LOUISE CLINES
Louise Clines, 88, Independence, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, at Truman Medical Center.
Mrs. Clines was employed at the Andrew Drumm Institutes as a house parent for 11 years and retired in 1974. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Clines in 1979.
Her survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Guy Rice, Blue Springs; her grandson, Preston "Butch" Rogers; and several caregivers.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Speaks Suburban Chapel, Independence.
EMILY A. HAHN
Emily A. Hahn, 83, Independence, died Friday, Aug. 14, 1998, at The Groves, Independence.
Mrs. Hahn was born Aug. 3, 1915, in Thamesville, Ontario, Canada, and had lived in Independence for the past 64 years. She had worked for 53 years for Independence Regional Hospital as a nurse and ward secretary. She was a graduate of the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of the Mount Washington RLDS Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Oscar Hahn.
Her survivors include two daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathryn A. and Lee Pickering, Kansas City, and Mary T. and George Lewis, Peculiar, Mo.; a sister, Margaret Brackett, Golden, British Columbia, Canada; two grandsons, Geoffrey E. Pickering and Christian L. Pickering; three granddaughters, Martha Patton, Mary Jo Pickering, and Kathy Lewis; and a great-grandson, Gavin Pickering.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Washington cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. JOSEPHINE "JO" A. HIMMELBERG
Josephine "Jo" A. Himmelberg, 85, Glasgow, Mo., died Friday, Aug. 14, 1998, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Glasgow.
Mrs. Himmelberg was born Dec. 22, 1912, in Case, Mo. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary`s and St. Ann`s Catholic churches. She was also a member of D of I & CCW, and was a charter member of Cozy Corner Extension Club.
Her survivors include her husband, Norbert Himmelberg of the home; four daughters, Mary Jo Haskamp, Kansas City, Judy Allen, Sacramento, Calif., Helen Jackson, Higginsville, Mo., and Wilma Christensen, Independence; a son, Leo Himmelberg, Glasgow; two sisters, Evelyn Laske, Springfield, Mo., and Stella Thies, Glasgow; a brother, Lawrence Weber, Salisbury, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were today at St. Mary`s Catholic Church, Glasgow. Burial was in Washington cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Howard County Home Health or St. Mary`s or St. Ann`s Catholic churches.
DEAN B. KELLY SR.
Dean B. Kelly Sr., 81, Blue Springs, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, at his home.
Mr. Kelly was born April 27, 1917, in Kansas City, and had lived in Raytown and Blue Springs for the past 45 years. He was in the U.S. Navy from 1940 to 1945, serving on a troop ship and a destroyer. He and his father owned the Dean Kelly Clothier, a men`s clothing store for approximately 30 years. He later was employed at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant for 28 years, retiring as chief of security. He was a member of Ancient Order of The Hibernians.
His survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary Ann Kelly of the home; five sons and two daughters-in-law, Dean B. Kelly Jr., Lawrence R. Kelly and Timothy V. Kelly, all of Kansas City, Michael P. and Joyce Kelly, El Cajon, Calif., and Donald M. and Theresa Kelly, Raytown; two daughters and one son-in-law, Carol S. Perks, Liberty, Mo., and Tricia D. and George Picard; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John LaLande Catholic Church, Blue Springs. The family suggests contributions to the church building fund.
MINNIE E. LEAP
Minnie E. Leap, 93, Independence, died Friday, Aug. 14, 1998, at the Medical Center of Independence.
Mrs. Leap was born Jan. 21, 1905, in Kansas City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman F. Leap in 1965.
Her survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Jean and Donald Reickard, Warsaw, Mo., and Lavon and Jim Kuder, Independence; three grandsons, Larry Kuder, Glenn and Kenny Habermehl; two granddaughters, Linda Reickard and Sharon Hoyt; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. Burial will be in Blue Springs cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 tonight at the chapel.
GEORGE W. LEIGH
George William Leigh, 78, Independence, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 1998, at the VA Medical Center.
Mr. Leigh was born March 30, 1920, in Independence and was a lifelong resident of Independence. He was a chef for area restaurants for more than 20 years. He was an elder in the Restoration Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
His survivors include two daughters, Georgia A. Leigh, Port Charlotte, Fla., and Katherine R. Antworth, Independence; four sisters, Bonnie, Virginia, Viola and Leigh; and eight grandchildren.
Memorial services were Saturday at the church. Arrangements were under the direction of the D.W. Newcomer`s Sons Noland Road Chapel.
LETTIE M. YALE
Lettie M. Yale, 69, Independence, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998, at Independence Health Care Center.
Mrs. Yale was born July 24, 1929, in Fort Scott, Kan., and had lived in this area for 24 years. She was a self-employed musician. She attended the monthly National Council of Jewish Women`s Luncheon for the Blind.
Her survivors include a son, Norman Yale, Independence; and a daughter and son-in-law, Buffie and Bob Hoye, Independence.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at her son`s home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, 5960 Dearborn, Suite 100, Mission, Kan. 66202.
DONALD J. STARK
Donald John Stark, 86, Minnetonka, Minn., formerly of Independence, died Monday, Sept. 21, 1998, at the Care Free Living Center in Minnetonka.
Mr. Stark was born in Charlerio, Pa., and lived in Independence most of his life, moving to Minnesota four years ago. He had been a parts supervisor for the Ford Motor Co. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the Gudgell Park RLDS congregation. His wife, Rachael "Libby" Stark, died in 1994.
His survivors include a son, Phillip Stark, Seattle; three daughters, Elizabeth Landes, Plymouth, Minn., Kay Mueller, Kansas City, and Marjory Buckley, Fort Worth, Texas; a brother, Lane Stark, Independence; three sisters, Helene Goodin, Independence, Blanche Postlawate, Stockton, Mo., and Marian Ensign, Salt Lake City, Utah; eight grandchildren, Eric, Karen, Lisa, Chris, Brian, Kristen, Laura and Jerod; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the RLDS Temple Fund.
FAYE B. REDMON
Faye B. Redmon, 93, Blue Springs, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at St. Mary's Manor in Blue Springs.
Mrs. Redmon was born Dec. 10, 1905, in Seligman, Mo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Redmon, and a daughter, Barbara Ann Schmidt.
Her survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Kay Redmon, Independence, and Albert and Mary Redmon, Warsaw, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lee's Summit cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Langsford Funeral Home, Lee's Summit.
ROBERT L. BENNETT
Robert Lee Bennett, 50, Independence, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998, at his home.
Mr. Bennett was born June 20, 1948, in Independence and was a lifelong Independence resident. He attended the Full Gospel Assembly of God.
His survivors include his wife, Judy Bennett, Mississippi; four children, Jimmy Krantz, Atchison, Kan., Roberta Bennett, Kansas, Robert Bennett Jr., Boonville, Mo., and Chris Bennett, Kansas City; his mother, Agnes Calderon, Independence; four brothers, Chuck Bennett, John Lawrence and Tony Bennett, all of Independence, and Jimmy Bennett, Cameron, Mo.; four sisters, Betty Williams, Mary Lou Lee, Beverly Smith and Sherry Barnes, all of Independence; and six grandchildren.

Pauline Dean
Pauline Johnston Dean, 76, Lee's Summit, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Johnston was born April 28, 1923, in LaCygne, Kan. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Raytown and was very active in her church and community. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Norris Johnston and Tom Dean; a son, Larry Johnston; a daughter, Deanna Raymond; and a grandson, John Johnston.
Her survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Kim Johnston, Austin, Texas; a sister, Edith Ashby, Lee's Summit; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 1p.m. Saturday at Brooking cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice, 1625 West 92nd St., Kansas City, Mo. 64114. Arrangements are under the direction of the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel.
Fern I. Breedlove
Fern I. Breedlove, 87, Independence, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at the Independence Regional Health Center.
Mrs. Breedlove was born March 5, 1910, and had lived her entire life in this area. She was a member of the Walnut Park RLDS Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Breedlove in 1980.
Her survivors include a son, Lyle of the home; a brother, Donald Adams, Lee`s Summit; and a grandson, Kevin Breedlove, Blue Springs.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Speaks Midtown Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Fern I. Breedlove Memorial Fund.
WILLIAM GEE
William Gee, 61, Independence, died Monday, March 2, 1998, at Independence Regional Health Center.
Mr. Gee was born Dec. 22, 1936, in Kansas City. He was a member of the VFW and was a past member of the Lee`s Summit Rescue Team. He was a member of St. John Episcopal Church, where he had been an altar boy.
His survivors include a stepson, Blayne Bowman, Denver; a stepdaughter, Stacey Smith, Lincoln, Neb.; a sister, Carol Reed, Independence; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Blue Springs cemetery. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time at the Webb-Freer Funeral Home, Blue Springs.
RICKEY H. HINES
Rickey Howard Hines, 48, Lee`s Summit, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at IHS at Alpine North, Kansas City.
Mr. Hines was born Jan. 28, 1950, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He was a 1968 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School. He worked at Sears Roebuck and Co. in Kansas City until his retirement in December 1990. He then worked for Jeffries Distribution in North Kansas City in August of 1991 until May 1996. He was a Vietnam era Army veteran. In 1994 he volunteered with the National PVA Wheelchair Veterans Games.
His survivors include his wife, Betty Hines, and two daughters, Nicole Hines and Michelle Hines, all of the home; his mother, Marie Hines-DeStefano, Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Alvie L. Hines, New Lathrop, Mich., and Ted J. Hines, Strasberg, Mo.; and a sister, Joyce A. Moyer, Kansas City.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Langsford Funeral Home, Lee`s Summit.
Burial will be in the Lee`s Summit cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association.
FREDA D. HURLEY
Freda D. Hurley, 63, Independence, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at the Medical Center of Independence.
Mrs. Hurley was born Aug. 26, 1934, in Independence. She was a secretary at Kansas Cold Storage. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a daughter.
Her survivors include her husband, Jerry Hurley of the home; a son, Jack Hayson, Richmond, Mo.; a daughter, Gail Butler, Higginsville, Mo.; her mother, Deloris Burnett, Lexington, Mo.; four brothers, Jack Ralston, Lexington, Robert Ralston and William Ralston, both of Roscoe, Mo., and David Ralston, Richmond; a sister, Lois DiiBon, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Graveside services were today at the Memorial Park cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Walker-Nadler Funeral Home, Lexington.
GERALD W. McKENZIE
Gerald Woodrow McKenzie, 81, Oak Grove, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at the Medical Center of Independence.
Mr. McKenzie was born Oct. 26, 1916, in Brookfield, Mo. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He had been an electrician, working in commercial construction, retiring in 1977. He was a lifetime member and past commander of VFW Post 6649, Oak Grove. He was a member of the Odessa Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the IBEW 124. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma L. McKenzie in 1987, and a son, Michael Patrick McKenzie in 1982.
His survivors include his wife, Velma R. McKenzie of the home; a daughter, Geraldine Boland, Liberty, Mo.; three stepsons, Paul R. Clampitt, Oak Grove, Robert G. Finter, Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Richard D. Finter, Olathe, Kan.; a brother, Elwin M. McKenzie, Independence; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at the Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where a VFW service will be at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Missionary Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
