Earl J. Weckman died at home on the family farm on 3/28/12, just 3 days short of his 86th birthday. Born on April 1, 1926, the son of John and Anna (Schneider) Weckman. Earl married Marian Stelten on May 29, 1945, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska. For 40 years, he was the Treasurer of Jackson Township. Besides his wife, Earl's other loves were farming and family.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Marian (1992); parents, John and Anna; Siblings Silvinus Weckman, Viola Casserly, Bernadette Streitz, Germain Weckman, Ralph Weckman.
Survivors include his children, John and wife Alice, Dennis and wife Sandy, Marilyn Tech and husband Bill, Tom and wife Patty, Joseph and wife Diane; grandchildren, Barbara Brekke and husband Jon, Patrick and wife Sara, Kevin and wife Kerry, Craig and wife Amy, Melissa Deutsch and husband Bill, Kelly Vourlos and husband Mike, Kyle, Mike, Nancy Jirik and husband Matt, Kassandra, Julie, Kristina Pemble and husband Ray, Edward, and Tim; 14 great-grandchildren, Maria, Luke, Anna and Jacob Brekke, Kaitlin, Abigail and Sean Weckman, Scott and Ruth Weckman, Maxwell and Elizabeth Weckman, Reina and Mari Vourlos, Clara Jirik; sisters-in-law, Lorna Stelten, Phyllis Stelten; special cousins, Silverius and Ceil Becker, Clara Stelten.

Patricia L. Sopsic
9/8/1947 — 3/26/2012
Patricia L. Sopsic, age 64, of Shakopee, died on Monday, March 26, 2012, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born on September 8, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Patrick and Georgiana (Manac) Homer.
Patricia worked for the University of Minnesota Physicians, and was the Operations Manager for Radiology and Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Survivors include her husband, John; sons, Paul and wife Karen, and John and wife Jennifer; daughter, Jennifer; grandchildren, Kira and Brooke, Christian, Wyatt; father, Patrick Homer; brothers and sisters, Geoffrey, Mark, Brian, Laura, Cindy. preceded in death by her mother, Georgiana.

Clarice Schaller
12/6/1925 — 3/26/2012
Clarice T., age 86, of Waconia, former long time resident of St. Paul, was called home on March 26, 2012. Greatly loved by family and friends.
Clarice was born on December 6, 1925, in Crawford County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Thomas and Clara (Quamme) Johnson. She married LaVerne O. Schaller on December 16, 1950, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Carol was a homemaker, and a member of Sons of Norway.
Survived by daughters, Gail (Michael) Bindewald, Carol (Gary) Averbeck; grandchildren, Karen, Jason (Andrea), and Brian (Kelley) Bindewald, Joy (Darrin) Sabby, Dawn (Hunter) Anderson, Jared (Alicia) Averbeck, and Dan Averbeck; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Reverend Walter Johnson and his wife, Marilyn, and Robert Johnson. Preceded by husband, LaVerne; parents, Clara and Thomas Johnson.

Joshua C. Sumerfelt
7/2/1973 — 3/25/2012
Joshua C. Sumerfelt, age 38, of Watertown, died on March 25, 2012, at his residence. Born on July 2, 1973, in Shakopee, the son on Glenda Schmitt and Larry Sumerfelt.
Joshua had a curious mind, and enjoyed walks, reading at the library, listening to music, and excursions with his friends.
Survived by mother, Glenda Schmitt of Shakopee; father, Larry Sumerfelt of Marshall; sister, Andi Sumerfelt of Sterling, Illinois; grandmother, Dorothy Schmitt of Shakopee; grandparents, Edmund and Vivian Sumerfelt of Marshall; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Joshua was preceded in death by his grandfather, Barney Schmitt.

George Henry Breeggemann
7/20/1942 — 3/23/2012
George Henry Breeggemann, age 69, of Shakopee, died Friday, March 23, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee. Born July 20, 1942, in Shakopee, the son of John and Marie (Neiters) Breeggemann. George served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On June 15, 1968 George married Carol Eiden at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska. George worked in Security at Mystic Lake Casino for 12 years, and was a school bus driver in Shakopee for almost 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, softball and playing cards. He was a retired Shakopee fireman and member of the VFW 4046 in Shakopee. George was also a member of the James F. Campbell Knights of Columbus Council 1685 of Shakopee. George is survived by loving wife, Carol; children, Jody, Jeff, Sondra (Craig) Glynn, Kurt (Tiffany); grandchildren, Corinna and Andrea Glynn, Chance Breeggemann, Maddyson Breeggemann, Selina and Skylla Draman; sisters, Angeline Woodworth, Virginia (Norbert) Gregory; brother, John Joseph (Sandra); sister-in-law, Janelle Breeggemann; special niece, Debbie Green; many other loved nieces and nephews. Preceded by parents, John and Marie; sisters and brothers, Mary Ploumen, Michael, Marjorie (Bernard) Schindler, Georgina, John Henry, and Bernard; brother-in-law, Charles Woodworth.

Mary Bernice Miller
11/19/1915 — 5/26/2012
Mary 'Bernice' (Weiland) Miller, age 96, of Shakopee. Born on November 19, 1915, in Belle Plaine, MN, the daughter of Joseph and Ida (Feldmann) Weiland. Bernice married Harold Miller in 1940 in Shakopee.
Survived by sons, Bruce and wife Susan, Chris and wife Marcia, both of Chanhassen, and Jeff and wife Marianne of Eden Prairie; grandchildren, Shawn and wife Amy, Shannon, Brian, Brett, and Scott; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Casey, Theodore. preceded in death by husband, Harold; brother, William Casey Weiland.

Mary E. Hilla
4/15/1955 — 5/25/2012
Mary E. MaMaBear Singewald Holtz Hilla of Burnsville, age 57. Born on April 15, 1955, surrounded by her beloved children, passed peacefully from this life on May 25, 2012.
She heroically fought with all of her might to beat the disease that robbed her of so many things. But it did not rob her of her beauty, her silly sense of humor, her class, her sassiness, her strong will, her fun spirit, and her love for all she encountered. Her biggest pride was to be the mother of four daughters, three sons-in-law, and a grandma to her long-awaited granddaughter.
Survived by her cherished daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Phil Anderson, Julie and Mark Johnson, Kristy and Mike Farb, Jamie Hilla; adored granddaughter Maya Farb, and six grand-dogs; as well as her dear siblings and family and friends, including: seven brothers, Jack (Linda), Tom (Terry), Bob (Joan), Ron (Lori), Bill (Julie), Jim (Cindy), Mike (Rachel), two sisters, Cindi (Jim), Amy (Steve); 35 nieces and nephews who consider her their favorite Aunt Mary; aunt, Jelaine; uncles, Bill (Rita), Dick (Jean), Ed (Pat), and many, many more who touched her life.
A special thanks to all of the individuals from the Regent of Burnsville, Dakota Communities Inndale, PSC Edina and Fairview Methodist Hospice. You enriched Mom's life profoundly and she, as well as all of us, considers you family.
MaMaBear, we love you more than words and are so proud of how you lived your life - full of passion, even amongst your struggles. What a legacy to leave for us! We know you are shining bright amongst the angels - we'll share you with them for a while until we are together, again.

Gilbert M. Koller

Gilbert M. Koller, age 78, of Shakopee, MN, formerly of Lamberton, MN, passed away at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, in Shakopee, on Friday, May 25, 2012. Born on March 8, 1934, in Lucan, MN, the son of Henry and Mary (Vogl) Koller.
He will be missed by his loving wife, Faye (Nelson) Koller; children, Richard (Wyne) Freseman of CA, Scott (Terry) Freseman of CA, Terrie Owens of WA, Mary Smith of WA, Paul Koller of Maple Grove, Kristin (Jason) Lamon of Shakopee; 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; sisters, Joan Collins of IA, Elizabeth Mulkerin of CA; brother, Joe Koller of MO.
Gilbert is preceded in death by his grandson and his parents.
Gilbert served in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion and the Lion's Club, both in Lamberton. He farmed in Lamberton until 1977, then he started his own Insurance Agency. Gilbert retired in 2001, and he and Faye moved to Shakopee to be closer to their children. While living in Lamberton, he was active in the community, and was especially active at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He was very proud to receive the Bishop's Metal of Service. Gilbert enjoyed playing cards, but his main love was of his children and grandchildren.

Maria Moreno Cuadra
6/25/1941 — 5/23/2012
Maria Moreno Cuadra, age 69, of Chaska, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Born on June 25, 1941, in Cavanas, El Salvador, the daughter of Lino and Maria (Iraheta) Moreno. Maria was a homemaker.
Survived by husband, Jose Mauricio Cuadra; children, Rigoberto Zambrano, Raul Zambrano, Martha Zambrano, Francisco Zambrano, Ana Cortez, and Miguel Zambrano.

Richard Annen
12/6/1954 — 5/17/2012
Richard B. Annen, age 57, of Jordan, MN, died on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at his residence in Jordan.
Born on December 6, 1954, in Shakopee, the son of Harry M. and Ann (LePage) Annen. Richard worked as a black topper.
Survived by sister, Arlene Miller of Shakopee; 2 brothers, James Annen and wife Dianne, and John Annen.

Carol E. Cody
2/5/1917 — 5/17/2012
Carol E. Cody, passed away May 17, 2012, at the age of 95. Devoted wife, mother, and friend. preceded in death by loving husband, Bob; parents, Joseph & Dora (Smith) Murphy. Survived by children, Bob (Arlene), Brian (Peggy), Keith (Marta), Kay (Ron Mohelski); brother, Joe Murphy; sister, Geneva Shannon; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Born in El Paso, WI. Carol was a country school teacher before moving to St. Paul, MN, and marrying her husband, Bob in 1947. They moved to Burnsville in 1956 to raise their family. After Bob's tragic death in 1969 Carol worked for the Burnsville School District and Data Sales Co., retiring in 1984. After moving from the family home in 1992, she enjoyed many new friendships at Eagle Ridge Sr. Apts. and Elim Care Center.
