Frances Klein
FOSSTON, Minn. -- Frances Klein, 88, Fosston, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, in the Villa of St. Vincent, Crookston.
Frances Woehle was born July 16, 1912, the daughter of Henry and Mary Woehle, in Becker County, Minn. She attended schools in Beaulieu, Minn., and Fosston. She married
George Klein on July 12, 1944, in Bagley. They lived in Fosston. George Klein died in 1987.
She is survived by daughters, Janice (Herman James) Klein, Center City, Minn., and Norene (Max) Hoftiezer, Anoka, Minn.; two grandchildren; and sisters, Sister Aquina Woehle, Crookston, and Martha (Arthur) Gagner, Brooks, Minn.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; and three sisters.
Services: Were held in Fosston
Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery, Bagley (Cease, Bagley).
Darlene Anderson
FERTILE, Minn. -- Darlene M. Anderson, 52, Fergus Falls, Minn., formerly of Fertile, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, in Lake Region Skilled Nursing Facility, Fergus Falls.
Darlene Marie Johnson was born March 11, 1948, the daughter of Alvin and Edna (Raad) Johnson, in Detroit Lakes. She moved with her family to Flom and Beltrami, Minn. She attended school in Fertile. She married
David Anderson on March 14, 1966, in Crookston. They lived in Virginia, Minn., until 1967, when they moved to Erskine, Minn. She worked for St. Francis Hospital, Crookston and Pioneer Memorial Home, Erskine. She moved to Fertile in January 1993, where she worked for Fair Meadow Nursing Home. In August 1995, she moved to Fergus Falls, where she lived and worked until 1998. She moved to Lakeville, Minn., and later returned to Fergus Falls.
She is survived by sons, David (Mary), Farmington, Minn., Dale (Jolie), Hampton, Minn., and Michael Gnadt, Sioux Falls, S.D.; a daughter, Amber Anderson, Lakeville; two grandchildren; sisters, Daralynn Johnson and DeAnn Johnson, both of Detroit, Mich., and Dolly (Tony) Wambach, Georgetown, Minn.; and brothers, Dean (Ralph Benton), Elkhart, Texas, Darryl, Fergus Falls, Danny and Deon (Angie).
Graveside Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oak Grove cemetery, Fergus Falls.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. today, with a 6 p.m. prayer service, Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls.
Phyllis Wimpfheimer
ANGUS, Minn. -- Phyllis Wimpfheimer, 74, Angus, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Phyllis Mae Knutson was born May 16, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Knute) Knutson, in Helgeland Township, Polk County, Minn., where she attended school. She married
Edwin Wimpfheimer on June 26, 1945, in Angus. They lived and farmed in Helgeland Township.
She is survived by her husband; children, Barbara (Patrick) Sprosty, Thief River Falls, Rose (Michael) Washburn, Caledonia, Wis., and Maynard (Karen), Williams, Minn.; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two step great-grandchildren; sisters, Caroline Hankinson, St. Louis, and Delores (Dolly) Kaml, Warren; and brothers, Oscar (Edna), Fort Atkinson, Wis., and Duane (Lila) and Dennis, both of Zerkel, Minn.
She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth; and a grandson.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Warren.
Visitation: After 5 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home, Warren, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Greenwood cemetery, Warren.
Laura Knochenmus
ROSEAU, Minn. -- Laura M. Knochenmus, 90, Roseau, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, in Sheltering Oaks Manor, Roseau.
Laura M. Qualey was born Jan. 4, 1910, the daughter of Edwin and Enger (Sliten) Qualey, in Hatton, N.D. She moved with her family to a farm near Salol, Minn. She married
Ernst Knochenmus on Jan. 18, 1928. They farmed until he died Aug. 22, 1936. She moved to Roseau, where she worked at East Side Grocery until 1943, when she worked at Honl's Bakery. She retired in 1974.
She is survived by a daughter, Doris (Henry) Kramer, Hong Kong; a son, Earl, Badger, Minn.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.
Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Roseau Community Church.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Helgeson Funeral Chapel, Roseau.
Burial: Hope cemetery, Roseau.
Merl Sorenson
GRYGLA, Minn. -- Merl Sorenson, 78, Grygla, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, in Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Merl R. Sorenson was born April 19, 1922, the son of Martin and Hannah (Teigland) Soren-son, in Waukegan, Ill. He grew up and attended school in Grygla. He married
Mildred Sletten on Feb. 25, 1947, in St. Louis. He worked at Johnson Motors-OMC in Waukegan from 1952 to 1982.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Elaine Sorenson (James Wells), Spring Grove, Ill.; sons, Roger, Beach Park, Ill., and Jerry (Cathy), Wheatland, Wis.; and seven grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Grace Lutheran Church, Grygla.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Valle cemetery, Benville Township, Beltrami County, Minn.
Military rites: American Legion and VFW Posts.
Trinity Goulet
BROOKS, Minn. -- Trinity A. Goulet, 16, Brooks, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at a Plummer, Minn., residence.
Trinity Arthur Goulet was born May 20, 1984, the son of Joseph and Josie (Adamski) Goulet, in Crookston. He attended school in Fertile, Crookston and Mentor. He had been at Plummer High School since the 7th grade, where he was a junior. He worked at Shooting Star Casino during the summer and had worked construction since school started.
He is survived by his parents, Brooks; brothers and sisters, Lucas, Kari, Joe Jr. and Casey Goulet, all of Brooks; stepbrothers, Bobby Goulet, in Arkansas, and Joshua Goulet, Stillwater, Minn.; and stepsisters, Jennifer Yarbo, in Texas, and Jolena Goulet, Langdon, N.D.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Brooks.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with a 7: 30 p.m. prayer service, and one hour before services all in the church.
Burial: St. Joseph Catholic cemetery (Johnson, Red Lake Falls, Minn.).
Donald Stalboerger
WAUBUN, Minn. -- Donald M. Stalboerger, 74, Waubun, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, in St. Mary's Regional Health Center Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes, Minn.
Donald M. Stalboerger was born June 10, 1926, the son of John and Martha (Winter) Stalboerger, in Mahnomen, Minn. He attended school near Waubun. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married
Julia Young on June 24, 1947, in Waubun. He worked for the Waubun Creamery, Waubun Liquor Store, drove bus for the Waubun School, and worked for Waubun Cattle Co. and Bursch Farms, near Mahnomen. He retired in the late 1990s. Julia Stalboerger died in 1975.
He is survived by sons, Bob (Gretchen), Callaway, Minn., and Doug, Thief River Falls; daughters, Cathy (Dennis) Erickson, Pelican Rapids, Minn., Michelle (Jim) Nowak, St. Francis, Wis., and Sheila (Dale) Erickson, Mahnomen; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Ervin (Patsy), Underwood, Minn., and Wilfred, Waubun; and sisters, Rose (Delmar) Bensch, Ada, Minn., and Doris Underdahl, Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter; and a brother, John.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday, St. Ann's Catholic Church, Waubun.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a 7 p.m. bible vigil and Knights of Columbus rosary, Mattson Funeral Home, Mahnomen, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: St. Ann's Catholic cemetery, Waubun.
