JAMES B. BOOKER
James Bruce Booker, 79, Independence, died Friday, April 16, 1999, at his home.
Mr. Booker was born Aug. 17, 1919, in Evergreen, Ala., and had lived in Independence for more than 49 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a welder for Armco Steel for 29 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
His survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mittie Booker of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Tonya Booker, Independence; a brother, Morris Booker, Clearwater, Fla.; three sisters, Ruth Booker, Evon Malone, both of Independence, and Jualee Ruck, Rolla, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Heather, James, Christine and Rebecca Booker.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Carondolet of St. Mary's of Blue Springs Hospice.
FRANCIS V. PRESLER II
Francis V. Presler II, 68, Independence, died Friday, June 5, 1998, at his home. Mr. Presler was born July 28, 1929, in Washington City, Colo. He was a chemical engineer for Burns & McDonnell, and an Army veteran. His survivors include his wife, Viola A. Velt Presler of the home; four sons, Francis V. Presler III and Rexford L. Presler, both of Independence, Aaron L. Presler, Lake Lotawana, and Marcus L. Presler, Mission, Kan.; three daughters, Rebekah C. Troyer, Fort Collins, Colo., Wendy C. Presler, North Augusta, S.C., and Jennifer A. Mino, Overland Park, Kan.; three sisters, Shirley Wykoff, Phoenix, Ariz., and Ruth Mehring and Margery Boyer, both of Fort Collins; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ _ Restoration Branch, 16101 Salisbury Road, Independence; cremation. FLORENCE B. DOSTAL
Florence B. Dostal, 88, Kansas City, died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at North Kansas City Hospital.
Mrs. Dostal was born March 12, 1910, in Wisner, Neb., and had lived in Kansas City for 40 years. She worked at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant during World War II and was a volunteer for the Della C. Lamb Community Services and the Salvation Army.
Her survivors include two sons, Rudy L. Dostal, Gravois Mills, Mo., and Richard L. Dostal, Sumner, Mo.; a daughter, Betty Anthony, Independence; two sisters, Marian Lipianka, Manitou Springs, Colo., and Alice Strong, Appleton City, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Woodlawn cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a favorite charity. Arrangements are under the direction of the D. W. Newcomer`s Sons Noland Road Chapel.
DONALD LEE LANGE
Donald Lee Lange, 65, Blue Springs, died Friday, June 26, 1998, at St. Mary`s Hospital of Blue Springs.
Mr. Lange was born Oct. 1, 1932, in Concordia, Mo., and lived in Blue Springs for 35 years. He worked for Johnson Electrical Co. in Lenexa, Kan., for 20 years, retiring as a warehouse manager in 1995. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was the deacon of the First Baptist Church of Blue Springs.
His survivors include his wife of 33 years, Janet Lange of the home; a son, Kevin Lange, Blue Springs; a daughter, Diane Fienhage, Creston, Iowa; a brother, Ralph Lange, Concordia, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Webb-Freer Funeral Home in Blue Springs. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in the Blue Springs cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the First Baptist Church of Blue Springs.
FELICE J. ROSE
Felice Jo Finazzo Rose, 68, Bakersfield, Calif., died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at the home of her daughter.
Mrs. Rose was born Jan. 25, 1930, in Kansas City, and had lived in Kansas City and Blue Springs before moving to Omaha, Neb. She
graduated from Glennon High School in Kansas City in 1947. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin H. Rose in 1982.
Her survivors include two sons, Mark Rose of Bakersfield, Calif., and Fred Rose of Lee`s Summit; a daughter, Peggy Myers, of Bakersfield; and a daughter, Paula Rose Mack, of Bakersfield; a sister, Antoinette Foster, Independence; and a brother, Dominic Finazzo, Blue Springs.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John LaLande Catholic Church, Blue Springs. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Sheil Colonial Chapel, where a scripture service will be at 6:30 p.m.
GERALD E. RUSSUM SR.
Gerald E. "Jerry" Russum Sr., 67, Humansville, Mo., died Thursday, June 25, 1998 at the Bolivar Hospital.
Mr. Russum was born Nov. 14, 1930 in Independence, and lived most of his life in Independence. He worked as a machinist for over 40 years. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and attended the East 39th Street and Mount Washington RLDS Church in Independence. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Ann Russum in 1975.
His survivors include his wife, Carolyn Russum of the home; a son, Jerry E. Russum Jr., Holden, Mo.; three daughters, Laura B. Cravens, Independence, Terry L. Shelton, Flemmington, Mo., and Kathy L. Longanecker, Edgerton, Kan.; a brother, Carl E. Russum, McKinley, Texas; two sisters, Mary Lou Francis, Sugar Creek, and Loretta Shaw, Hurst, Texas; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Speaks Midtown Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. EDWARD LOUIS SACK
Edward Louis Sack, 35, Lee`s Summit, died Thursday, June 25, 1998 at Menorah Medical Center.
Mr. Sack was born May 25, 1963, in Independence and lived in the Independence and Blue Springs areas most of his life. He worked for Sprint and was a member of St. John LaLande Catholic Church.
His survivors include his wife, Tammy Sack of the home; his children, Jamie, Jesse, and Megan, of the home; his father and stepmother, Louis and Bobbie Sack, Sunrise Beach, Mo.; his mother, Dorothy Sack, Independence; two brothers, Alan Sack, Shawnee, Kan., and Ricky Sack, Independence; and a sister, Debbie Milburn, Independence.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary`s Catholic Church, Independence. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, Independence.
JERRY "GUNNER" CLARK
Jerry "Gunner" Clark, 57, Pleasant Hill, died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at his home.
Mr. Clark was born March 29, 1941, in St. Joseph, Mo., and had lived in Nebraska before moving to Pleasant Hill. He attended school in Nebraska and graduated from high school in Reynolds, Neb. He worked at the Pleasant Hill Veneer Plant for about 10 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Pleasant Hill.
His survivors include his wife, Mary Clark of Pleasant Hill; a brother, Sam Clark, Pleasant Hill; a sister, Valerie Becker, Blue Springs; three children; and many other relatives.
Graveside services were Monday at the Lone Jack cemetery under the direction of the Wallace Funeral home. Arrangements were under the direction of the Wallace Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill.
DONALD A. HOBERECHT
Donald A. Hoberecht, 60, of Buckner, died on Tuesday, June 30, 1998, at the Medical Center of Independence.
He was born Nov. 15, 1937, in Boonville, Mo. Mr. Hoberecht was a member of the Catholic Church of the Santa Fe. He was a Navy Air Force veteran. He worked for Lake City Munitions Plant for more than 20 years as a manufacturing engineer. He served as chairman and executive board member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
His survivors include his parents, Aubrey M. and Alverta Hoberecht, Raytown; his wife, Norma "Jean" Hoberecht of the home; three sons, Donald A. Hoberecht Jr., Raytown, Steven P. Hoberecht, Lincoln, Mo., and Brad Hall, Sibley; two daughters, Jane Nash, Independence, and Teresa Jenkins, Buckner; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Catholic Church of the Santa Fe, 231 S. Sibley St., Buckner. Burial will be in Buckner Hill cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home, 300 Adams, Buckner, where the rosary will be said at 8 p.m. The family suggests contributions to the church building fund.
ELMER C. MORRIS SR.
Elmer C. Morris Sr., 73, Independence, died Monday, June 29, 1998, at the Medical Center of Independence.
Mr. Morris was born July 3, 1924, in Oak Grove, and was a lifelong area resident. He was a pipe fitter for the Ford Motor Co., retiring in 1984. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1000 in Independence and Blue Springs American Legion Post 499. He was also a member of St. Mary`s Catholic Church, Masonic Lodge A.F.&A.M. 76, Ararat Shrine Temple, Scottish Rite and the Eagles.
His survivors include his wife, Iva Morris of the home; two sons, Robert Larry Morris, Lakewood, Mo., and E.C. Morris Jr., Independence; one daughter, Betty Feeney, Independence; one brother, Harl Morris, Blue Springs; two sisters, Louise Cutsall, Blue Springs, and Mary Story, Independence; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Cremation. The family suggests contributions to the Ararat Temple for Handicapped Children. Arrangements are under the direction of the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel.
WILLIAM R. "BILL" PAYNE
William R. "Bill" Payne, 93, St. Joseph, Mo., formerly of Independence, died Monday, June 29, 1998, at Beverly Manor, St. Joseph.
Mr. Payne was born Sept. 30, 1904, in Independence. He had lived in Independence from 1990 to 1993, and Lebanon, Mo., from 1993 to 1997; moving to St. Joseph in 1997. He was a standing engineer for the City of Independence Power and Light for 38 years, retiring in 1975. He was a Christian. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mary Sheer.
His survivors include a stepdaughter, DoLores Hadley, Independence; four stepgrandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Odessa cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home.

Donald A. Hoberecht, 60, of Buckner, died on Tuesday, June 30, 1998, at the Medical Center of Independence.

CHARLES E. LYNCH
Charles Edward Lynch, 77, Independence, died Monday, June 29, 1998, at Park Lane Hospital.
Mr. Lynch was born July 13, 1920, in Kansas City, and was a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Postal clerk for 26 years, retiring in 1978, and a member of the National Association for Retired Federal Employees. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of American Legion Post 21 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1000. He was also a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus 3430.
His survivors include his wife, Jessie Lynch of the home; one son, Larry Lynch, Independence; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Doug Smith, Springfield, Mo.; one brother, Herbert Lynch, Kansas City; one sister, Viola Pierce, Sun City, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Raytown, where military services will be held by American Legion Post 21. Friends may call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the church.
ELLA E. MAJERSKY
Ella E. Majersky, 84, Independence, died Monday, June 29, 1998, at the Medical Center of Independence.
Mrs. Majersky was born July 18, 1913, and had lived in Independence most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary`s Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Majersky in 1953, and a daughter, Enola F. Burroughs.
Her survivors include one daughter, Betty A. Underwood, and one sister, Emma Dye, both of Independence; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church; cremation. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 tonight at D.W. Newcomer`s Sons Noland Road Chapel, where the rosary will be said at 8 p.m.

BARBARA J. OLSON
Barbara J. Olson, 66, Independence, died Monday, June 29, 1998, at Independence Regional Health Center.
Ms. Olson was born Jan. 15, 1932, in Independence, and had lived most of her life in Independence. She worked for Dolgin`s in North Kansas City for several years before working at Independence Regional Health Center, where she retired in 1997. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda S. House in 1997.
Her survivors include a son, Howard D. Olson, Independence; two daughters, Kathy L. MacDonnell, Olathe, Kan., and Karen L. Shumate, Ottawa, Kan.; a brother, A. Wayne Weeks, Independence; two grandsons, Scott Baird and Derek House; four granddaughters, Beth Olson, Rebecca MacDonnell, Melissa MacDonnell and Josie Sembler; and two great-granddaughters, Samantha Baird and Tabitha Baird.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. Friends may call from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
