Age 80, of Hastings, MN. Arlene was born July 13, 1932 in Miesville, Minn., daughter of Art and Lena Gerlach Kummer. Arlene worked many years at Guardian Angel School and Haven Homes as a cook. Arlene is survived by three children, Lyle, LuJuanna, and Phyllis; four siblings, "Bud" Harold, Shirley, Caroyl, and Gary. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents and older sister, Eleanor Hunter. Mass will be at 12 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Regina Hospital Chapel. Visitation will be 1 hour before at 11 a.m. There will be a gathering afterward.

He is survived by daughters Jennifer (Andy) Hemminger and Mellissa (Carl) Turner, two grandchildren, brothers Don (Laurie), Mike (Joy), and Paul; and many other loving family members and friends. Age 90, of White Bear Lake. Died peacefully on Nov. 27, with his family at his side. He was born to Harold E. and Agnes Haines Reed on Dec. 18, 1921 and grew up in White Bear Lake. Following graduation from White Bear High School, he joined the U.S. Army and served in WWII. After the war, he returned to White Bear and in 1947 married
Shirley Reynolds. He joined his father and grandfather in the family business - J.A. Reed Oil Company (corner of 4th St. and Washington) - and ran the business until his retirement in 1981. After an 18 year retirement in Winter Haven, Florida, he and Shirley moved back to White Bear in 2000. Before his retirement he was active in the White Bear Lions Club and the White Bear Chamber of Commerce. Following his retirement he was an active volunteer in Winter Haven and in White Bear Lake. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Shirley, and his brother, William A. "Bill". He is survived by his two children, Lucinda "Cindy" (Bruce) Vantine of Florissant, MO, and William R. "Bill" (Charlotte) Reed of White Bear Lake; four grandchildren, Elizabeth "Libby" (Chad) Martin, Allen, TX; Charles (Marcie) Vantine, St. Louis, MO; John M. Reed, Jersey City, NJ; and William Trask Reed, White Bear Lake; four great grandchildren, Bailey and Ashlyn Martin; Theo and Smith Vantine; and his sister Gail Harrison, Katy, TX. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Dec. 28 at 10 a.m. at St. John in the Wilderness Episcopal Church (corner of Clark Street and 1st St.) in White Bear Lake. Age 42, of Minneapolis, was a wonderfully warm, giving, loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 20 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Christian was an accomplished fine art painter, a custom furniture designer and builder, musician and avid fisherman. Christian, son of Holger and Gloria (Frederick) Nielsen, was born on July 23, 1970 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He spent the first three and a half years of his life in Glenwood City, Wisconsin, where he lived on a small farm with his parents and two sisters. In 1974, he moved to Baldwin, WI, where he spent his childhood in a cozy home in the woods on Pine Lake. Christian graduated from Baldwin- Woodville High School in 1988. He attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) and graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting. It was here that he met the love of his life, Stevie Rexroth. They were perfect partners through all life's journeys, including trips to Ireland, Paris, New York City and many days spent on the north shore of Lake Superior. Christian had a great sense of humor and a wonderful smile. His big hugs would literally lift you right off the ground. We will all miss him dearly. He leaves his wife, Stevie Rexroth, his mother, Gloria Fern, his sisters Karen Nielsen and Deanna Medenwaldt, stepsister Cyndee Washburn, stepbrothers Jeff and Dan Fern, Stevie's parents, Duane and MaryLou Rexroth, all of the Rexroth family, and many well-loved nieces, nephews, in-laws and amazing friends. Christian was preceded in death by his father, Holger Nielsen, brother, John Nielsen, and step-father, Dale Fern. A gathering will be held on Tuesday, December 11th from 6:30-9:30 PM at the Eagles Club, 2507 East 25th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55406. Age 59 of Ashland, WI, formerly of St. Paul. She went to be with Jesus on November 18th, surrounded by a prayerful and loving family, after complications from heart surgery. Barb was born on May 17th, 1953 to Lloyd Paul, now deceased, and Mary Angela Paul (Vandenberg). Barb graduated from North St. Paul Sr. High in 1971, and Globe College of Business. She enjoyed her perennial garden and the humming birds that surrounded her Ashland, WI home. She also had a passion for the MN Vikings. She will be missed by her devoted husband, Tim; loving children, Christopher (Rachel) and Jenna; grandson, Jasper; sisters, Sandra, Carol, and Gayle; brothers, Roger and Allan; and many other loving family members and friends. She was greeted in heaven by her father and brother, Raymond Paul. A Christian Memorial Celebration will be held on Friday, Nov. 23rd, 7PM, at Lake Harriet Christian Church, 5009 Beard Ave. S, Mpls, 55410. Memorials preferred to the family.
