AARON CAMPBELL
Aaron Campbell, 76, Joy, Texas, formerly of Holden, Mo., died Sunday, May 30, 1999, in a Henrietta, Texas, hospital.
Mr. Campbell was born July 18, 1922, in Bluegrove, Texas. He served in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He was a heavy machine operator in the pipeline industry.
His survivors include a daughter, Kathy Sue Godfrey, Independence; three sisters, Willie Mae Ivy and Dovie Campbell, both of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Mildred Roseborough, Deland, Fla.; a brother, James Campbell, Hale Center, Texas; and three grandsons, James, William and John Godfrey, all of Independence.
Graveside services were June 1 in the Campbell Family cemetery, Bluegrove, Texas.
CLIFFORD L. CRAIG
Clifford L. Craig, 82, Independence, died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at the Independence Health Center.
Mr. Craig was born April 5, 1915, in Cardy, Mo., and had lived in Independence since 1955. He had worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 40 years, retiring in 1976.
His survivors include his wife of 59 years, Naomi Craig of Independence; three sons, Charles Craig and Kenneth Craig, both of San Antonio, Texas, and Calvin Craig, Independence; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Buckner Hill cemetery. Friends may call from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Brown Funeral Home, 300 Adams, Buckner.
VIRGINIA M. JORDAN
Virginia M. Jordan, 75, Lee`s Summit, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at the Lee`s Summit Hospital.
Mrs. Jordan was born June 26, 1922, in Kansas City, and was a lifelong area resident. She had resided at the John Knox Village, Lee`s Summit, for 4 years. She had worked for Allied Signal for 34 years, retiring in 1984. She was a lifelong member of the Mount Washington Baptist Church. She was a member of the IAM Machinist Union.
Her survivors include two sons, Alvie McLelland and Brenerd Jones, both of Independence; a brother, Jack Cathey, Blue Springs; a sister, Ruth Box, Springfield, Mo.; two grandsons; a granddaughter; and three great-grandsons.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Hopewell cemetery, Sedalia, Mo. Friends may call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
DOROTHY E. RADER
Dorothy E. Rader, 88, Chesterfield, Mo., formerly of Independence, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at the Gardenview Masonic Home, Chesterfield.
Mrs. Rader was co-owner/operator of the Millar-Greenlee Typesetting Co., until retiring in 1976.
Her survivors include a daughter, Madelyn Connelly, Independence; three grandsons, Don Connelly, Eustis, Fla., David Rader, Twinsburg, Ohio, and Mark Rader, Highland Heights, Ohio; and two granddaughters, Cynthia Ledford, Odessa, and Andrea Lewis, Hudson, Ohio; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the D.W. Newcomer`s Sons Floral Hills Chapel. Friends may call from 10 until service time at the chapel. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimers Association, 3846 West 75th St., Shawnee Mission, Kan. 66208.
FERN SCHMELING
Fern Schmeling, 81, Blue Springs, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at her home.
Mrs. Schmeling was born Sept. 5, 1916, in Lawrence County, Mo., and had lived in Independence from 1951 until moving to Blue Springs area three years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond "Sandy" Schmeling in 1991.
Her survivors include two daughters, Karen Tom, and Sue A. Knipp, both of Blue Springs; three sisters, Mingo Doss, Hoberg, Mo., Pauline Caldwell, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Lorene Johnson, Florence, Ore.; four grandchildren, Scott Vajda, Blue Springs, Raeann Read, Oak Grove, Amber Dennis and Kendra Trundle, both of Independence; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Washington cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 7:30 tonight at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Messiah Lutheran Church.
BETTIE J. WYATT
Bettie J. Wyatt, 54, Oak Grove, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at her home.
Mrs. Wyatt was born Jan. 28, 1944, in Independence. She had worked for the Ford Claycomo Plant for three years. She was a member of the Colbern Road Restoration Branch Church and the UAW 249.
Her survivors include her husband, Jerry Wyatt, and a daughter, Elizabeth Lula Wyatt, both of the home; a son, Gerald Barker, Odessa; her stepmother, Viola Thompson, Oak Grove; two brothers, Edwin Lee Thompson and Paul Thompson, both of Oak Grove; a stepbrother, Chuck Edwards, Oak Grove; and three grandchildren, Theresa, Mark and Alex Barker.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 tonight at the Royer Chapel.
HARRY L. CHANCE
Harry L. Chance, 83, Independence, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at the Cedar Valley Care Center, Raytown.
Mr. Chance was born Sept. 10, 1914, in Independence and was a lifelong Independence resident. He was employed at Amoco Refinery for 30 years, retiring in 1974.
His survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mary Chance of the home; three sons, Harry H. Chance and Harold T. Chance, both of Independence, and George L. Chance, Kansas City; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at the D.W. Newcomer`s Sons Noland Road Chapel; cremation.
CLIFFORD L. CRAIG
Clifford L. Craig, 82, Independence, died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at the Independence Health Center.

Bettie J. Wyatt, 54, Oak Grove, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at her home.

YVONNE M. ADAMS
Yvonne M. Adams, 69, Buckner, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 1998, at the Monterey Park Nursing Home.
Mrs. Adams was born July 9, 1929, in Portland, Maine, and had lived in Buckner for the past several years. She was a homemaker, and a Jehovah's Witness. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan Siedler.
Her survivors include four daughters, Linda L. Tate and Lorrie A. Smith, both of San Diego, Anita M. Stroud, Buckner, and Karen J. Granahan, Blue Springs; one brother, Robert Saunders, Florida; one sister, Norma Twombly; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Buckner Hill cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association, for emphysema research. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brown Funeral Home, Buckner.
RYAN P. BANKS
Ryan Patrick Banks, infant son of Patrick and Debbie Banks of Blue Springs, died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
Ryan was born Aug. 27, 1998, in Blue Springs.
His survivors also include his maternal grandparents, Richard and Kathy Dickinson, Kansas City; paternal grandparents, Ida Banks, Kansas City, and Ron Banks, Independence; and his maternal great-grandparents, George and Edna Smiley, Raytown, and William and Carroll Dickinson, Kansas City.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John LaLande Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Raytown. A prayer service will be held at 7 tonight at the Carson Blue Ridge Chapel, Kansas City. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Children's Mercy Hospital.
