Elsie Lundmark
BAGLEY, Minn. -- Elsie M. Lundmark, 77, Duluth, formerly of Bagley, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, in St. Mary's Hospital, Duluth.
Elsie Mable McCollum was born July 24, 1923, the daughter of James and Emma (Comfort) McCollum. She grew up in Moose Creek Township, Clearwater County, Minn. She graduated from high school in Bagley in 1941. She married
John Lundmark on Dec. 4, 1943. They lived in Washington, Oregon, Wisconsin, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota and Kentucky. She had several part-time jobs. John Lundmark died in July 1994. In 1996, she went to live with her daughter Sherryl in Duluth.
She is survived by daughters, Sherryl (Morris) Love, Duluth, Evonne (George) Ulmer, Ionia, Mich., and Sheila (Rick) Brustad, Landisville, Pa.; sons, Steven and Bruce, both of Solway, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Emily Sorensen, Bemidji, Neva Pike, Park Rapids, Minn., and Mavis Anderson, of Oregon; and brothers, Delmer, Bemidji, and Roger, Duluth.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Kozitka; a grandson; a sister, Verna Sorenson; and brothers, Stanley, Leonard, and Donald.
Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Leonard, Minn.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church.
Burial: Norway Lake cemetery, Leonard (Cease, Bagley).
Bertha Petersen
BAGLEY, Minn. -- Bertha Petersen, 85, Bagley, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, in Greensview Health Care Center, Bagley, where she had lived since March 1999.
Bertha Landmark was born March 26, 1914, the daughter of Emil and Gina (Ness) Landmark, in Rollag, Minn. She attended school in Moorhead. She married
Jens Petersen on Nov. 21, 1936, in Shevlin, Minn. They lived in Crookston until 1948, when they moved to McIntosh, Minn. In 1950, they bought a farm in Nora Township, Clearwater County, Minn. Jens Petersen died Oct. 16, 1990. In 1991, she moved to Bagley.
She is survived by a daughter, Eileen (George) Vorderbruggen, Bagley; sons, Gene (Barbara), Bagley, Wayne (Leanne), Elk River, Minn.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Millie Gordon, Shevlin, and Grace Anderson and Gladys (Hans) Anderson, both of Moorhead; and a brother, James (Minnie), International Falls, Minn.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Erickson; and a brother, Adolph.
Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Bethel Lutheran Church, Bagley.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Cease Family Funeral Home, Bagley, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Nora Township cemetery, Bagley.
Leora Audette
RED LAKE FALLS, Minn. -- Leora Audette, 84, Red Lake Falls, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, in Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Leora Weiss was born June 23, 1916, the daughter of Henry and Ida (Hendricks) Weiss, in Red Lake Falls, where she attended school. After her mothers death, she helped raise her siblings. She married
Maurice Audette on Oct. 22, 1940, in Dorothy, Minn. They farmed near Dorothy and in 1951, they moved to Red Lake Falls. She worked at St. John's Hospital, Red Lake Falls. She retired in 1979. Maurice Audette died in 1972.
She is survived by sons, Jim (Mary), St. Paul, and Tim (Monica), Wyoming, Minn.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Willard (LouAnn), Crookston; sisters, Viola Iverson, Harvey, N.D., Izzy (Leonard) Melin and Lillian Berry, both of Thief River Falls, Helen (Sylvester) Schmitz, Red Lake Falls and Marvel (Arthur) Klein, Langdon, N.D.; and a sister-in-law, Ellen Wieland.
She was preceded in death by a son, Allen; brothers, George, August, Henry, Raymond and Richard; and a daughter-in-law, Margaret Audette.
Services: 9 a.m. today, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Red Lake Falls.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church.
Burial: St. Joseph Catholic cemetery (Johnson, Red Lake Falls).
Eleanor Peterson
WARREN, Minn. -- Eleanor Peterson, 95, Warren, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, in Good Samaritan Center, Warren, where she had lived since 1992.
Eleanor Johnson was born June 30, 1905, the daughter of Carl and Hilma (Jansson) Johnson, in Vega Township, Marshall County, Minn., where she attended school. She became a registered nurse at North Star College in Warren. She was a private duty nurse and worked at the Warren Hospital. She married
C. Gustav Peterson on Jan. 24, 1950. They lived in Warren. He died Dec. 8, 1971.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Helen Michelson, San Diego; brothers, Alvin (Olive), Southbury, Conn., Hugo (June), Tahlegua, Okla., and Roy (Louise), Warren; and a sister, Bernice Peterson, Golden Valley, Minn.
She was preceded in death by brothers, C. Einar, B. Everett, Fritz and Walter; a sister, Elna Miller; and stepsons, Raymond Peterson and Milford Peterson.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Evangelical Covenant Church, Warren.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home, Warren, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Greenwood cemetery, Warren.
Alice Christianson
RED LAKE FALLS, Minn. -- Alice Christianson, 94, Red Lake Falls, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, in Riverview Nursing Home, Crookston.
Alice Margaret Bombardier was born May 1, 1906, the daughter of Cleophas and Delima (Breault) Bombardier, in Polk County, Minn., where she attended school. She married
Lloyd Demarais on June 11, 1928. He died April 27, 1997. She married
Carol Christianson on June 30, 1965. He died March 25, 1984.
She is survived by children, Lloyd Jr. (Agnes) Demarais, Rochester, Minn., Robert (Elaine) Demarais, South Milwaukee, Kathleen (Gordon) Gunderson, Milwaukee, Louis (Gloria) Demarais, Hazen, N.D., Ann (Constantine) Chioles, Barrington, Ill., Celeste Kibbee, Denver, Curtis Demarais, Fargo, Richard (Alice) Demarais, Lawton, Okla., Judy (Eugene) Bauer, Wilson, Wis., Bernard (Janice) Demarais, Mesa, Ariz., and Michael (Janet) Demarais, Blaine, Minn.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; sisters, Evelyn Scully, and Ceciel Dubuque, both of Crookston; and a brother, Robert (Florence), Crookston.
She was preceded in death by daughters, Audrey Lanoff and Janyce Taylor; sisters, Leona Seper and Ursula Seper; and brothers, Maurice and Harvey.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Red Lake Falls.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Johnson Funeral Home, Red Lake Falls, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.
Vance Moon
ADA, Minn. -- Vance M. Moon, 88, Ada, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, in Veterans Medical Center, Fargo.
Vance M. Moon was born Feb. 29, 1912, the son of Carl and Loie (Miller) Moon, in Chariton, Iowa. He attended school in Pequot Lakes, Minn. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married
Ellen Ulmer on Oct. 23, 1953, in Bismarck. They lived in several communities in North Dakota and Minnesota. They lived in Gary, Minn., where they operated a dairy farm.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Twila (Carter) Neset, Ada; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Vern; and sisters, Hallie and Vera.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Faith United Church, Ada.
Visitation: 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Fredrikson Funeral Home, Ada.
Burial: Memorial Gardens, Twin Valley, Minn.
