Ilene I. Plekkenpol, age 81, of Shakopee, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.
Ilene was born on June 9, 1932, in Belle Plaine, Minnesota, the daughter of Ervin and Leona (Will) Gruetzmacher. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School. On January 21, 1954, Ilene married
Kenneth Plekkenpol in Belle Plaine. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, needlework, baking, camping with family and friends, playing cards and bingo, and spending time wit her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survived by husband Kenneth; son Lee and wife, Penny; daughter Lynn Schwartz and husband, Patrick, both of Chaska; grandchildren Amy Watson and husband, Douglas, Kenton Plekkenpol and wife, Jennifer, Sarah Plekkenpol; great-grandchildren Brody, Brockton, and Evelyn Watson; sister-in-law Betty Gruetzmacher; and Godmother to many. Ilene was preceded in death by her parents Ervin and Leona Gruetzmacher; and brother Myron Gruetzmacher.
Laura L. Sorensen

Laura L. Sorensen, age 92, of Shakopee, died on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Shakopee, surrounded by her loving daughters and granddaughter.
Laura was born on January 24, 1920, in Miltona, MN, the daughter of Henry and Olive (Hasbruch) Schulke. She married
Viggo Sorensen on June 17, 1941, in Kay Hill, MN (Edina/Eden Prairie area). She worked as a factory worker for Midland Glass and American Can. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, cooking and flowers.
Laura is survived by her daughters, Elaine Kohout of Lydia, Vickie Otto of Belle Plaine; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sister, Elnora Elven of White Bear Lake; brother, Norman Schulke of Elmora. preceded in death by husband, Viggo; sons, Harold and Duane; daughter, Nancy Bartyzal; two infant grandchildren, Anthony Kohout and Joeleen Beaupre; parents; brothers and sisters.
Frederick (Fritz) Ennenga

Fritz Ennenga, age 82, of Shakopee passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Friendship Manor Health Center in Shakopee. Fritz was born on May 16, 1930 in Odessa, Minnesota the son of Robert and Adeline (Schultz) Ennenga. He married
Carol Schutz on April 30, 1993 in Shakopee.
Fritz was a retired excavator and was the owner of his own sand and gravel business. Fritz served with the Minnesota National Guard. He was a member of Union Local 49 of the Heavy Equipment Operators and a former member of the Bloomington Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; 3 sons, 1 daughter, Gary (Sandy) Ennenga of Cross Lake, Mn. Dennis (Kelley) Ennenga of Shakopee, Rick (Peg) Ennenga of Kalispell, Mt. Michelle (Bruce) Zeman of Pine River. 2 step-children, Brian (Jill Hager) Mickus of Belle Plaine, Heather (Kelvin Roopnarine) Mickus of Prior Lake; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Bob Ennenga (Evelyn Dixon) of Finlayson and Steve (Lana) Fredin of Bloomington; nieces and nephews.
Barbara A. Trowbridge

Barbara A. 'Barbie', age 56 of Shakopee, died on September 18, 2012, at her residence. Born on September 5, 1956, the daughter of Leonard and Louise (Hounder) Vyskocil.
Barb was employed in marketing and sales for US Bank. She was active as a troop leader and board member for the Girl Scouts, and she was a board member for the Midwest Marketing Association.
Survived by husband, Darrell; daughters and son, Andrea, Todd and Tania; parents, Leonard and Louise Vyskocil; brothers, Dennis and Glenn Vyskocil; niece, Tiffany Swanson. preceded in death by her infant brother, Tommy.
Althea (Rank) Mandan

Althea Mandan, age 65 of Dickinson, North Dakota, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012 in Watford City, ND due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Althea Marie Wilber was born February 22, 1947 in Lemmon, SD, the daughter of James and Ida (Wenner) Wilber. She grew up and attended schools in Morris Town, SD. Later Althea moved with her parents to Walnut Grove, MN where she later graduated from high school. On June 19, 1965, Althea and Robert Rank were united in marriage. To this union three girls were born: Christina, Kay and Rabecca. Together they made their home and raised their girls in Shakopee, MN.
Althea enjoyed being with her girls and keeping her home. She enjoyed reading, playing games, cooking and baking for her family. Church was very important to Althea and was very passionate in helping in the church. Althea loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed teaching them new things.
Robert passed away in 1999. In 2003, Althea moved to Dickinson to be closer to her family. This is where she met Adam 'Tony' Mandan. Althea and Tony were married
on September 22, 2003 and have made their home in Dickinson since that time. Althea was instrumental in and maintained a Bible study which was held in New Town at the Ft. Berthold Jail for Adults and Juveniles. She was returning from New Town after leading a Bible study the day of her accident.
Althea is survived by her husband, Adam 'Tony' Mandan, of Dickinson; three daughters, Christina (Brian) Schultz of New Prague, MN, Kay (Jason) Kempffer of Faribault, MN, and Rebecca Rank of Owatonna, MN; one step-daughter, Marliss Mandan of New Town, ND; one sister, Mary (Ross) Jacobi of Ludlow, SD; four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ida Wilber; her first husband, Robert Rank; and one great-grandson.
Theresa A. O'Keefe

Theresa A. O'Keefe, age 90, of Prior Lake formerly of Savage died on Monday, September 17 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Theresa was born on July 23, 1922 in Prior Lake the daughter of Michael and Bridget (Carroll) Conroy. She married
Richard J. O'Keefe on January 15, 1949 in St. Paul. Theresa worked in food service as a cook at St. John the Baptist School prior to retirement.
Theresa is survived by her daughter, Laura; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, John, Martin, Coleman and Anthony; sisters, Ellen Engelbert and Margaret Egan.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to the nurses and staff at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine.
Thomas W. Ess

Thomas W. Ess, 69, of Estero, FL, died peacefully after a long battle with cancer on September 10, 2012 at his residence in Mound.
Tom was born in Northfield, MN, October 5, 1942 to parents, Wallace and Lillian (Siebenaler) Ess. He married
Judy Notermann, June 5, 1965.
Tom graduated from Guardian Angels and then attended St. Cloud State University. In 1969, Tom started working for the family business, Ess Brothers & Sons, Inc., eventually becoming the owner. Tom had a commercial pilot license and had many hobbies and interests. He was an avid boater, fisherman, gardener, and he loved to travel. Tom enjoyed going to garage sales to find the next bargain. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as the Jaycees.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Notermann Ess, daughters, Kimberly (Paul) and Tiffany (Andrew), sons, Troy (Karen) and Trent (Sonja). Foster daughters Kim Watson and Peggy Schuft; nine grandchildren, Hailey, Kenny, Madelyn, Camryn, Avery, Marissa, Tristan, Everett, Jason, and his siblings Mary Kay, Paul and Cindy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lil and Wally.
Gerald F. McCabe

McCabe, Gerald 'Mac', age 85 of Shakopee, passed away September 8, 2012, at Community Assisted Living in Shakopee. Born in St. Peter, MN, the son of Gerald V. 'Red' and Rose (Amberg) McCabe. Mac attended St. Peter High School. He was a Merchant Sailor from 1944-1948 who sailed tankers and troop-ships, and many others. He was a cook and baker on board, and then he was a cook and baker in the Army. Mac was the proprietor of McCabe's Bakery in St. Peter. He also attended Dunwoody Institute in Mpls. He was a great hunter, fisherman, and trapper.
A great loving son, brother, and uncle to all. He is survived by sister, Rose Skramstad, of Prescott, WI; many nieces and nephews. preceded in death by parents, Gerald 'Red' and Rose; brother, Cyril; sister, Evelyn Welch, Dolores Ashcraft, Yvonne 'Tonnie' Heilman, and LaJune Hall.
Ronald Lee Ellingson

Ronald Lee Ellingson was born July 9, 1943 in Albert Lea, MN, the son of Joel and Selma (Cleven) Ellingson. Ron graduated high school in 1961 and enlisted in the United States Army in 1964. He was stationed in Asmara, Ethiopia serving the Army Intelligence division at a listening post. After a whirlwind courtship, Ron married
Gwen Quinn on March 21, 1969. They welcomed their first daughter Frances Lee in 1971. Soon after, they moved to Forest City, Iowa where Ron took a job with Winnebago. While in Forest City they welcomed their second daughter, Ingrid Lee in 1974. They next moved to Spencer, Iowa, then briefly they moved in with Joel and Selma while the house in Shakopee was being completed. They moved to Shakopee in 1978. Ron held a position as fleet manager with Chrysler, Deli Express, Ramsey County, and he retired from Land O'Lakes in 2007. Ron loved to travel, as a family they traveled all over the U.S, Canada and Norway. Ron had a love of geneology, old cars and anything associated with Norway. He enjoyed time with his family, bonfires, hunting and fishing. He truly loved his family, both close and extended, he attended every reunion that he could and kept in contact with many extended family members near and far throughout his life. Ron was 69 when he passed away from a heart attack on Friday, September 7, 2012 at the V.A. Medical Center.
He is survived by wife, Gwen; daughters, Frances (Scott) Boehning, Ingrid (Jim) Conn; grandchildren, Nicholas and Erik, Vivian Auleen and Sophia; sisters and brother, Gilma Oppedahl, ElRoy Ellingson (friend Marilyn), Doreen (Tom) Riesetter; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Paula J. Loeffler, age 50, of Shakopee. Died on September 5, 2012, at her home in Shakopee.
Born on February 25, 1962, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Rupert Loeffler and Emma 'Dolly' (Jung) Loeffler.
Paula earned her Masters Degree at the University of Minnesota, and taught French at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. She had a love for music, arts, and history.
She is survived by her mother, Emma 'Dolly' Loeffler; father, Rupert Loeffler; sister, Teresa (Aaron) Lawrence; niece, Courtney (John) Coxon and their son, Devin; nieces, Ivy, Jill, and Caitlyn Lawrence. preceded in death by brother, Michael.

Willie C. Hesser on January 3, 1954 in Bagley. Donna was a retired employee of Minnetonka Inc.
Survivors include her daughter, Patti (Tom) Hein and son Larry Hesser all of Shakopee; 2 grandchildren, Jaime (Ryan) Haas and Sadie Hesser; 6 great grandchildren; sister Marlys (Ray) Olsen of Roanoke, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband.
