Linda S. Bohrer

MONROE CITY - Linda Sue Bohrer, 55, of rural Monroe City, died at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at her farm home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Holy Rosary Church in Monroe City. The Rev. David Rice will officiate. Burial will be at St. Jude Cemetery in Monroe City.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Garner Funeral Home & Chapel in Monroe City.
Mrs. Bohrer was born July 13, 1946, in Hannibal to George K. and Mary Francis Wilson Pendelton.
She was married to Charles Lee Bohrer on Nov. 26, 1964, in Marion County. He survives.
Other survivors include her mother, Mary Francis Wunderlich of Monroe City; two sons, Randy Lynn Bohrer and Robert Wesley Bohrer, both of Monroe City; two daughters, Susan Lee Bohrer and Marsha Ann Moss, both of Monroe City; one sister, Mary Gail Ricks of Trenton, Ill.; four grandchildren, Sarar Renee Ishmaul, Jennifer Lynn Bohrer, Jesica Lyan Foster and Brad Wesley Bohrer, all of Monroe City.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Mrs. Bohrer graduated from Monroe City High School with the class of 1964 and attended Kirksville State Teachers College. She was a member of Mount Vernon Methodist Church in Marion County. For 34 years she served as secretary to the principal at Monroe City High School, and served as transportation director and athletic director before her illness.
Memorials may be made to the Monroe City Nutrition Center.
Pallbearers will be Carl Beaver, Sonny Dowell, Don Abell, Bret Grinde, Todd Hays and Ryan Bohrer.
Arline Hays
April 26, 1916 - Jan. 12, 2002
BOWLING GREEN - Arline Hays, 85, of Bowling Green, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at Country View Nursing Facilities.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Kirks Funeral Chapel in Bowling Green. The Rev. Andrew O'Dowd will officiate. Burial will be at New Hartford Keith Cemetery in New Hartford.
Mrs. Hays was born April 26, 1916, near New Hartford in Pike County to Robert E. and Ona Wright Chernault.
She was married to Harold Hays. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Kemberly Hill of Albuquerque, N.M., and Norma Lee Crim of Bowling Green.
The family wishes to include as survivors her son-in-law, Norman Crim; her brother-in-law, John T. Hays of Bowling Green; and her sister-in-law, Helen Morris of Bowling Green.
Mrs. Hays had been a manager at Bobby Brooks Garment Factory in Bowling Green.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
Pallbearers will be Tom Sutton, Wayne Young, Walter Eoff, Randy Hill, Bud Allen and William Crim.
Earleen Kane
May 6, 1943 - Jan. 11, 2002
CLARENCE - Frances Earlene Kane, 58, of Excello, died at approximately 5:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at Clarence Care Center in Clarence.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Chapel in Clarence. Brother Donnie Baumann will officiate. Burial will be at Woodville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kane was born May 6, 1943, in Glasgow to Donald Price and Frances Evelyn Turner Kaneer.
She was married to Charlie Kane on Dec. 31, 1989, in Woodville. He survives.
Survivors include one son, Eric Barnes of Clarence; two daughters, Lois Faucett of Moberly and Cindy Johnson of Cairo; one stepson, Timothy Kane of Cambridge, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; five sisters, Ruth Southern of Center, Jean Fuemmeller of Glascow, Ethel Baumann of Huntsville, Peggy Niemeier of New Cambria and Sandra Engel of Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant brother, Donald James Kaneer; and one sister, Virginia Straub.
Mrs. Kane was a nurses' aide. She was a Christian by faith.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Minnie M. Fischer
June 25, 1910 - Jan. 13, 2002
LOUISIANA - Minnie Mary Fischer, 91, of Florissant and formerly of Louisiana, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at Delmar Gardens North Nursing Home in Florissant.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Kenneth Schamber will officiate. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Fischer was born June 25, 1910, in Cole Camp to John and Clara Schultz Monsees.
She was married to Clarence Mathias Fischer on June 28, 1931, in Lincoln, Mo. He preceded her in death May 15, 1997.
Survivors include one daughter, Thelma Carlson of Florissant; one son, Robert Fischer of Palm Coast, Fla.; five grandsons, Neal Carlson of Florissant, Dale Carlson of Carboro, N.C., Brian Carlson of Wildwood, Robert L. Fischer of Burke, Va., and John A. Fischer of San Diego, Calif.; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Fischer Morgan of Woodbridge, Va.; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to include as survivors, one son-in-law, Gus Carlson; one daughter-in-law, Kathleen Fischer; and one sister-in-law, Arlene Monsees of Sedalia.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Peters and Elmer Monsees; and one sister, Melba Schultz.
Jo Buffington

HANNIBAL - Norma Jo Buffington, 74, of Hannibal, died at 4:40 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Dr. James Bruns will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Buffington was born Dec. 9, 1927, in Center to Richard J. and Mary M. Jackson Hunt.
She was married to Robert E. Buffington Sr. on Jan. 23, 1945, in Palmyra. He survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Linda Buffington of the home and Judy Locke of Hannibal; two sons, Robert E. Buffington Jr. of Hannibal and Darrell J. Buffington of Milwaukee, Wis.; one sister, Maggie Pipkin of Hannibal; eight grandchildren, Jamie Locke, Trey Buffington, Heather Buffington, Branham Buffington, Whitney Locke, Ben Buffington, Alicia Buffington and Jessie Buffington.
The family wishes to include as survivors, one son-in-law, Dan Locke; two daughters-in-law, Joyce Buffington and Lisa Buffington; one granddaughter-in-law, Ann Locke; and one great-grandchild, Logan Locke.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Uva Smith, Irene McBride, Marjorie Murphy and Erma Thomas; and one brother, Eugene Hunt.
Mrs. Buffington was a homemaker and a member of Fifth Street Baptist Church in Hannibal.
Memorials may be made to Fifth Street Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Locke, Trey Buffington, Branham Buffington, Ben Buffington, Richard Murphy, Heather Buffington, Whitney Locke, Alicia Buffington and Jessie Buffington.
Richard L. Green

FRANKFORD - Richard (Dick) Louis Green, 62, of Frankford, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
A memorial service is pending at a later date. Final interment will be at the Bowling Green Cemetery. The Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Frankford is in charge of arrangements.
There will be no visitation.
Mr. Green was born Jan. 4, 1940, in Quincy, Ill., to Clarence Glen and Nellie Perry Green.
Survivors include one son, J.R. Green of Carbondale, Ill.; two daughters, Linda Fleming of Davenport, Iowa, and Priscilla Green of Carbondale; four grandchildren, Heather Crabtree, Brandon Fleming, Cara Fleming and Jeremiah Green; and two sisters, Juanita Hansen of Curryville and Opal Helen Ulry of Louisiana.
The family wishes to include as survivors, two great-grandchildren, Devin Vanderkamp and Braden Crabtree; and several nieces and nephews, including one nephew, Bobby Green of Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clarence (Buddy) Green and Robert (Bobby) Green; and one infant son, Richard Louis Green Jr.
Mr. Green was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Cecil A. Waddell
Jan. 18, 1925 - Jan. 14, 2002
HANNIBAL - Cecil A. Waddell, 76, of Hannibal, died at 7:18 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. Dr. Donald Brodhacker and Pastor Kent Lewis will officiate. The Smith Funeral Home in Hannibal is in charge of arrangements.
There will be no visitation.
Mrs. Waddell was born Jan. 18, 1925, in Busch to Robert Lee and Bertha Ellen Gillette Moore.
She was married to Carol Waddell on April 8, 1946, in Hannibal. He preceded her in death July 22, 1994.
Survivors include one son, Richard C. Waddell of Hannibal; one granddaughter, Tricia Asquith of Perry; one stepgrandson, Jonathan Brodhacker of Hannibal; and one sister, Lucille Bullard of Los Angeles, Calif.
The family wishes to include as survivors, two great-grandsons, Kody Asquith and Kameron Asquith, both of Perry; one daughter-in-law, Michelle Waddell; and one grandson-in-law, Tim Asquith; and a special friend, Carolyn Waddell.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Gertrude Leake.
Mrs. Waddell was a member of Arch United Methodist Church in Hannibal.
Memorials may be made to the great-grandchildren's education fund.
Pallbearers will be Scott Michaels, Ken Franklin, Scott Yargus, Bob Werner, Tim Asquith and Joseph Weekly.
Clarence H. Powell
Aug. 1, 1915 - Jan. 13, 2002
BOWLING GREEN - Clarence (Billy) Howard Powell, 86, of Bowling Green, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at the Country View Nursing Home in Bowling Green.
There will be no services or visitation. Final disposition will be at the Memorial Park Crematory in St. Louis.
The Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Powell was born Aug. 1, 1915.
He had been a resident of the Country View Nursing Home for four years.
Ernest E. Shear
HANNIBAL - Ernest E. Shear, 67, of Hannibal, died at 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Funeral services are pending at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.
Alberta Yager
Feb. 19, 1909 - Jan. 13, 2002
MONROE CITY - Alberta Lou Yager, 92, of Monroe Manor in Paris and formerly of Monroe City, died at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at Monroe Manor.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Garner Funeral Chapel in Monroe City. The Rev. Peggie Jeffries will officiate. Burial will be at St. Jude Cemetery in Monroe City.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of services today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Yager was born Feb. 19, 1909, in Ralls County to James Sterling and Neppie Musgrove Bush.
She was married to Shelby L. Yager on Feb. 28, 1926, in Paris. He preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1974.
Survivors include one granddaughter, Sarah Bates of Paris; one grandson, Leslie Yager of the state of Arkansas; two great-granddaughters, Debbie Playter of Paris and Michelle Bates of Columbia; and two great-great-granddaughters, Sydnee and Raigan Playter, both of Paris.
The family wishes to include as a survivor, one grandson-in-law, Richard Bates.
She was preceded in death by one son, William F. Yager; and one sister, Marie Shively.
Mrs. Yager attended Ralls County country schools and was a member of the Monroe City Methodist Church. She worked for the Henderson Produce Co. in Monroe City for many years.
