Edith M. West, 89, of Winthrop, formerly of Yuma, Ariz., died on Sunday, July 29, 2001, at Winthrop Good Samaritan Center.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop is handling the arrangrements.
She is survived by her brother, Ernest Kietzman and his wife, Mildred of Stewart; sisters-in-law, Frieda Kietzman of Stewart, and Bernice Kietzman of Queen City, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Emma Kietzman; spouses, Lloyd Lehmpuhl and Isadore West; brothers, Paul, Norman, Ewald and Elmer Kietzman; sister, Margaret Duenow; and sister-in-law, Hertha Kietzman.
She was born Nov. 16, 1911, in Stewart, to Otto and Emma (Racheu) Kietzman. She grew up in the Stewart area, where she attended school. During World War II, she worked on aircraft assembly, putting parachutes on airplanes. She married Lloyd H. Lehmpuhl. He died on March 29,1965. She later married Isadore West, and he died on March 9, 1986. She lived most of her life in California and Arizona, before moving to Winthrop in 1997. While living in Yuma, Ariz., she was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Irene Gildemeister, 84, of 243 Yosemite Circle N., Golden Valley, formerly of Gaylord, died Monday, July 30, 2001 a Fairview Transitional Services in Minneapolis.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord with burial in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Gaylord.
Visitation is 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by nieces, Sara (Uecker) Swenson of St. Peter and Gladys Rose of Arlington; grandnephews, Roger Uecker of Gaylord, Ronald Rose of Gaylord; grandnieces, Cindy Kowalski of -Roseville, Diane Lind of Hutchinson, and Darlene Rose of Arlington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Linda Podratz and Elsie Uecker.
She was born Oct. 16, 1916,in Dryden Township, Sibley County, to August and Olga (Schuette) Gildemeister. She graduated from Gaylord High School and Minneapolis Business College, She did secretarial work for the General Mills Corporation in Minneapolis. She then moved to California where she worked for Young & Rubicam, Inc., an advertising agency for six years, and for Tishman Management Services Corp. for 14 years, both in Los Angeles. While in California, she was an American Red Cross Volunteer Canteen Division, during World War II. After her retirement she returned to Minneapolis. She was member of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

Erma Lang, 84, of Sleepy Eye, died July 30, 2001, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Sleepy Eye.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-9 a.m. Friday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Paul Steffen of Shoreview; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and wife Garri Lang of Maple Grove; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ray Lang of Sleepy Eye; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard in 1980; brothers, Henry, Ervin, Otto, Arnold, Herman, William and Richard; sisters, Gertrude Hinton, Esther Bobsin, Ella Nelson, Laura Patterson and Alvina "Toots" Schewe.
She was born on Aug. 4, 1916, in Burnstown Township to William and Alvina (Lawrenz) Gramentz. She attended school in Burnstown Township. She worked at A.J. Pietrus in Sleepy Eye. She married Leonard A. Lang on Oct. 16, 1940, in Sleepy Eye. They lived in Sleepy Eye where she worked as a waitress at The Lincoln. She also worked at the Sleepy Eye Hospital before she retired in 1978. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye, Elizabeth Circle and VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

David L. Stamp, 66, of Madelia, died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at the Lake Crystal Health Care Center.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, St. James.
Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He is survived by sisters, Cindy and husband Jerry Gay of St. James and Carole and husband Bill Haberman of Brewster; brother, Bob and wife Gaylene of Crawfordsville, Fla; 17 nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Rosinda and Miriam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Bill and Wayne.
He was born May 15, 1935, in Worthington, to Arthur and Sylvia (Ketel) Stamp. He served in the U.S. Air Force in 1954-59. He worked at Tony Downs Foods for many years.

Elvera Baier, 85, of Springfield, died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Springfield, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-10 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield. A parish prayer service is 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A St. Anne's CCW Rosary is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
She is survived by daughter-in-law, Sharon Baier and special friend Ernie Goodrow of Springfield; grandchildren, Randy and wife Amy Baier of Springfield, Shannon and husband Darren Bode of St. Peter; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Mathiowetz of Springfield, Bernice Augustin of Sleepy Eye, and Doris and husband Wilbert Rosenau of Olivia; brother, Gilbert and wife Alice Ludewig of Sleepy Eye; and a special friend, Julia Schwaegerl of St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph in 1989; son, Kenneth in 1998; and brother, Marvin Ludewig.
She was born June 2, 1916, in Leavenworth Township, Brown County, to John and Martha (Meyer) Ludewig. She attended District 32 School. She worked for and with various families in the area. She married Joseph Baier Jr. on May 29,1939, in Leavenworth. She worked at Augustin's Butcher Shop and Runck Hardware. She and her husband owned and operated the Springfield Locker Plant. She was a former member of the Church of the Japanese Martyrs and a long-time member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church and St. Anne's CCW.

John Pape, 68, of Redwood Falls, died July 31, 2001.
Services are 7 p.m. today at Redwood Valley Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, with burial at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Assembly Area 5.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Bob, Patricia and Ruben, and LouAnn and Vincent; sister, Lois James; brother, Milo Swenke; ten grandchildren and three great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
He was born Apr. 16, 1933, in Princeton, to Ernest and Myrtle (Reineccius) Pape. He attended school in Princeton. He entered the U.S. Army in 1951 and served in the Korean War. He was a long-time employee of Twin Cities Die-Casting. He was a member of the Princeton VFW Post 618.

Warren Pack, 78, of Walnut Grove, died Monday, July 30, 2001, at his home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church, Walnut Grove, with a private burial in the city cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday at the Jacobson Funeral Home, Walnut Grove.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; sons, Bryon of Hutchinson, Boyd and wife Debbie of Farmington, and Ricky of Walnut Grove; three grandchildren; sisters, Genevieve DeCourey of Richfield and Lolita Gremmert of Mankato; brother, Cliff and wife Melba of Walnut Grove; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, and two sisters.
He was born Dec. 16, 1922, in North Hero Township, to Lloyd and Grace (Wessling) Pack. He attended rural schools and farmed with his father. He served in the U.S. Army in 1942-1945. He married Gloria Williams on Nov. 22, 1950, in Sherburn. The couple farmed in the Walnut Grove area. He belonged to American Legion Post 267 of Walnut Grove for 55 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Walnut Grove.

Mary Ellen Daun, 97, of Morton, died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Sunwood Good Samaritan Center in Redwood Falls.
Mass of Christian burial is 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church in Morton with burial in the Calvary Cemetery in Morton.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls; and continues one hour before Mass Saturday at the Church.
Memorials are preferred to Morton Senior Citizen Center or Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center.
She is survived by children, Rita Daun-Todd and her husband Russ of Anderson, Calif., and Jim Daun of Morton; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; half brother, Leonard Farerbaugli of Lake Lillian; and many nieces and nephews,,
She was preceded in death by husband on April 20, 1979; son; Jack Daun in 1977; brothers, Thomas and Ralph Farenbaugh; and isters, Gladys Potter and Cecelia Bordsen.
She was born on June 9, 1904, in Norfolk Township, Renville County, to Leonard and Mary Ellen (Flynn) Farenbaugh. She attended St. Mary's Elementary and high school in Bird Island. She graduated from Nursing School in Racine, Wisc., in 1923. She married John F. "Fred" Daun on Feb. 10, 1926, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bird Island. They lived on several area farms, and then moved to Morton in 1938. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Redwood Falls Hospital and Franklin Care Center from 1924 until retiring in 1973. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Morton, Altar Society and Morton Senior Citizens.

Wade Pullman, 37, of Brighton, Colo., died Monday, July 30, 2001, from injuries sustained in a car accident.
A memorial service was held Thursday in Brighton. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Mennonite Church in Onida, S.D.
He is survived by his wife, Diane of Brighton; her parents Verlin and Shirley Goering of New Ulm; her sisters Valerie and Nancy; his parents Bill and Foresta of Onida, S.D.; sister, Felicia and Terry Corcoran of Pierre, S.D.; brothers, Bret and Bart of Onida and many relatives and friends.
He was born Aug. 5, 1963, in Onida. He graduated from Sunshine Bible Academy, Miller, S.D. and the University of South Dakota. He married Diane Goering on March 21, 1992 in New Ulm. He was employed by Minnesota Valley Testing Labs, New Ulm before taking a job with Lockheed-Martin in Las Vegas, Nev. He was currently working as a Lockheed-Martin lab manager at the Rocky Martin Arsenal in Denver.

Virginia Norcutt, 70, formerly of Redwood Falls, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001 at the ClareBridge of Plymouth.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Redwood Falls, with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home, Redwood Falls and one hour prior to the service at the church Monday.
She is survived by her children, Robin and wife Candy of New Hope, Jody, Dawn and husband Larry Dahl all of Chanhassen, Randy of Kirkland, Wash., Melody and husband Michael O'Leary of Breezy Point; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Dewan Barnes of Burnsville, Duane Barnes of Richfield, Rupert and wife Frances Barnes of Belview, Dallas and wife Donna Barnes of Burnsville, Richard and wife Muriel Barnes of Rosemount, Dean and wife Mary Jo Barnes of Fountain, Fla., Myrle and wife Jeannine Barnes of St. Peter, Burlyn Jr. and wife Karen Barnes of Redwood Falls, James and wife Patricia Barnes of Redwood Falls; sisters, Marilyn Guardia and husband Robert of Pascagoula, Miss., Elaine Watson and husband Lewis of Houston, Penn., Audrey Tracy and husband Pat of Burnsville, N.C., Bette Barnes of Redwood Falls, and Sharon Kretsch and husband Bernie of Redwood Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother and sister.
She was born July 18, 1931, in Rowena to Burlyn and Leona (Hauptli) Barnes. She attended school in Redwood Falls. She married Calvin Norcutt on Jan. 7, 1949, in Wabasso. They lived most of their lives in Redwood Falls. She managed the dress department at the J.C. Penney store. She belonged to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was an early supporter of the Minnesota Inventors Congress. She moved to ClareBridge of Plymouth three years ago.

Marian Lager, 100, of Winthrop, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at the Bernadotte Lutheran Church, Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church Monday.

She is survived by nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Freda Wedin; husband, Chester Lager; son, Carl, in infancy; brothers, Carl Wedin in childhood and Marvin Wedin; and sister, Maude Lager.
She was born Nov. 23, 1900, in Hector, to Frank and Freda (Alisch) Wedin. She grew up in Hector and graduated from Hector High School. She continued her education at Mankato State College, where she received her teaching certificate. Her first job was teaching first grade in Petersburg. Her next move brought her to Winthrop where taught first grade for two years at the public school. She married Chester Lager May 19, 1926, at Bernadotte. They ran the Princess Cafe together for a number of years. She also worked for Dr. Rolf Hovde in Winthrop and Dr. John Bengtson in his dental offices in Winthrop and Fairfax. Chester died July 20, 1991. She entered the Lafayette Good Samaritan Assisted Living Center after her 100th birthday. Due to an injury in July, she entered the Arlington Good Samaritan Center. She was a long time member of Bernadotte Lutheran Church and the Order of the Easter Star.

Joan Walter, 57, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, after a battle with cancer.
Mass of Christian burial is Monday.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
She is survived by her husband, Nick, Jr., children Marie Vogt and husband Gary, Chris Walter and husband Dan, Nick, III; Amy Schultz and husband Mike; Daniel Walter and wife Kris and Larry Walter; parents Nick and Rolise (Braun) Hauser, brothers Jerry and wife Bard, and Kenny and wife Peggy; sister Delrose Stadick and husband Melvin; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sister Marlene.

Victoria Varland, 88, of Hector, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at Hutchinson Area Health Care.
Services are 3 p.m. Sunday at First Lutheran Church, Hector with burial in Hector City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Hughes Funeral Home, Hector, and one hour prior to services Sunday at the church.

Edith Joyce, 93, of rural Henderson, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at the Sibley Medical Center, Arlington.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Jessenland, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kolden-Fenske Funeral Home, Arlington, and Wednesday at the church, one hour prior to the service. A parish prayer service will be 8:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by seven nieces and nephews.
She was born Feb. 9, 1908, in Jessenland Township, Sibley County, to Jeremiah and Mary Jan (Egan) Joyce. She worked for many years as a bank teller in the Minneapolis area. After retirement, she lived on the family farm in Jessenland Township.

Cecilia Bieraugel, 87, of Medford, formerly of New Ulm, died on April 11, 2001, at Medford Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, New Ulm, with burial in New Ulm at a later date.
She is survived by son, Ronald, of Medford, Ore.; daughters, Jean of Eagle Point, Ore. and Lois Buczck of Palos Hills, Ill.; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son; three sisters and two brothers.
She was born May 12, 1913, in New Ulm. She married Raymond Bieraugel on Sept. 16, 1935, in New Ulm. She moved to the Rogue Valley in June 1996.

Luverna Ebert, 69, of Gaylord, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at Gaylord Lakeview Home.
Services are 6 p.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord.
Arrangements are handled by Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord.
