Grace E. Horn of Bismarck, formerly of Farmington, passed away on June 7, 2004, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, as a result of an automobile accident at the age of 64 years.
She was born on May 30, 1940, in Cumberland County, NC, the daughter of the late Ben and Agnes Pearl (Russ) Packer.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marion Horn, brother, Norman Packer and sister, Myrtle Wilson. She is survived by two sons, Randy Horn and wife Vickie of Farmington, and Dale Horn and wife Karen of Bismarck, three daughters, Kathy Puckett and husband Steven of Bismarck, Mary Martin and husband Alan of Wichita, KS, and Judy Hammers and husband Marion of Park Hills, two brothers, Howard and Bennie Packer, and two sisters, Wilma Yarbrough and Faye Royal, 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many cherished friends also survive.
Mrs. Horn was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW # 6947. A VFW service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.

Virginia Leigh Iams of Farmington passed away on June 7, 2004, at Parkland Health Center, at the age of 92 years.
She was born on July 24, 1911, in St. Joseph, the daughter of the late Amos and Edith (Hunt) Utz.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, William D. Iams, and sister, Elizabeth Marshall.
She will be sadly missed by her son, James L. Iams and wife Chris of Berkeley, CA, a nephew, David Marshall of Franklin, TN, and many friends from Farmington Presbyterian Church and Presbyterian Manor.
Virginia moved to Sullivan in 1933 to teach school. She married William Iams in 1938.
She was the first woman to be elected to the Sulivan School Board of Education.
She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church as an Elder, Deacon and Trustee, as well as a Sunday school teacher.
She was also a member of the Sullivan Public Library Board. She moved to the Presbyterian Manor in May of 1989, and enjoyed volunteering in the gift shop.

Irene Lila Eden of Farmington passed away on July 3, 2004, at Camelot Nursing Center, at the age of 99 years.
She was born on October 24, 1904, at Doe Run, the daughter of the late Joseph David and Sophia A. (Sutherland) Crader.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Joseph Martin Eden, three brothers, Julius, Monroe and Bart, and three sisters, Estelle, Virginia and Lottie. She is survived by a son, Donald L. Eden of Lemay, and a daughter, Norma J. Marler of Farmington, three grandchildren, Allan Marler, John Eden and Donna Lampert, three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Mrs. Eden was a Charter Member of the Three Rivers Baptist Church, where she had taught Sunday school for 55 years.
She will be deeply missed by her fellow church members.

William “Bill” Charles Sikes of Coolidge, GA, passed away on July 1, 2004, at the age of 51 years.
He was born on July 17, 1952, at Bonne Terre, the son of Gale “G. G.” and Dorothy Sikes of Farmington and Anna Ruth (Ellison) Rothwell of Wichita, KS.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Denise Sikes and his grandparents.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jackie (Snyder) Sikes, a daughter, Anna Sikes of the home, a son, Russ Skinner of Statesboro, GA, a sister, Katherine Stegink of Wichita, KS. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many cherished friends also survive.

Edna Genevieve Link of Farmington passed away on July 6, 2004, at her residence, at the age of 86 years.
She was born on August 15, 1917, at Festus, MO, the daughter of the late Eli and Bertha (Warren) Janis.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Link, fours sisters, and five brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Annabelle Francis and husband, Rodger, a granddaughter, Janis Francis, and a grandson, Rodger C. Francis, II, all of Farmington.
Several friends and other relatives also survive. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Florence Leota Highley of Queens City, MO passed away on July 9, 2004, at Schuyler County Nursing Home at the age of 92 years.
She was born on January 17, 1912, the daughter of the late Harry and Molly (Harrison) Highley.
She is survived by a nephew, Dennis Lincoln and wife, Kathy of Kirksville, MO, a cousin, Florence Hawn of Farmington, friends, and other relatives also survive.

Rachel Jensen of Farmington passed away on July 16, 2004, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 90 years. She was born on October 2, 1913, in St. Francois County, the daughter of the late Rufus and Josephine Murphy. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Mike Jensen, and a close friend, Bill Cepicky. She is survived by a son, Paul “Pete” and wife, Connie Jensen of Knob Lick, MO, four grandchildren, James Wooldridge of Festus, MO, Robert Wooldridge of Columbia, MO, John Wooldridge and wife Tami of Knob Lick, Jeani (Mrs. J.C.) Roberts of Fredericktown, six great-grandchildren, Christy, Andrea, Christopher, Kiersten, Tori, and Brady, and three great-great grandchildren, Natalie, Jaden, and Kyleigh.
Mrs. Jensen retired from Trimfoot Shoe Factory. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and making pies for the family holidays.

She was born on May 20, 1930, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late Noah and Mimi (Qorkque) Cecil. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Connell. She is survived by five daughters, Darlene, Geraldine, Ruthy, Sandra, and Edith, three sons, Edward, Earnest, and Michael, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Glenda Viola Maxine Niswonger of Farmington passed away on July 22, 2004, at St. Louis University Hospital, at the age of 84 years. She was born on August 24, 1919, at Marquand, the daughter of the late James Frank and Bertha Viola (Huggins) Gibbs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Doc Niswonger, two sisters, Edith Lefler and Dorothy Homan, and four brothers, Solan, Thomas, Gale and Vernon Gibbs. She is survived by three sisters, Stella Lux of Marquand, Marie Gibbs of Farmington and Wanda (Mrs. Elvis) Chandler of Granite City, IL, four brothers, James Gibbs and wife Emily of Granite City, Il, Harry Gibbs, Sr. and wife Naomi of Park Hills and Bill Gibbs and wife Lanell of Farmington. Jimmie Dale Parr, Sr. of Fredericktown passed away on July 25, 2004, at Parkland Health Center, at the age of 70 years. He was born on October 19, 1933, in Mississippi County, MO, the son of the late Andy and Monica (Mathis) Parr. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth M. Parr, step-father, Clyde Hutton, and two brothers, Paul and Russell Parr. He is survived by three sons, Jimmie Dale Parr, Jr. and Louis Parr, both of Fredericktown, and Jammie Dale of St. Louis, two daughters, Christina Taylor of St. Louis and Denise (Ed) Pienkowski of Festus, a brother, James Parr and wife Sherry of Albany, GA, eleven grandchildren and eight great-children.
