudholt of St. Peters, MO, Denece Marie Orndoff of Kansas City, KS, Davina Dawn Weinstein of Winchester, KS, Deborah Sue Lansford of Centertown, MO; one sister, Marie Charters of Payson, Arizona three brothers, Euburn L. Boro of Long Beach, MS, Jim U. Boro of Buffalo, MO, Frank Weinstein of Buffalo, MO; thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Eugene Boro and John Jr. Boro. A celebration of life will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday April 2, 2005 at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Chaplain Doug Loped and Chaplain Chris McCutchen officiating. Wenger Bentch Alta Glendola
Glendola Alta Bentch Wenger, age 78, of Versailles, passed away Thursday morning, January 2, 2003 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri following a short illness. She was born March 8, 1924 in Sagrada, Missouri, the daughter of George Ezra and Minnie Opal McDavitt Bentch. She was united in marriage on September 19, 1948 to L. Roy Wenger in a double ceremony with her sister, Lela and his brother Paul at Mt. Zion Mennonite Church. She accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of ten and was baptized. She was a member of Cornerstone Church of Versailles and Gideons International Auxiliary. Glenda loved the Lord and served him all her life. She was a example of a Godly woman, a wonderful mother and wife, she is in the arms of the Lord and will be greatly missed. Glendola attended school in Lick Creek area and graduated from Climax Springs High School. In addition to her husband, she is survived by seven daughters, Delores Miller and husband, Marlin of Versailles, MO, Charlene Yoder and husband, Cleo of Wolford, ND, Darlene Reimer and husband, Leonard of Omaha, NE, Marilyn Stevens of Omaha, NE, Janice Miller and husband, Clifford of Versailles, Judith Redcay and husband, Elmer of Jefferson City, MO, Vivian Good and husband, Jeff of Murphy, ID; two sons, Philip Wenger and wife, Helen of Versailles, MO, and Frederick Wenger and wife, Natasha of Jefferson City, MO; two brothers Don Bentch of Versailles, MO, and Clarence Bentch and wife, Betty of Jefferson City, MO; two sisters, Lela Wenger and husband, Paul of Hesston, KS, and Eunice Lehman and husband Quintin of Versailles, MO; 27 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one infant daughter and one infant great-granddaughter. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wenger L. Roy

L. Roy Wenger, age 77, of Versailles, MO, went to be with the Lord on Friday afternoon, October 24, 2003 at Golden Age Living Center in Stover, MO. He was born February 6, 1926 on the farm near Versailles, son of Jesse and Ella Lehman Wenger. Roy was united in marriage on September 19, 1948 to Glendola Alta Bentch in a double ceremony with his brother Paul and her sister, Lela at Mt. Zion Mennonite Church. Roy accepted Christ as Savior and was baptized at age 13 and was a member of Mt. Zion and Cornerstone Church of Versailles. He attended grade school at Prairie Valley and then Versailles High School. Roy went to CPS in lieu of military in 1944 to work on a dam in Hill City, South Dakota, and then to Pennsylvania to do dairy testing. Roy became a dairy farmer and in the late 50’s he began an International Implement business, Versailles Truck and Tractor. Roy enjoyed being a member of Gideon’s International. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father and grandfather. We will miss him greatly. Roy is survived by nine children. Seven daughters, Delores Miller and husband Marlin of Versailles, MO, Charlene Yoder and husband Cleo of Wolford, ND, Darlene Reimer and husband Leonard of Omaha, NE, Marilyn McKee and husband Michael of Omaha,NE, Janice Miller and husband Clifford of Versailles, MO, Judith Redcay and husband Elmer of Jefferson City, MO, Vivian Good and husband Jeff of Murphy, ID; two sons, Philip Wenger and wife Helen of Versailles, MO, and Frederick Wenger and wife Natasha of Jefferson City, MO; three brothers, Albert Wenger of Versailles, MO, Norman Wenger and wife Mary of Versailles, MO, and Paul Wenger and wife Lela of Hesston, KS; one sister, Bertha Swarr and husband Paul of Richmond, VA; 27 grandchildren, 1 step-grandson, and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Glendola in January 2003, two sisters, Barbara Wenger and Viola Ramer, an infant brother Emmanuel, also one infant daughter Grace, and one infant great-granddaughter, Lydia. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 27, at Cornerstone Church of Versailles, with Dale Bentch and Leonard Reimer officiating. Musicians will be Dan Wenger, Bob Wenger, Clifford Miller, Kerby Miller, and Jeremy Wenger. Interment will be in Mt. Zion cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kerby Miller, Brandon Redcay, Eric Stevens, Jake Good, Zachary Wenger, Micah Good, Aaron Wenger and Kelvin Wenger. Honorary pallbearers will be Galen Miller, Chet Yoder, Carlon Yoder, Nathan Redcay, Slava Puyat and Jeremy Wenger. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Williams A. James
James A. Williams, age 50, of Kansas City, formerly of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at his home. He was born January 26, 1955 in Versailles, the son of William W. and Dorothy L. Heinemann Williams. He married
Jean Klindworth Williams, who survives at Gravois Mills. James was a 1973 graduate of Morgan County R-II High School in Versailles and graduated from Southwest Missouri University in 1984. He was a Senior Computer Analyst for Southwestern Bell in Kansas City, and served four years in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Versailles, and enjoyed playing pool and was active in a pool league. He is also survived by three children, Kyler, Jordan, and Allison Williams, of Gravois Mills; his parents, William W. and Dorothy Williams of Versailles; a special friend, Paula Mittan of Kansas City; one brother, Lee Williams and wife Donna, of St. Petersburg, Florida; one sister, Joy Peek and husband Dan, of Columbia, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Versailles, with Rev. Diane Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Versailles cemetery. Casketbearers will be Kenny Homan, Jim Miller, Jerry Fitzsimmons, Richard Scroggs, Barry Schneidler, and Rich Grider. Honorary casketbearers will be Russell Moore and Mike Kehl. Williams C. Matilda
Matilda C. Williams, age 92 of Osage Beach, passed away Sunday evening, November 7, 2004 at the Ozark Care Center in Osage Beach. She was born March 15, 1912 in Kenosha WI, the daughter of Frank and Hattie Vogel Krebs. She was united in marriage to Tom Williams who preceded her in death. There are no memorial services planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie- Sunrise Beach Chapel.
Williams Pamela
Pamela June Williams, age 49, of Versailles, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2005, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. Pam was born October 18, 1955 in Boonville, Missouri, to Harold and Wanda Paxson Klein. She lived in Versailles all of her life and graduated from Versailles High School in 1973. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Versailles, and worked for Sola Optical in Eldon for over 20 years. More recently she was employed at Pamida in California, MO. She was preceded in death by her father on June 30, 1984, and her fiancé Kenny Joe Fields on May 3, 2002. Immediate survivors include her mother, Wanda Klein of Versailles; two sons, Scott Williams and his girlfriend Stephanie Smith of California, MO, and Brian Williams and his wife Alena of Olathe, KS; three brothers, Cloyce Klein and his wife Lora of Eldon, MO, Rodney Klein of Ozark, MO, and Darren Klein and his wife Karen of Columbia, MO; and one granddaughter, Airianna Williams of California, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles, with Rev. Todd Forman officiating. Interment will be in the Versailles cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home. WILLIE E. “Everett” DAVIS
Willie E. “Everett” Davis, age 81, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday evening, August 24, 2004 at his home. He was born November 4, 1922 at Brumley, Missouri, the son of Willie C. and Lela C. Miller Davis. He was united in marriage on September 27, 1948 in Eldon with Hazel Fields, who preceded him in death on August 12, 1982. Everett was a disabled U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by one daughter, Darlene Thomsen of Kansas City; two sisters, Emma Smith of Sedalia, and Geraldine Kaiser of Brumley; four granddaughters, three great-granddaughters, many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one brother, John Shirber Davis, and one sister, Ruby Walker. Graveside services will full military honors will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 28, at the Versailles cemetery, with Rev. Danny Owsley officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Joan Wilson, age 71, of Sunrise Beach, passed away Sunday evening, February 20, 2005 at her home. She was born July 7, 1933 in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of Earl E. and Hazel Roberts Crawford. She was united in marriage on July 13, 1952 in Winterset, Iowa with Maurice W. Wilson, who preceded her in death on September 24, 2002 Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker, member of the Methodist Church of Webster, and the American Legion Auxiliary Zack Wheat Post #624 of Sunrise Beach. She is survived by two sons, Michael Wilson of Wildwood, Florida, and Kevin Wilson of Winter Haven, Florida; one daughter, Sheryl Murphy of Camdenton; seven grandchildren, Robert, Sean, Ryan and Katie Wilson, Jimmy, Krista and Rachel Murphy; four step-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katie, and Michelle Goodman, and Jacob Lopez, five great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Joe Phillip Crawford. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26, at the Linn Creek Baptist Church, with Pastor Galen Markley and Pastor Clyde Leonard officiating. The Linn Creek Baptist Church Praise Team will sing “I Can Only Imagine”, “I’ll Fly Away”, “Amazing Grace”, and “One Day At A Time”. Interment will be in Garber Memorial Estates cemetery in Laurie. Zeigler Michael James
James Michael Zeigler, age 53, of Versailles, passed away Monday afternoon, October 25, 2004 at Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born November 5, 1950 at Rock Island, Illinois, the son of James Leon and Bijou Esther Hatfield Zeigler. He married
Shirley Mosier of Arkansas. He later married
Linda Ferguson Riek who survives of the home. He is also survived by three daughters, Tammy Winters and husband Chip, of Marshfield, Wendy Hawkins and Patricia Zeigler of Versailles; five grandsons, many other relatives and friends. Mike was a crew leader at Fasco Industries in Eldon. He was a member and Sunday school teacher at Barnett New Life Assembly of God Church, a paramedic and had worked for Mid-Mo and Cam-Mo Ambulance Districts, and served as a board member for the Versailles Rural Fire Protection District. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 28, at the New Life Assembly of God Church in Barnett, with Pastor Ron Hess officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. ZIM ROBERTS JR.
Zim Roberts Jr., age 70, of Versailles, passed away Monday, August 9, 2004 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born December 18, 1933 at Rocheport, Missouri, the son of Zim Sr. and Ruby Jewell Bryant Roberts. He was united in marriage on July 28, 1951 with Edith Perkins. Zim worked for Union Electric for 27 years prior to his retirement as foreman on June 1, 1989. He was a member of the I.B.E.W. and served in the National Guard Reserves. Survivors include his wife, Edith Roberts of the home; one son, Stanley Thomas Roberts of Versailles; two daughters, Carolyn Sue Cleaves and Cathrine Jane Owens of Versailles; four brothers, Lester Wilhite of Columbia, James Henry Roberts of Mexico, Billy Joe Roberts of Iowa, and Arthur Roberts of Nebraska; four sisters, Dorothy Walker and Carol Lee Baker of Columbia, Donna Sue Woods of Mexico, and Ruth Ann Dalton of Laddonia; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Kenneth Wayne Roberts, two granddaughters, and several brothers and sisters. Joyce J. Sauerwein, age 73, of Stover, passed away Friday, September 5, 2003 at St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City. She was born July 29, 1930, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Gus and Margaret Drinning Eckenfels. She married
Richard Sauerwein who preceded her in death. Mrs. Sauerwein enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and loved her dog “Pepper”. She is survived by two sons, Gary Hollandsworth and William Hollandsworth of Stover; three daughters, Brenda Hollandsworth and Rhonda Bailey of Potosi, MO and Connie Miller, of Stover; three brothers, August Eckenfels of Stover, Carl Angel of Gerald, MO, and Bobby Eckenfels of Hannibal, MO; three sisters, Barbara Eckenfels, Dorothy Quick, and LaVerne Cole, all of St. Louis, MO; fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Stanley R. Sease, age 62, of Gravois Mills, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2003 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. He was born October 4, 1940 in Joplin, Missouri, the son of Harry Roland and Elsie Ricewing Sease. Mr. Sease was retired from the tire recycling business. He is survived by one son, Dusty Sease of Shawnee, Kansas; one sister, Karen Alexander of Delmar, California; and two grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 6:00 P.M. Donald Raymond Sell, age 66, of Gravois Mills, passed away Saturday morning, September 17, 2005 at his home. He was born August 17, 1939 in Amarillo, Texas, son of the late Raymond Edward and Mary Maxine Burris Sell. He was united in marriage on September 26, 1997 near Stover, with Anna Mae Padgett. Mr. Sell was retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sergeant. He was a television technician and owned and operated The Hang Out Bar and Grill in the Ivy Bend Community near Stover. He is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Sell of the home; three daughters, Sherrie Dawn Allen and husband Wil, of Los Angeles, CA, Donna Kay DeMoss and fiancée Don, of Oklahoma City, OK, and Tammia Lynn Sell of Amarillo, TX; four sons, Stacy Wade Sell of Dalhart, TX, Bruce F. (Frankie) Burns III, of Lansing, KS, Luther Ray I. Burns of Union, MO, and David B. Doolin Jr. and fiancée Vanessa, of Gravois Mills; one sister, Shirley Lucille Steele of Kansas City, MO; 7 granddaughters, 1 great-great-granddaughter, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shirley and August Eckenfels, of Stover, several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends. Robert Clayton Sharp, age 50, of Sunrise Beach, passed away Thursday morning, October 30, 2003 at his home. He was born August 24, 1953 in Harrison County, Missouri, the son of Kenneth Sharp and Beverly Jenkins. He was united in marriage on January 6, 1983 with Cheryl Moon, who survives of the home. Robert was a self-employed automobile salesman. In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Dustin Sharp and his companion Sam, of Tucson, Arizona; his father, Kenneth Sharp of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; his mother, Beverly Jenkins of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one brother, Craig Sharp and wife Jeanette of Loveland, Colorado; two sisters, Sherry Walters and husband Jim, of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Kelly Hooper of Bellefontaine, Ohio; two grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles, with Rev. Bart Larson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Graveside services and interment will be Tuesday afternoon, November 4, in Park Grove cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Robert Sharp Memorial Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
