Helen Sylvester
KENNEDY, Minn. -- Helen Sylvester, 91, Idaho Falls, Idaho, formerly of Kennedy, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, in Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, Idaho Falls.
Helen Olsonaski was born Aug. 3, 1909, the daughter of Stanislaus and Mary Olsonaski, in Richardville Township, Kittson County, Minn., where she attended school. She married
George Sylvester on Sept. 27, 1930, in Argyle, Minn. They lived in Kennedy, where she was a cook at the Kennedy School. She was also a seamstress and worked as a clerk at the Kiene Store and later Eukel's Hartz Store. George Sylvester died in 1973. She was a charter member of the VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by daughters, Marlene Peterson, Eden Prairie, Minn., Lois (Ben) Davis, South Lyon, Mich., and Jeanette (Rodney) Lysfjord, Idaho Falls; a son, Richard (Andrea), Barnesville, Minn.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; sisters, Rose (Ed) Grabowski, Emerson, Man., and Victoria (Erland) Widerstrand, Hallock, Minn.; and brothers, Edward (Rose) and Vincent (Verna), both of Lancaster, Minn.
She was preceded in death by an infant son; a son-in-law, James Peterson; brothers, Stanley and Felix; sisters, Ann and Martha; and half brothers and sisters, Josephine, Katherine, Joseph, Steve, William and Frank.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Maria Lutheran Church, Kennedy.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at the church.
Burial: Kennedy cemetery (Hughes, Hallock).
Allan Bayne
WEST OSLO, Minn. -- Allan Bayne, 83, West Oslo, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at home.
Allan John Bayne was born June 12, 1917, the son of William and Jessie (Blue) Bayne, in Grand Forks. He lived in the Oslo area all his life, where he graduated from high school. He attended agricultural school in Park River, N.D., and Fargo. He married
Leona Dauksavage on June 14, 1950, in Warsaw, N.D. They lived near Oslo, where he farmed. He worked for Eickhof and Witcher Construction Companies and at the missile sites in Nekoma, N.D.
He is survived by his wife; children, Gwyndale (Marge) and Georgine Johnson, both of Grand Forks, Willie (Kathy), Alvarado, Minn., and Leon, Oslo; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris; and a brother, William.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oslo.
Visitation: After 5 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and one hour before services all in the church.
Burial: St. Joseph cemetery (Quanrud-DuBore, Warren, Minn.).
Clarence Hill
RADIUM, Minn. -- Clarence L. Hill, 90, Radium, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, in ManorCare Nursing Center, Fargo.
Clarence Louis Hill was born April 2, 1910, the son of Louis and Mary (Jacobson) Hill, in Radium, Minn., where he attended country school. He farmed before entering the military in World War II. He returned to Radium, where he farmed. He later moved to Fargo, where he worked for the Veterans Administration.
He is survived by sisters, Mary Martin, Renton, Wash., and Margaret Mattson, Mound, Minn.
He was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.
Services: Private services will be held.
Burial: Greenwood cemetery, Warren, Minn. (Quanrud-DuBore, Warren).
Gerald Johnson
FOSSTON, Minn. -- Gerald "Jerry" Johnson, 71, Fosston, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Gerald Vernon Johnson was born Oct. 20, 1929, the son of Vernon and Tena (Hegland) Johnson, in Chicago. He moved with his family to Fosston, where he attended school. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Fosston High School as the custodian for more than 30 years until retiring.
He is survived by a brother, Gordon (Lenna), Fridley, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Johnson, Minneapolis, and Laurlie Johnson, Springfield, Mo.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Garth, Glenn, and Gerard.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Kingo Lutheran Church, Fosston.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home, Fosston, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Kingo Lutheran cemetery.
Alfred Everhart
CLEARBROOK, Minn. -- Alfred Everhart, 89, Clearbrook, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, in North Country Regional Hospital, Bemidji.
Alfred Everhart was born March 11, 1911, the son of Ralph and Golda (Numbers) Everhart, in Park Rapids, Minn., where he attended school and worked at a feed store. He married
Claire Lathrop on Feb. 15, 1938, in Park Rapids. In 1940, they moved to Bagley, where he was in the feed and gas business with his brothers, Herbert and Paul. In 1945, they moved to Clearbrook, where he opened his own feed and gas business. In 1948, they added groceries to the store. They sold their business in 1975, when they retired.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Karen (Gordon) Olson, Leonard, Minn., and Julie Gladen and DeAnn (Frank) Dyrdahl, both of Clearbrook; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul (Emily), Bagley.
He was preceded in death by daughters, Alyce and Lois; two grandsons; brothers, Kenneth, Herbert and Leonard; and a sister, Alice.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, First Baptist Church, Clearbrook.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. family service, Cease Family Funeral Home, Bagley.
Martha Przybylski
ARGYLE, Minn. -- Martha Przybylski, 81, Argyle, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, in the Good Samaritan Center, Warren, Minn.
Martha Ebertowski was born Sept. 1, 1919, the daughter of Joseph and Martha (Stoltman) Ebertowski, in Warsaw, N.D., where she grew up. She married
Ralph Przybylski on June 14, 1939, in Warsaw. They lived in Argyle. Ralph Przybylski died Aug. 4, 1974. She cooked for senior meals and at the St. Rose School.
She is survived by children, Phyllis Harris, Champlin, Minn., Evelyn Eastman, Palm Springs, Calif., Ralph, Roseau, Minn., and Jon, Medford, Okla.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Isabelle Juhl, Long Beach, Calif., Helen Gornowicz and JoAnn Slominski, both of Warsaw, N.D., Natalie Huebner, Upland, Calif., Evelyn Marshall, Lakewood, Calif., and Mary Ann Sevigny, Grafton, N.D.
She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph; a daughter, Elaine; seven brothers; and four sisters.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Argyle.
Visitation: After 6 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and one hour before services, all in the church.
Burial: St. Rose cemetery, Argyle (Quanrud- DuBore, Warren, Minn.).
Edwin Wimpfheimer
ANGUS, Minn. -- Edwin Wimpfheimer, 82, Angus, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, in Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Edwin Henry Wimpfheimer was born Aug. 3, 1918, the son of Henry and Barbara (Love) Wimpfheimer, in Euclid, Minn. He attended country school. He moved with his family to Helgeland Township, Polk County, Minn., in 1937. He married
Phyllis Knutson on June 26, 1945, in Angus. They lived in Helgeland Township, where they farmed. Phyllis Wimpfheimer died Nov. 11, 2000.
He is survived by children, Barbara (Patrick) Sprosty, Thief River Falls, Rose (Michael) Washburn, Caledonia, Wis., and Maynard (Karen), Williams, Minn.; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two stepgreat-grandsons; sisters, Emma Stobbe, Minnetonka, Minn., Annie Langle, Bemidji, and Doris Erickson and Betty Voytilla, both of Warren, Minn.; and a brother, Albert "Bud" (Elizabeth), Cedar, Minn.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth; a grandson; and sisters, Adeline Wimpfheimer, Edith Pederson, Alice Solvik Pederson and Dorothy Halsa.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Warren.
Visitation: After 6 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home, Warren, and one hour before services in the church.
