Age 72 of Lakeland, MN. passed away surrounded by family after a battle with Brain Cancer on November 22, 2015. Dick always put his family first. He was a handy man, a hobbyist, and had a passion for remote control model airplanes. Survived by loving wife, Linda; children, Ann Marie (Peter) Ludwig, Christopher, and Debra (Ryan) Oakland; grandchildren, Adrian and Sage; and many other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1205 6th St., Hudson, WI on Monday, November 30 at 6PM with visitation from 4-6PM.

Horton, LaVonn Esther (nee Gordon)

Age 90, formerly of Osage, Fairfield, and Iowa City, passed away on Nov. 20, 2015, at the Johanna Shores Presbyterian Home in St. Paul, Minn. Her life and faith will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Dec. 19, 2015, at Parkview Evangelical Free Church in Iowa City, with the Rev. Steve Rachke officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church. Burial will be at Osage cemetery in Osage, following the luncheon. LaVonn was born on Feb. 17, 1925 to Hannah and James Gordon, the youngest of six children. She attended Barnum Community Schools where she graduated in May, 1942. LaVonn attended the University of Iowa where she met her husband, Philip, and graduated with a B.S. in Commerce in June, 1948. She was united in marriage to Dr. Philip Starr Horton on Sept. 1, 1946, in Barnum. The family lived in Osage for 20 years, where Dr. Horton practiced dentistry and they raised four children. LaVonn was devoted to her family and was dearly loved. She was a choir director for 11 years at the First Baptist Church in Osage and active in her community. The family moved to Iowa City in 1970 where Dr. Horton taught at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. LaVonn and Phil lived in Iowa City for 25 years prior to residing in Fairfield from 1995-2000, where they were members of the First United Methodist Church. LaVonn and Philip served as volunteer missionaries in Thailand, Hong Kong and Africa over the course of 10 years under the auspices of Rotary International. She also volunteered at a nursing home in Iowa City, playing piano for the residents. LaVonn composed vocal music and poetry, and was a nearly 60 year member of P.E.O. She is survived by her children, Dr. Douglas (Patti) Horton of Cedar Rapids, John (Tammy) Horton of Topeka, Kan., Jeannine Wiegert of St. Paul, Minn., and Steve (Merrilee) Horton of St. Paul, Minn.; along with seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. LaVonn was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Philip; her parents Hannah and James Gordon; sister Leola of Ft. Dodge; and brothers, Franklin, Vernon, Lawrence and Marion. Memorials may be given to Parkview Evangelical Free Church of Iowa City, Iowa or to the First Baptist Church of Osage, Iowa.

Tunison, Grace (nee Guidetti)
April 24, 1920 - November 19, 2015
Age 95 of St. Paul, passed away peacefully with family on November 19, 2015. preceded in death by beloved husband, Hubert; parents, James and Angelina Guidetti; siblings, Ray, Emily, Gerry, John, and Anthony. Survived by children, Mary (Brad) Dennis, and Peter (Linda Jungers); grandchildren, Chris, Damian, Drew, Meri and Nico; and several great-grandchildren. Grace was born in 1920 in Lyndhurst, New Jersey and graduated from Newark State Teachers College where she met Hugh before he joined the Navy; they were married in 1944 and lived in Rutherford, NJ for the next sixty years where she was active in the community. A lifelong Wood-Ridge, NJ elementary school teacher, after retiring she continued to enjoy her love for travel and sailing with Hugh and her best friend Vilma who she met when they began teaching together in 1942. Later in life she moved to Minnesota closer to her children and enjoyed her final years there in peace. A longtime member of St Mary Church in Rutherford, NJ, she was recently a member at St Louis in St Paul. Services and interment to be held in New Jersey at a future time. Memorials preferred to a charity of your choice.

Fuller, Michael Laverne
March 4, 1948 - November 19, 2015
Age 67, of Webster, passed away Thursday evening, November 19, 2015. Michael was born in Saint Paul, MN, on March 4, 1948, a son of the late Vern F. and Theresa P. (Apfelbacher) Fuller. He attended public schools in Saint Paul, and was a 1967 graduate of Mechanic Arts High School. Mike served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1972. He returned to Saint Paul and resided there until his retirement five years ago when he moved to the Webster area. Mike was employed most of his adult life as a member of International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers local #34. He held various offices within the union local including Vice-President and served on the Apprentice Board. Early in his career, the union provided training for him at Dunwoody College of Technology. Mike was a hard-working, strong-willed individual. He had a great sense of humor and lived life to the fullest. Mike loved being outdoors and golfing, fishing including ice fishing, and deer hunting. He was a huge NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching local races at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, WI. Mike cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren and liked watching sports on television with them. He also enjoyed the company of his dogs, Hoosier and Maggie. Mike is survived by his two children: Lisa (Matt) Olson and Tony Fuller, and their mother, Mary (Belmonte) Fuller; six grandchildren: Nicholas, Matthew and Kaylee Olson, and Paige, Ashlee and Tess Fuller; a sister, Rose Tschida; a brother, John Fuller; brother-in-law, Ron Lustig; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathy Lustig.

Libbey, Lucille Mary (nee Larson)

Age 102 of River Falls, WI, , and a longtime resident of Grand Rapids, Minn., on Pokegama Lake, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 in River Falls, Wis., surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born May 20, 1913 in Nerstrand, Minn., to Andrew and Serina (Stenbakken) Larson. She attended the University of Minnesota and married William Wesley Libbey. Lucille moved to Grand Rapids in 1934. She was active in PEO, AAUW, Itasca Players, Job's Daughters, Cub Scouts, and Campfire Girls. Lucille was a columnist for the Herald Review. She created the Winkles line of pottery figures which were very popular at craft shows. Lucille was devoted to her six children and was loved by one and all. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wesley Libbey; sister, Delta Mooers and her parents. Lucille is survived by her sons, Bradford (Lydia) of Bellevue, Wash., Keith (Patricia) of Afton, Minn., William (June) of Northfield, Minn., Robert (Virginia) of Sandpoint, Idaho, Richard (Donna) of Grand Rapids, Minn.; daughter, Cynthia (John) Gilpin of Afton, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. VISITATION: 1 p.m. Saturday Nov. 28, 2015 in Community Presbyterian Church, 703 N Pokegama Ave. Grand Rapids, Minn. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia; sons, Timothy (Marge), Mark (Cheryl); daughters, LuAnn (Scott) Wellan; Lynn (Michael) Ostwald; 8 grandchildren; 1 precious great-grandson; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial service at St. Williams Church, 6120 5th St. NE, Fridley, MN on Wednesday, November 25, at 11AM with visitation one hour prior.

Age 75 of Shoreveiw Died November 16, 2015, at the Gathering in Oak Park Heights of brain cancer. Carol earned a PhD from the University of Minnesota. She taught English at St. Paul Academy and Summit School in St. Paul, MN; Phillips Academy in Andover, MA and the University of Minnesota. In mid-life she entered the business world and was employed by NCR Comten and Residential Finance Corporation among others. Carol had a lively mind and an insatiable curiosity. She loved books, nature and people. She was an inspiring, devoted teacher and a diligent, creative and forceful business person. She is survived by her husband, Dan Welch of Shoreview; daughter Gail Irish and granddaughter Alexis Irish of New Brighton; step-daughter Anna Lawrence, son-in-law David Lawrence and granddaughter Sophia Lawrence of Columbia, MO; sister Lynne Meyer of Kirkwood, MO and brother-in-law Jon Welch of Dunlap, IL. She also leaves two nieces, two nephews, a grand nephew and three grand nieces. There will be a service next summer, June 18, at St. John's Church in LaPointe, WI. Memorials preferred to donor's choice.
