FELBER
Ella Myrtle Felber, 78, Jefferson City, died Sept. 20, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born March 8, 1921, in Russellville, a daughter of Elmer and Georgia Murray Campbell. She was married April 18, 1942, in Jefferson City, to Charles Jasper Felber, who survives at the home.
She was employed with Curtis-Wright in St. Louis during World War II. She operated her own day care center for 20 years in St. Louis, where she lived from 1941 to 1982. She moved to Russellville in 1982, and then to Jefferson City in 1987. She was a member of Russellville Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, Harvey Dale Felber, Signal Hill, Calif., and James Felber, Jefferson City; two daughters, Jean Ligeno, Davenport, Iowa, and Rita Eggers, St. Louis; one brother, Charles Campbell, Jefferson City; two sisters, May Robertson and Helen Macklin, both of St. Louis; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Russellville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville.
Memorials are suggested to Russellville Baptist Church.
GUTHRIE
Services were today for James Dale Guthrie, 56, High Gate, who died Sept. 18, 1999, at his home.
He was born Feb. 19, 1943, in Marshall, Ark., a son of Harvey and Annie Still Guthrie. He was married to Roberta Guthrie, who survives in St. James.
He worked in construction as a dry wall finisher.
He had lived in Gilbert, Ark.
Other survivors include: one son, Jimmy Guthrie, Harrison, Ark.; two daughters, Angela Guthrie, Rogers, Ark., and Jill Bradley-Guthrie, Harrison; one brother, Herbert Guthrie, Washington state; one sister, Mae Hall, state of Utah; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were in Osborn Cemetery, St. Joe, Ark. The Rev. Roger Reid officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.
JAMES
E. Richard James, 58, Eldon, died Sept. 20, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Jan. 23, 1941, in Poplar Bluff, a son of John and Dora Miller James. His mother survives in St. Louis. He was married Sept. 16, 1963, in St. Louis, to Glenda Sue Birdnow, who survives at the home.
He worked as a machine operator and truck driver. He attended Bible Way Church in Eldon.
Other survivors include: six sons, Ernie Richard James Jr., Texarkana, Texas , Randall Lee James, Pacific, Robert Dean James, St. Louis, Ronald Perry James, Wright City, and Terry Wayne James and Richard Cam James, both of San Diego; one daughter, Kimberley May Besotes, Eldon; three brothers, Ernie James, Potosi, Lester James, Chicago, and Wesley James, St. Louis County; 24 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
One son, Lennis Loveon James, died Sept. 20, 1992.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today.
LAWSON
Mary Elizabeth Lawson, 94, Laurie, died Sept. 20, 1999, at Laurie Care Center.
She was born May 4, 1905, in St. Joseph, a daughter of Albert F. and Clara Belle Dugan Vogtman. She was married to Raymond Clark Lawson, who died May 30, 1970.
Survivors include: one son, Robert Gene Lawson, Santa Maria, Calif.; one daughter, Marian Elizabeth Zimmerman, Gravois Mills; two sisters; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Thursday in Valley Oaks Memorial Park Cemetery, Westlake Village, Calif.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.
SOMMERER
Kermit William Sommerer, 79, Brazito, died Sept. 20, 1999, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Jefferson City.
He was born May 15, 1920, in Brazito, a son of David F.A. and Anna Margaret Hirschman Sommerer.
He had farmed in the Brazito area his entire life.
He is survived by one sister, LaVern Schubert, Jefferson City.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit. The Rev. Raymond McCallister will officiate. Burial will be in the Sommerer Family Cemetery, Brazito.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday.
SOUDERS
Minnie F. Souders, 91, Cuba, died Sept. 21, 1999, in Steelville.
She was born May 14, 1908, in Bland, a daughter of Henry C. and Ida Leimkuehler Ridder. She was married Aug. 31, 1932, in Oak Hill, to Ervin R. Souders, who died Sept. 20, 1991.
Survivors include: one son, Ralph Souders, Steelville; one daughter, Lois J. Williams, Holts Summit; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba. The Rev. Bob Houchins will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cuba.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday.
FRICKE
Roberta J. Fricke, 59, Lupus, died Sept. 21, 1999, in Lupus.

Claud E. Parker, 90, Clarksburg, died Sept. 22, 1999, at California Care Center.

NORWOOD
John E. Norwood, 79, Jefferson City, died Sept. 23, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born June 23, 1920, in Jefferson City, a son of Everett J. and Bernice Wheeler Norwood. He was married Oct. 31, 1942, in Fort Sill, Okla., to Mabel Trippensee, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of World War II, he received a Silver Star and Purple Heart. He was employed as a mechanical engineer at Natkin and Company for 40 years.
He was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral.
Other survivors include: four daughters, Linda Dianne Garcia and Peggy Norwood, both of Phoenix, Jan Kallenberger, Jefferson City, and Sister Marilyn Norwood, Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, Ted Norwood, St. Louis; two sisters, Madeleine Porter, El Paso, Texas , and Mitzi Prenger, Jefferson City; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at St. Joseph Cathedral. The Rev. Fred Elskamp will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at the cathedral.
Memorials are suggested to the Samaritan Center.

WITTEN
Opal O. Witten, 85, Eldon, died Sept. 22, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born April 4, 1914, in Etterville, a daughter of Samuel and Della Mae Williams Wyrick. She was married March 25, 1948, in Tuscumbia, to Robert M. Witten, who died Feb. 17, 1985.
She was a member of Old Path Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church in Eldon.
She lived in Kansas City, Kan., before moving to Eldon in 1980.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sue Kaiser, Eldon, and Carolyn Sears, Meridianville, Ala.; one son, Thomas D. Tillery, Wilmington, Del.; one brother, Floyd Wyrick, Kansas City, Kan.; one sister, Lucille Howard, Kansas City, Kan.; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Two sons, Joey Krimscheider and Robert J. Witten, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Jerry Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Garden Cemetery, Eugene.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.
