Willard Beiswenger
FISHER, Minn. -- Willard E. Beiswenger, 69, Fisher, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at home.
Willard E. Beiswenger was born Sept. 22, 1931, the son of Emil and Lenora (Ross) Beiswenger, in Fisher, where he graduated from high school. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War. He returned home, where he farmed until his retirement in 1994.
He is survived by a brother, Edwin (Dorothy), Crookston; a sister, Florence (Russell) Swenson, Osage, Minn.; and sisters-in-law, Joanne Beiswenger and Julia Rutherford, both of Fisher.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Ronald, Gerald and Willmar.
Services: 1 p.m. Friday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Fisher.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home, Crookston, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Greenwood cemetery, Fisher.

Harold Gravalin
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. -- Harold L. Gravalin, 75, Detroit Lakes, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, in SCCI Hospital, Fargo.
Harold L. Gravalin was born July 28, 1925, the son of Alfred and Sophie (Brandt) Gravalin, in Moorhead, where he graduated from high school in 1943. He attended Interstate Business College in Fargo for one year. He worked for Fairmont Food in Moorhead from 1943 to 1949. He married
Emma Wangsness on May 15, 1945, in Moorhead. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad from 1949 to 1958. He then worked as superintendent of grounds at Moorhead State University from 1958 to 1969. From 1969 to 1980, he worked as superintendent of grounds for Moorhead Parks and Recreation. He retired in 1980, and they moved to Detroit Lakes.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Alan (Nicki), Moorhead, Tom (Linda), Fosston, Minn., Bruce (Karen), Nevis, Minn., and Jim (Mary), Williston, N.D.; daughters, Emily, Detroit Lakes, and Ann (Chuck) Schwede, Cannon Falls, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce (Hjalmer) Houglum, Moorhead.
He was preceded in death by a grandson.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Grace Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. today, West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Oak Grove cemetery, Detroit Lakes.
LeRoy Saagge
ROSEAU, Minn. -- LeRoy D. Saagge, 60, Roseau, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, in Grand Forks.
LeRoy D. Saagge was born Sept. 18, 1940, the son of Thomas and Genevieve (Nelson) Saagge, in Roseau. He attended school in Badger, Minn., and Roseau. He served in the U.S. Army. He married
Pat LaPointe on April 2, 1959, in Limestone, Maine. They lived in Roseau. He worked in maintenance for Polaris.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Pamela Swan and Sherry (Mark) Skoglund, both of Roseau, Jenny (Randy) Brandli, Warroad, Minn., and Renae (David) Metz, Spearfish, S.D.; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ray; and his father.
Services: 4 p.m. Tuesday, Roseau Community Church.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Helgeson Funeral Chapel, Roseau.
Military rites: Roseau Memorial Honor Guard.
Evelyn Taylor
WARROAD, Minn. -- Evelyn "Ev" Taylor, 75, Warroad, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, in St. Joseph's Hospital, St. Paul.
Evelyn Gladys Christofferson was born May 6, 1925, the daughter of Alec and Catherine Christofferson, in Middlebro, Man., where she attended school. She worked at Clearwater Bay Resort at Nester Falls and as a cook at her father's logging camp. She married
Morris Taylor on Sept. 1, 1949. They lived in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. They moved to Warroad, where she worked at Marvin Windows and Doors for 22 years.
She is survived by daughters, Joan (Dennis) Christy, Moose Lake, Minn., and Judy (Gordon) Landin, Warroad; sons, John (Nannette), Maplewood, Minn., and Milt (Cindy), Owatonna, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Bert (Ruth) and Ron (Barb), Middlebro; and a sister, Vye Olson, Sprague, Man.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a granddaughter; brothers, Edmond, Dalton and Elmer; and a sister, Margaret Blackburde.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Zion Lutheran Church, Warroad.

Esther Holte
BAUDETTE, Minn. -- Esther M. Holte, 88, Baudette, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, in Falls Memorial Hospital.
Esther Marie Peterson was born Oct. 24, 1911, the daughter of Severin and Agda Peterson in Chicago. She moved with her family to Mount Spokane, Wash. She graduated in 1929 from high school in Mead, Wash. She graduated from nurses' training in Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Wash., in 1933. She worked as a private and clinic nurse in Spokane. She married
Arnold Holte on June 4, 1946. They moved to Baudette. In 1956, she began working for Trinity Hospital, Baudette, where she worked until retiring in 1981. In 1996, Arnold Holte died.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice (Dennis) Olson, Wyoming, Minn.; a son, Severin (Patricia), International Falls, Minn.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn; and a sister, Welma Johnson.
Services: 1 p.m. Friday, Evangelical Covenant Church, Baudette.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Helgeson Funeral Home, Baudette, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Silver Creek cemetery.
Lillian Larson
ROSEAU, Minn. -- Lillian Larson, 83, Roseau, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, in Sheltering Oaks Manor, Roseau, where she had lived since February 1998.
Lillian Samela Johnson was born March 17, 1917, the daughter of August and Maria (Karlsdotter) Johnson, in Leonard, Minn., where she attended school. She moved with her family to Badger, Minn., where she continued her schooling. She married
Herbert Larson on Oct. 10, 1935. They moved near Wannaska, where they farmed. She worked at Polaris Industries. Herbert Larson died in 1993. She moved into Roseau in 1994.
She is survived by children, Hazel Nute, Tacoma, Wash., and Ronald (Delaine) and Barbara (LeRoy) Roseen, both of Roseau; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Hilma Naslund, Ludvig, Carl, Gust, Henfred, Ester Solbrand, Freda Anderson, Victor, Robert, Knute, Helge and Alfred.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Riverside Lutheran Church, Wannaska.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Helgeson Funeral Chapel, Roseau.
Burial: Mickinock cemetery, Wannaska.
