KELLAR
David John Kellar, 37, Tokyo, Japan, formerly of Jefferson City, died Sept. 17, 1999, in Tokyo.
He was born Dec. 31, 1961, in Seattle, a son of Kenneth K. and Betty R. Bagby Kellar, who survive in Jefferson City. He was married Dec. 19, 1987, in Tokyo, to Chieko Kikkawa, who survives at the home.
A 1981 graduate of Jefferson City High School, he received degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1986.
He was a partner in Access Media Technologies in Japan, a company that identifies emerging foreign markets for computer hardware and software companies.
Other survivors include: three brothers, Steven Kellar and Scott Kellar, both of Chicago, and Dan Kellar, Columbia; and one sister, Susan Wright, Lee's Summit.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Doyle Sager will officiate.
Visitation will be from 6:30-9 p.m. Tuesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
BIRK
Alphonse E. Birk, 92, Jefferson City, formerly of Morrison, died Sept. 25, 1999, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Jan. 22, 1907, in Morrison, a son of John P. and Bertha Jacquin Birk. He was married May 18, 1937, in Linn, to Pearl E. Smith, who survives at the home.
He was a radio operator for the Army Corps of Engineers' Gasconade Boat Yard. He also had worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and the Railway Express.
Other survivors include: one son, Donald L. Birk, Jefferson City; two daughters, Eloise Cramer, Jefferson City, and Sharon Samson, Pawnee, Ill.; one brother, Oscar Birk, Morrison; one sister, Lydia Kowalski, St. Petersburg, Fla.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Assumption Church, Morrison. The Rev. Pat Dowling will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, Morrison, with a wake service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Masses.
BLACKWELL
Ula Belle Blackwell, 95, Jefferson City, died Sept. 23, 1999, at St. Joseph's Home for the Aged.
She was born July 22, 1904, in Bonne Terre, a daughter of William E. and Clara Belle Turley Blackwell.
A graduate of William Woods College in Fulton, she worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue for 27 years until her retirement in 1977.
She was a member of Russellville United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star Eugene Chapter 386 and Order of Jerusalem Temple Shrine 7.
Services will be at 7 p.m. today at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. The Rev. John Kerr will officiate. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Moon Town Cemetery, DeSoto.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today, with an Eastern Star service at 6 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Russellville United Methodist Church.
FAKER
E. Frances Faker, 77, Eugene, died Sept. 24, 1999, at her home.
She was born March 1, 1922, at Tebbetts. She was married Sept. 19, 1952, in Oklahoma, to Eugene F. Faker, who survives at the home.
She attended schools in Eldorado, Kan., and worked as a beautician in Wichita, Kan., for several years.
She moved to the Jefferson City area in 1952 and worked for Chesebrough-Pond's for 17 years before her retirement in 1983. She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church.
Other survivors include: one son, John Whitaker, Arlington, Wash.; three daughters, Marcia Warren, Walnut, Calif., Muriel Kent, Jefferson City, and Marla Monger, Wellington, Kan.; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Peace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Micah A. Ernst will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Freeman Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
MILLER
Mary Margaret Miller, 71, Columbia, died Sept. 24, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 8, 1927, in Boone County, a daughter of Theodore and Margaret Gaithwright Russell. She was married in 1950 to David L. Noble, who died in 1965. She later was married to Herman T. Miller, who survives at the home.
She was a graduate of Columbia's Douglas High School and later was employed by the Central Missouri Counties' Human Development Corp.
She was the first African American to be project director for the Columbia Housing Authority, when she was hired in 1967, and later served one year as the agency's interim executive director.
She was the first black to be hired as executive director of the Boone County Human Development Corp., from which she had retired.
She wrote and helped implement proposals including providing day care services for working parents, a recreation and meals program for senior citizens, and building an elevated crosswalk over Providence Road in Columbia.
With the help of the dean and some University of Missouri-Columbia Law School graduate students, she convinced the Legal Services Corp. to expand Boone County's Legal Aid program into Mid-Missouri Legal Services, which covers eight counties.
She was a founding member of Planned Parenthood of Central Missouri, the "Sho Me" Credit Union and the Central Missouri Food Bank Network.
She had received the Martin Luther King Award for Community Service from Gov. Mel Carnahan.
She was a member of the 5th Street Christian Church.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Donna Noble Cavitte, Jefferson City, and Jaynae Miller, Los Angeles; and one grandson.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, Columbia. The Rev. Hanna H. Tommey will officiate.
No visitation is scheduled.

QUICK
Pamela Iris Quick, 72, Eldon, died Sept. 24, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born April 26, 1927, in Wiggin, England, a daughter of Ralph and Bertha Ivy Bradbury Percival. She was married April 14, 1945, in St. Helen's, England, to William Quick, who died May 9, 1998.
She had worked in the food service business and in sales for several department stores.
Survivors include: two sons, Mike Quick and Keith Quick, both of Eldon; three daughters, Allison Schneider and Julia Stroessner, both of Lake Ozark, and Sue Tennenbaum, St. Louis; two brothers, Alec Percival and Keith Percival, both of England; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
No formal services are scheduled.
Entombment will be in the Lake Memorial Gardens Praying Hands Mausoleum outside Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach, immediately following the visitation from 2-4 p.m. Monday.

GEIER
Roger Geier, 83, California, died Sept. 25, 1999, at Moniteau Care Center, California.
Arrangements are incomplete at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
GLASCOCK
Berniece P. Glascock, 78, Hartsburg, died Sept. 25, 1999, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
She was born May 5, 1921, in Blackwater, a daughter of August and Pauline Lieneky Begemann. She was married Nov. 6, 1941, in Hartsburg, to Estil D. "Pud" Glascock, who died April 23, 1993.
She was employed as a beautician at the House Beautiful Salon, Columbia, for more than 35 years. She then worked at New Image, Ashland.
She was a member of Goshen Primitive Baptist Church, Hartsburg; American Legion Auxiliary Post 152; Order of the Eastern Star 309, Ashland; the Ashland Senior Center; and the Hartsburg card-playing group.
Survivors include: one son, Jerome Glascock, Hartsburg; one sister, Deloris Reeder, Hartsburg; three brothers, Paul "Pete" Begemann, Hartsburg, Robert "Buck" Begemann, Columbia, and August Begemann Jr., Henley; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland. Marvine Tolle will officiate. Burial will be in Woodcrest Cemetery, Ashland.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

HOLSOPPLE
Clara Ann Holsopple, 58, Versailles, died Sept. 25, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 2, 1940, near Versailles, a daughter of Lewis A. and Anna Schantz Holsopple.
She worked in the housekeeping department of Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles, for 27 years. She was a member of Cornerstone Church of Versailles.
She is survived by one brother, John Holsopple, Versailles.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cornerstone Church of Versailles. The Rev. Dale Bentch will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. today at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
