Anna Virginia Venditti
HANNIBAL Anna Virginia Venditti, 83, of Ilasco, died at 11:57 a.m. Jan. 23, 2000, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at Holy Family Church in Hannibal. Father Dan Lueckenotte will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Cemetery in Quincy, Ill.
Mrs. Venditti was born May 30, 1916, in Ilasco to Julius and Mary Sunderlik.
She was married to Albert Venditti on April 20, 1935. He preceded her in death Dec. 31, 1986.
Survivors include one daughter, Armenia Engelmeyer of Quincy, Ill.; one sister, Susan Viglasky of Sterling Heights, Mich.; five grandchildren, Gregory Engelmeyer, Ann Ipsen, John A. Engelmeyer, Mark Engelmeyer and Michael C. Amberg; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Frances Amberg.
Mrs. Venditti was the first person to be baptized at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ilasco in 1916. She was a graduate of Ilasco High School. After her husband's death, she continued to run his business for several years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, the Legion of Mary and the Wednesday Quilting Circle of Ilasco Methodist Church.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.
Memorials may be made to Holy Family Church, the Ilasco Methodist Church Wednesday Quilting Circle or the Ilasco War Memorial Maintenance Fund.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Engelmeyer, John Engelmeyer, Mark Engelmeyer, Bill Mundle, Pete Galluzzio and Bill Northcutt.
Elsie Entsminger
QUINCY, Ill. Elsie V. Entsminger, 81, of Quincy, Ill., died at 4:33 a.m. Jan. 1, 2000, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home in Quincy. The Rev. Alan Simonson will officiate. Burial will be at Greenmount Cemetery.
Mrs. Entsminger was born Nov. 11, 1918, in Moberly to John and Jane Minor Davis.
She was married to Karl Alva Entsminger on Jan. 9, 1937, in Quincy. He preceded her in death Jan. 5, 1990.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol A. Carlson of Quincy; one son, Michael K. Entsminger of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Pamela K. Kroll of Overland Park, Kan., Kelly Beth Carlson of Lake Oswego, Ore., Jennifer Lauren Entsminger of Chesterfield and Matthew Ryan Entsminger of Austin, Texas; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl Houghton and Mayme McElhoe; and two brothers, Elmer Davis and William T. Davis.
Mrs. Entsminger was a secretary at Gardner-Denver Co. for several years and was a secretary at Modern Iron Works. She also had been a nurse's aide at Blessing Hospital and the Illinois Veterans' Home
In 1971 Mrs. Entsminger received the Governor's Award for Excellent on the Job Achievement and Community Contributions. She had been a volunteer in the Alzheimer's unit of the veterans' home.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's unit at the Illinois Veterans' Home.
Frances Menke
QUINCY, Ill. Frances H. Menke, 98, of Quincy, Ill., died Dec. 31, 1999, at St. Vincent's Home.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at All Saints Parish-St. John's Catholic Church in Quincy. The Rev. Robert Jallas will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Quincy.
Mrs. Menke was born Jan. 10, 1901, in Dyersville, Iowa, to Bernard and Mary Timmerwilke Heming.
She was married to Ralph Menke on May 22, 1923, in Quincy. He preceded her in death Sept. 27, 1977.
Survivors include one son, John B. Menke of Hannibal; one daughter, Alene Long of Quincy; four grandchildren, Jeann Morrison of Fowler, Ill., Jeffrey Menke of Springfield, Ill., Michael F. Long of Quincy and Master Sr. Chief Robert L. Long of the U.S. Navy; and four great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Elaine, who died in infancy; one brother, Rome Heming; and five sisters, Clara Rossmiller, Alma Tegeler, Mildred Necker, Helen Tegeler and Sister Myrna Heming.
Mrs. Menke was a member of All Saints Parish-St. John's Catholic Church.
She also was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Triple Oaks Club Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors, Retired Letter Carriers Auxiliary, YWCA and St. John's Leisure Club.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with vigil prayers at 5 p.m.
Memorials may be made to All Saints-St. John's Catholic Church.
George A. Gibbons Sr.
HANNIBAL George A. Gibbons Sr., 47, of Farmington and formerly of Hannibal, died at 6:51 p.m. Jan. 1, 2000, at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. The Rev. Dorothy Reed will officiate.
Mr. Gibbons was born Jan. 1, 1953, in Hawthorne, Calif., to Arnold S. and Viola I. Lambert Gibbons.
He was married to Odessa Gauch Felter on Nov. 15, 1988, in Hannibal. She survives.
Also surviving are his stepfather, Robert Rost of Hannibal; one stepson, Benjamin Felter Jr. of Farmington; his half-brother, Roy Brown of St. Louis; and one sister, Frances Webber of Frankford.
Mr. Gibbons was employed as an auto body technician.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Truman Lamberson
HANNIBAL Truman Lamberson, 55, of Hannibal, died at 3 a.m. Jan. 2, 2000, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Southside Baptist Church in Hannibal. Pastor Alvin Young will officiate. Burial will be at Centenary Cemetery in Hannibal.
Mr. Lamberson was born Oct. 9, 1944, in Ashburn to Marion and Alma Wheeler Lamberson.
He was married to Sharon Lee Cox on Feb. 20, 1965, in Hannibal. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Tessa Lamberson of the home; three sons, Truman Lamberson II, Shawn Lamberson and Conn Lamberson, all of Hannibal; 10 brothers, Louis Lamberson, Jerry Lamberson, Tim Lamberson, Jack Lamberson, Jimmy Lamberson, Hank Lamberson and Rusty Lamberson, all of Ashburn, Faron Lamberson of New London, Lorin Lamberson of Vandalia and Don Lamberson of Louisiana; three sisters, Joyce Ehret of New London, Suzie Cohea and Ceil Lamberson, both of Ashburn; and five grandchildren, Truman Lamberson III, Kayla Lamberson, Brittany Lamberson, Shane Lamberson and Conn Lamberson II.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Kenneth Lamberson, Larry Lamberson and Lonnie Lamberson.
Mr. Lamberson was employed as a leadman with United Cities Gas Co.
He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Sunday School director.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Mike Skeen, Bill Forbis, Jim Williams, Bob Yarbrough, Doug Hallows and Donald Walker.

J. Glenwood Turnbeaugh
TROY J. Glenwood Turnbeaugh, 76, of Troy, died Dec. 31, 1999, at Doctor's Hospital in Wentzville.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McCoy & Blossom Funeral Home in Troy. The Rev. Bill Kaber will officiate. Burial will be at Troy City Cemetery.
Mr. Turnbeaugh was born April 20, 1923, in Mine LaMotte to Otto and Ora Matthews Turnbeaugh.
He was married to Helen Revelle on July 20, 1945, in Fredericktown. She preceded him in death June 28, 1997.
Survivors include three daughters, Susan Witte and Sheila Kaber, both of St. Charles, and Sharon Flinn of Wentzville; one brother, Dave Turnbeaugh of St. Peters; one sister, Nellie Edmond of Fredericktown; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Theodore Turnbeaugh and Ed Turnbeaugh; and one sister, Louise Tinsley.
Mr. Turnbeaugh was a supervisor with American Water Co. for more than 30 years before his 1986 retirement.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from noon until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Craig Michael Westhoff
OLD MONROE Craig Michael Westhoff, 19, of Old Monroe, died Dec. 31, 1999, in a traffic accident on Route C near Old Monroe.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. The Rev. Gregory Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Mr. Westhoff was born June 24, 1980, in Creve Coeur to Neal Richard and Diane Marie Wilke Westhoff.
Survivors include his parents of Old Monroe; two brothers, Eric Westhoff and Scott Westhoff, both of Old Monroe; one sister, Keri Westhoff of Old Monroe; and his grandparents, Gene and Doris Wilke of O'Fallon.
Mr. Westhoff was employed by Boland Plumbing in Troy.
Mr. Westhoff was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Old Monroe.
He was a 1998 graduate of St. Dominic High School in O'Fallon.
Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Shelby Ward
LOUISIANA Shelby Lee Burdett Ward, 78, of Louisiana, died at 11 a.m. Dec. 31, 1999, at Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Earl Wood will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Garden cemetery in Louisiana, with a military service by American Legion Post No. 370.
Mr. Ward was born July 23, 1921, in Centralia to Elmer and Alma Clymer Ward.
He was married to Lillian Harris on Feb. 1, 1942, in Wellsville. She preceded him in death Aug. 13, 1962. He was later married to Ruby Corum in November 1967.
Survivors include two sons, Bucky Ward of Louisiana and Tom Ward of Clarksville; one stepson, Pete Green of Fort Worth, Texas; three daughters, Snookie Flansburg of Louisiana, Janie Robinon of New Orleans and Shellie Ward of Louisiana; one brother, Frank Ward of Bowling Green; two sisters, Lillian Tyner and Aline Avery, both of Mexico; 10 grandchildren, Chris Morgan of St. Peters, Delcie Homan and Audra Crow, both of Louisiana, Jenny Worley of Bowling Green, Lynsie Ward, Brett Ward and Kylie Ward, all of Clarksville, Vincent Robinson and Matthew Robinson, both of New Orleans, and Justin Green of Fort Worth; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Will Ward and Melvin Ward; and one sister, Thelma Ruth.
Mr. Ward was chief of police in Louisiana for 16 years before his 1984 retirement.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Ward was a member of the VFW, American Legion Post No. 370 in Louisiana and Elks Lodge No. 791. He was a former member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
He was a 1941 graduate of Louisiana High School.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services today at the funeral home. Elks Lodge No. 791 will hold a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. today.

Frederick Alford Lane
ELSBERRY Frederick Alford Lane, 72, of Elsberry, died Dec. 31, 1999, at Elsberry Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. The Rev. Raymond Doussard will officiate. Burial will be at Elsberry City Cemetery.
Mr. Lane was born March 14, 1927, in Champaign, Ill., to Willis and Ona Collier Lane.
He was married to Bonnie Gene O'Toole on July 15, 1980, in Rantoule, Ill. She survives.
Also surviving are one stepson, Mike Mercer of Paxton, Ill.; one stepdaughter, Jeanine Dickherber of O'Fallon; two sisters, Vivian of California and Mary Ann of Colorado; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters; one stepson, Joe Ira; and one stepdaughter, Vicki Carey.
Mr. Lane was a driver with the Illinois State Highway Department for several years.
Visitation will be from noon until time of services today at the funeral home.
Ralph Thomas Stone
CLARKSVILLE Ralph Thomas Stone, 73, of Clarksville, died Dec. 31, 1999, at his home.
Funeral services for Mr. Stone were held Monday at Collier Funeral Home in Clarksville. The Rev. Gene Stewart officiated. Burial was at the Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville.
Mr. Stone was born Feb. 23, 1926, in Paynesville to Willie and Ruby Ellen Hanson Stone.
Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Sue Hall of Clarksville; one grandson, Benjamin Thomas Dodd of Clarksville; one granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Dodd of Clarksville; one stepgranddaughter, Michelle Lynn Hall of Clarksville; one sister, Betty Ann Burns of Clarksville; and special friends, Vickie and Stephen Lilley of Clarksville.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Stone and Bob Stone; and one sister, Fran O'Brien.
Mr. Stone farmed all of his life in the Clarksville area. He attended the Annada School at Annada.
