Germaine E. Williams

HANNIBAL ­ Germaine E. Williams, 91, of Hannibal, died at 5:40 p.m. Jan. 12, 2000, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grand View Funeral Chapel in Hannibal. The Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park.

Mrs. Williams was born April 5, 1908, in Monroe County to William and Anna Belle Cruser Sullivan.

She was married to Claude M. Williams on Jan. 29, 1929, in Hannibal. He preceded her in death April 1, 1967.

Survivors include one son, Claude Williams of Hannibal; and two sisters, Arvada Misner of Hannibal and Ethel Marie Herring of Bonner Springs, Kan.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles William Sullivan and Milton Sullivan; and four sisters, Mallisa Piercy, Mary Ruth Ward, Almo Glascock and Vivian Sullivan.

Mrs. Williams was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe City. For many years, she was employed in the packing room at International Shoe Company of Hannibal.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Betty J. McCune

VIRGINIA, Minn. ­ Betty J. McCune, 68, of Virginia, Minn., died Jan. 10, 2000, at the Virginia Regional Medical Center.

A Mass of Christian burial for Ms. McCune will be at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia. Father Lloyd Mudrak will be the celebrant. Inturnment will be at the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery.

Ms. McCune was born Feb. 2, 1931, in Mount Sterling, Ill., to James R. and Katherine M. Herbster Wagner.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary P. Sullivan of Virginia; five sons, Robert W. McCune of Quincy, Ill., Louis W. McCune of New London, Charles A. McCune of Hannibal, Arthur J. McCune of Palmyra and Greg M. McCune of Columbia; two sisters, Marjorie Keppner of Quincy, and Eleanor Lodgston of Mount Sterling; two brothers, Donald Wagner of Virginia and James Wagner Jr. of Quincy; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Roger Lee McCune; one great-grandson, Louis Wayne McCune; one sister, Marilyn Wells; and two brothers, Richard Wagner and George Wagner; and her former husband, Loren W. McCune.

Ms. McCune was a longtime resident of Quincy and also lived in Hannibal before moving to Virginia in 1979. She was a homemaker and a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. until time of services today at the church.

The Bauman Family Funeral Home, Bauman-Cron Chapel, in Virginia, Minn. is in charge of arrangements.

Lora Elizabeth Boots

LOUISIANA ­ Lora Elizabeth Boots, 75, of Louisiana, died Jan. 13, 2000, at the Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana.

Funeral services for Mrs. Boots will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. Brother Randy William Boots will officiate. Burial will be at the Bethany Cemetery near Louisiana.

Mrs. Boots was born Aug. 29, 1924, in Louisiana to George and Dola Dickson Motley.

She was married to Walter Boots on March 21, 1941. He preceded her in death Oct. 31, 1983.

Survivors include one son, Walter G. Boots of Louisiana; one daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Garcia of Texas City, Texas; nine grandchildren, Walter A. Boots, Cheri Boots Sutton, Melissa Stoops, Elizabeth Summers, Randy Boots, Richard Boots, Gilbert Harrison, Belinda Millinder and Chris Harrison; 18 great-grandchildren; and six brothers, Elmer Motley, Raymond Motley, Ray Motley, Roy Motley, Paul Motley and Howard Motley.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Fred Bolton, Ernest Motley, Willie Motley, Clarence Motley and George Motley; and one sister, Mary Preston.

Mrs. Boots was a member of the Christian Church of Rockport, Ill.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the St. Judes Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., in care of Collier Funeral Homes Inc. in Louisiana.

Pallbearers will be Dean Sutton, Gilbert Harrison, Randy Boots, Richard Boots, Howard Motley and Jeremiah Sutton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mack Preston, George Preston, Roger Preston, Paul Wayne Motley and Chris Harrison.

Hazel Minnerly

ST. PATRICK ­ Hazel Minnerly, 97, formerly of Canton, died at 1:02 a.m. Jan. 14, 2000, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra.

Funeral services for Mrs. Minnerly will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church in St. Patrick. The Rev. Dave Cox and Brother John Francis Tyrrell will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery.

Mrs. Minnerly was born Dec. 30, 1902, in St. Patrick to Joseph Ambrose and Anna Kirchner Ellison.

She was married Patrick Ignatious (Mace) McDermott on March 1922, and he preceded her in death Aug. 14, 1952. She was later married to Ben Minnerly on Jan. 4, 1955. He preceded her in death March 2, 1991.

Survivors include one son, Joe Henry (Corky) McDermott of Herington, Kan.; one daughter, Anna Lenore (LeAnna) Johnson of Canton; three sisters, Virgie Bender of Canton, and Frankie Kilkenny and Ruby Hunziker, both of Kahoka; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Kate Sweet; and one brother, Elza Ellison.

Mrs. Minnerly had been a cook at St. Patrick School, had worked at Logsdon Store in St. Patrick and had worked at the Canton Glove Factory. She was a member of Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. by the Daughters of Isabella at Davis Funeral Home in Canton.

Memorials may be made to the Shrine of St. Patrick or St. Patrick Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lloyd Boudreau, Ervin Uhlmeyer, Bob Otte, Terry Sweet, Carl Spurgeon and Larry Spurgeon.

Alma Nesbitt

HANNIBAL ­ Alma Nesbitt, 81, of Hannibal, died at 4:13 p.m. Jan. 14, 2000, at her home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nesbitt are pending at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Leslie G. (Sonny) Clark

HULL, Ill. ­ Leslie G. (Sonny) Clark, 82, of Hull, Ill., died at 11:14 p.m. Jan. 13, 2000, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Clark will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Hull United Methodist Church in Hull. Pastor Dorothy Browning will officiate. Burial will be at Akers Chapel Cemetery in rural Hull.

Mr. Clark was born Sept. 19, 1917, in Adams County, Ill., to Tom and Fannie Houston Clark.

He was first married to Evelyn Juanita Richmond on July 13, 1939, in New London. She preceded him in death on Dec. 23, 1995. He was later married to Ann Thorington Parrish on Oct. 6, 1996, in Hull. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, Gary Clark of New Canton, Ill.; one daughter, Sharon Bower of Palmyra; two stepdaughters, Jeanie Cox and Judy Cox, both of Hull; four grandchildren, Kim Rueb, Cheryl Hougland, Kevin Bower and Tammy Harris; four stepgrandchildren, Karen Schanbacher, Christine Cox, Brandon Cox and Andrea Cox; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Viola Batchelor.

Mr. Clark retired from the Illinois Department of Agriculture as an area administrator and also a farmer. He was a member of Hull United Methodist Church, Hull Masonic Lodge AF & AM, and the Goodfellows.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the West Pike Schools Foundation, Leukemia Foundation or West Pike United Methodist Parishes.

Pallbearers will be Randy Hougland, Larry Cox, Lloyd Agans, Doug Houghland, Travis Harris, Clinton Rueb, Brandon Cox and Bill Schanbacker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Bower, Calvin Rueb and Spencer Harris.

The James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal is in charge of arrangements.

Norman D. Pruyn

TROY ­ Norman D. Pruyn, 62, of Troy, died at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 14, 2000, at his daughter's home in Troy.

Funeral services for Mr. Pruyn will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at McCoy & Blossom Funeral Home in Troy. The Revs. John Pool and Ken Thomure will officiate. Burial will be at Corinth Christian Cemetery in Foley.

Mr. Pruyn was born Feb. 23, 1937, in Winfield to Charles and Mary Lee Blakey Pruyn.

He was married to Betty Robey on Aug. 11, 1957, at St. Alphonsus Church in Millwood. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Alan Pruyn of Elsberry and Gary Pruyn of Winfield; three daughters, Pamela Cannon and Tina Watt, both of Troy and Cheryl Korte of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Corene Admire of Olathe, Kan., and Marrietta Dunlap of Grey Bull, Wyo.; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Jay Jay Watt; and one brother, Donald Pruyn.

Mr. Pruyn had worked as a carpenter for more than 28 years at Southern Cross Millwork in St. Louis and also for B & L Construction in Troy. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Silex.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from noon until time of services Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice, in care of McCoy & Blossom Funeral Home in Troy.

Leslie Thomas Long

PERRY ­ Leslie Thomas (Tom) Long, 93, of Perry, died at 11:15 a.m. Jan. 15, 2000, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Perry Christian Church. The Rev. Dale Jorgenson will officiate. Burial will be at Lick Creek Cemetery in Perry.

Mr. Long was born Dec. 6, 1906, in Perry to Emmett D. and Mary Elizabeth West Long.

He was married to Mildred W. Inlow on July 28, 1951, in Hannibal. She preceded him in death April 20, 1997.

Survivors include two brothers, Ernest J. Long of Jacksonville, Ill., and E.D. Long of Perry.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Irvine Long and Merl Long.

Mr. Long had been a rural mail carrier for many years before his retirement.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Long was a member of Perry Christian Church, where he had served as an elder and deacon. He also was a member of Perry VFW Post No. 4088 and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Association. He was a retired member of National Rural Letter Carriers Association.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Perry.

Memorials may be made to Perry Christian Church.

Pallbearers will be Dean Harrison, Greg Harrison, Elmer Coleman, David Levings, Leroy Young and Bill Bumgartner.

Darlene Logsdon

HANNIBAL ­ Gertrude Darlene Logsdon, 87, of Hannibal, died at 11:50 p.m. Jan. 14, 2000, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Smith Funeral Chapel in Hannibal. The Rev. Rick Holcomb will officiate. Burial will be at West Side Cemetery in Versailles, Ill.

Mrs. Logsdon was born Aug. 26, 1912, near Versailles, Ill., to Fred and Ethel V. Ham Pool.

She was married to Wendell L. Logsdon on June 30, 1934, in Springfield, Ill. He preceded her in death Nov. 30, 1999.

Survivors include one son, David Logsdon of St. Charles; two grandchildren, Tanya Stege of O'Fallon and Craig Logsdon of St. Charles; one great-granddaughter; and one brother, Dale Pool of Chambersburg, Ill.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, William (Bill) Pool and Gerald Pool.

The Logsdons moved to Hannibal from Galesburg, Ill., in 1960.

Mrs. Logsdon was a member of First Christian Church. She was a homemaker. She had been an avid bridge player.

She was a graduate of Versailles High School.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Gideon's International, in care of the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Wes McGowan, Herb Koenig, Craig Logsdon, James Stege, Terry Pool and Dennis Engelbrecht.

Earl Guy Allensworth

HANNIBAL ­ Earl Guy Allensworth, 86, of Hannibal, died at 5:10 p.m. Jan. 16, 2000, at Beth-Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Holy Family Church in Hannibal. Father Dan Lueckenotte will officiate. Burial will be at Holy Family Cemetery in Hannibal.

Mr. Allensworth was born July 4, 1913, in Rockport, Ill., to Darius T. and Sarah A. Gallaher Allensworth.

He was married to Sophia Wojcik on Aug. 7, 1937, in Hannibal. She survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Rosenkrans of Brookfield and Linda Cox and Barbara White, both of Hannibal; one sister, Freda Steers of Hannibal; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Pearl Wilson, Edith Hoskins, Nellie Hull and Louise Goodhart; and five brothers, Orlie Allensworth, Orville Allensworth, George Allensworth, Clifford Allensworth and Hobart Allensworth.

Mr. Allensworth was a retired farmer and a member of Holy Family Church of Hannibal.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Pallbearers will be Leonard A. Rosenkrans, Jerry Rosenkrans, Douglas Cox III, Roydon Cox, Donald W. White and Christopher M. White.
