Edna L. Diemer, 91, of Viroqua, Wis., and formerly of Penn Township, McLeod County, died Sunday, May 5 2002, at the Bethel Home in Viroqua, Wis.
Funeral services will be on 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Penn Township, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of services at the church on Thursday. Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson is handling local arrangements.
She is survived by her daughters, Miriam Hatlem of Viroqua, Wis., and Eunice Schermerhorn of Whitehall, Pa.; sister Elsie of Minneapolis; and four grandchildren.
Edna Louise (Winterfeldt) Diemer was born Sept.14, 1910, in Buffalo Lake, to Henry and Emma (Hoops) Winterfeldt.

Mildred M. Kaufenberg, 80, of Lamberton, died Monday, May 6, 2002, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lamberton with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation continues 7:30-8:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She is survived by sons, James of Boca Roton, Fla., John of Zionsville, Penn., Michael of Wentworth, S.D., Anthony of Sturgen Lake, and Timothy of Hoffman Estate, Ill.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Cyril Baumann of Irvine, Calif; sisters, Florence Kaufenberg of Lamberton, Rita Klabunde of Sartell, and Erna Koloski of Starbuck.
She was born Feb. 14, 1922, in Lamberton to Henry and Frances (Jenniges) Baumann.

Cletus Phillips, 83, of Hector, died Sunday, May 5, 2002, at Olivia Healthcare Center.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church in Hector, with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Bird Island.
Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife Alice Phillips of Hector; sons, Richard Phillips of San Antonio, Texas, Robert Phillips of Pine River; and sister, Rose Osman of Bird Island.
He was born July 25, 1918, in Norfolk Township, Renville County, to Xavier and Mary (Beck) Phillips.

Isabelle Beatrice Tande, 98, of St. James, died Monday, May 6, 2002, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2002, at First Luthteran Church in St. James, with burial at Mount Hope Cemetery in St. James.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-9 a.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Friday.
She is survived by her daughter Marcia Johnson of Lawrence, Kan.; son, Donavon Anderson of St. James; stepson Ervin Tande of St. James; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Mildred Nelson of Milwaukee, Wis.
Isabelle Beatrice Tande was born June 24, 1903, in rural St. James, to Iver and Marie (Wettestad) Jenson.

Kayla Marie and Kristen Jo Lough, infant twin daughters of Steven and Christine Lough of New Ulm, were stillborn Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at the New Ulm Medical Center.
Private graveside services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2002, at the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Firle Funeral Home of New Ulm.
They are survived by their parents; sister Natalie Lough; grandparents, Nadeen Lough of New Ulm, and LeRoy Lough of Houston, Texas; and great-grandmothers, Georgianna Swantz of Brainerd and Ruth Lough of Minneapolis.

Rita Hirsch, age 55, of White Bear Lake, died May 9, 2002.
She was a 28-year employee of Metronic in clinical research.
Rita was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Marcella (Eischen) Hirsch.
She is survived by siblings, Thomas (Sharon) of Sleepy Eye, Michael (Jean) of Port Wing, Wis., Clare (Dennis) Bowers of Kaukauna, Wis., John (Eileen) of Sleepy Eye; also survived by nieces and nephews, Daniel (Nikki), Charlotte, Jacob, Gabriel, Aaron, Michael, Paul (Kathryn), John, Theresa (Greg) Mooney, Joseph and Lucy; other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian burial will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 4741 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake, with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Internment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.

Evelyn H. Lunz, 85, of St. James, died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at Pleaseant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2002, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in St. James, with burial in the Mount Hope Cemtery in St. James.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Sturm Funeral Home in St. James. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday.
She is survived by her daughters, Ardell Knudson of St. James, and Judy Mickelson of St. James; son Gary Lunz of Mankato; five grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; and brother Albert Krueger of Coppell, Texas.
Evelyn H. Lunz was born Nov. 11, 1916, in Adrian Township, Watonwan County, to Alfred and Amelia (Sombruski) Krueger.

Daniel P. Regnier, 50, of Redwood Falls, died Thursday, May 9, 2002 at his home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2002 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Redwood Falls with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 9:30 until services Monday at the church.
He is survived by a son, Andy of Redwood Falls; daughters, Tony Hass of Redwood Falls and Nichole Regnier of Redwood Falls; a sister, Patricia Moritz of Redwood Falls; and brothers, Greg of Portland, Ore. and Randy of Maynard.
He was born July 2, 1951 in Redwood Falls to Robert and Eunice (Steen) Regnier.

Harriet J. Seefeldt, 74, of Lester Prairie, died Thursday, May 9, 2002, in Glencoe.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 12, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, with burial in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Lester Prairie.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Lester Prairie, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
She is survived by her husband, Ervin, of Lester Prairie; sisters, Shirley Bode of Nicollet and Janice Rudloff of Silver Bay; and a brother, Wilbur Lieske of Mankato.
She was born Nov. 19. 1927, in Henderson Township, Sibley County, to George W. and Mae L. (Lawrence) Lieske. At one time she taught at Immanuel Lutheran School in Courtland.

Robert A. Hedstrom, 69, of Morgan, died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Morgan.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Morgan.
He is survived by sons, Gary Hedstrom of Bemidji and Kevin Hedstrom of Elk River; daughters, Kathi Hedstrom of Minnetonka and Kristi Hedman of Rapid City, S.D.; five grandchildren; brothers, Kenny Hedstrom of Hoffman, and Donnie Hedstrom of Moorhead, a sister, Diane Erickson of Bloomingdale, Ill., and his step mother, Cora Hedstrom of Warroad.
He was born July 28, 1932, in Barret to Albert and Florentina (Jochim) Hedstrom. He served in the U.S. Army during 1953-54.

Raleigh Good, 86, of New Ulm, died Thursday, May 9, 2002.
Services will be 1 p.m. today at Hodroff & Sons Funeral Chapel, 671 N. Snelling Ave., St. Paul.
She is survived by a brother, Mitchell Aaronson of Los Angeles; a son, Michael Good of Boston; a daughter, Sara Lucks of Long Island; and four grandchildren.
She was born June 7, 1915, in Minneapolis.

Meta Hasse, 91, of Vesta, formerly of Morgan, died Saturday, May 11, 2002, in the Parkview Home in Belview.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Vesta with burial in the Vesta City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, and Tuesday one hour prior to services at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Vesta. There will be a prayer service Monday evening, at 7 p.m. at the church. The Sunset Funeral Home of Echo is handling the arrangements.
She is survived by daughters, Marjorie Danckwart of Lake City, Mavis Nommensen of St. James, and Janice Johnson of Brooks, Minn.; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Meta Keta Hasse was born June 17, 1910 in Labenz Germany to Johannes and Emilie (Panitzke) Valentin.

Sylvester M. Hoffmann, 78, of Preston and formerly of New Ulm, died Friday, May 10, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at Thauwald Funeral Home in Preston, with burial with military graveside rites in Watson Creek Cemetery in Preston. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday and noon-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are with Thauwald Funeral Home in Preston.
He is survived by his wife Hilda; sons, Randy of Payson, Utah, Daniel of Chino Valley, Ariz., Kevin of Shoreview, Jeffery of Savage, and Tim of Ramona, Calif.; daughters, Linda of Prairie du Chien, Wis., Debra of Preston, and Pamela of Northfield; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; and sister Hazel Schonrock of New Ulm.
Sylvester M. Hoffmann was born June 3, 1923, in New Ulm, to Henry and Ellen (Schwanke) Hoffmann. He served with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, serving from 1942 to 1946 in Europe.

Frederick A. "Fritz" Krueger, 88, of Sleepy Eye, died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednes-day, May 15, at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, with Pastor Ron Freimark officiating. Burial will be in Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his sons, Frederick, Jr. and wife Linda Krueger of Ellensburg, Wash., and Harold Krueger of Sleepy Eye; grandsons, Frederick Krueger II, and Bill and wife Lillian Krueger of Yakima, Wash. He is also survived by his great grandsons, Zackery Krueger of Hood River, Ore. and Joshua and Austin Krueger of Yakima, Wash. and sisters, Viola Berry of Minneapolis and Katherine Polesky of Marshall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Audrey on April 6, 2000 and 12 brothers and sisters out of 15 family members.
Fritz was born on Sept. 2, 1913 in Sleepy Eye, the son of Emil and Katherine (Bleninger) Krueger. While growing up, he attended Sleepy Eye schools until the Great Depression forced him to leave school.
On Oct. 26, 1938 he was united in marriage to Audrey Roesner in Lafayette. Following their marriage, the couple resided in Sleepy Eye. Frederick began to learn the electrical trade as a home business in the late 1940s. His skills in refrigeration, wiring and plumbing resulted in the founding of Krueger Electric. Fritz served on the Sleepy Eye Fire Department and also served 16 years on the Sleepy Eye City Council. While on the City Council he helped in the design and supervision of the new City Hall and Ross Park Apartments.

Esther L. Hermel, 80, of North Mankato died Friday, May 10, 2002. at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at St. Paul's Evangelical Church in North Mankato, with burial in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church Wednesday.
She is survived by sons, Loel Hermel of Good Thunder, Oren of Wausau, Wis., and Scott Hermel of North Mankato; sisters, Evelyn Schostag of Mankato, Lucille Buhland of Mankato, and Milly Nelson of Sun City, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.
She was born Aug. 7, 1921, to Arthur and Esther (Rengstorf) Meyer in Moltke Township near Gibbon.

Jane Baumann, 80, of Wabasso, died Saturday, May 11, 2002, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church and continues one hour before the service.
Nelson-Martin Funeral Service of Redwood Falls handled arrangements.

Sharon Ann Toltzman, 58, of New Ulm, died Sunday, May 12, 2002 at her home after battling cancer. She was diagnosed with the disease in March of this year, and was hospitalized throughout most of her illness.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Wednesday at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at church on Wednesday.
Sharon is survived by her husband Frederick "Fred" Toltzman of New Ulm; sons, Lance and Trevor Toltzman of Hanska, and Shane and his wife Lana (Hoffmann) Toltzman of Hanska; her father, Francis "Frank" Grejtak and his special friend Elfie Doepke of Franklin; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Diane Grejtak of New Ulm and Steven and Sue Grejtak of Franklin. She is also survived by many special brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Sharon A. Toltzman was born on May 10, 1944, in Birch Cooley Township, Renville County, the daughter of Francis and Violet "Vi" (Jensen) Grejtak. She graduated in 1962 from Morton High School, and in 1966 from the McPhail School of Music with a BA in Music Education. She taught elementary music in Olivia from 1966 until 1968 and then in country schools in Nicollet and Brown counties for Helen Schroeder, until they closed in 1971. In 1973 she finished Miff Schmidt's term. She also was a substitute music teacher for New Ulm's Dist. 88 elementary schools, and in 1980, she taught half days in Searles for one year. From 1975 to May 1998 she operated a home daycare. After retiring from daycare, she pursued work outside of the home, and in June of 1998 she became employed by PGI Mailers, until the present time.
On June 1, 1968 she was united in marriage to Frederick J. Toltzman at the St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Franklin. Following their marriage, they resided in New Ulm.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Violet "Vi" Grejtak; father-in-law, Frederick C. Toltzman; mother-in-law, Estella Toltzman; brother-in-law, Waldemar Toltzman; and sister-in-law, Kathleen (Isaacson) Toltzman.
Sharon was an active member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, and a member of the New Ulm Noteables for several years. She also sang in the choir at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Franklin. She enjoyed playing piano, the accordion and singing.
