Jimmy Lindberg
Jimmy (Jim) A. Lindberg, age 63, of Cambridge, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015.

Jim was born on April 21, 1952 in Braham, Minnesota to Wilbert and Dorothy Lindberg. As a result of Wilbert’s work,

Jim lived in several locations growing up before the family planted roots in Grandy, Minnesota.

Jim was proud of the fact that he went to a one-room school in Grandy prior to attending Cambridge High School.

It was at Cambridge High School that Jim met the love of his life, Connette (Connie) Fredlund, as a result of playing guitar in a band with her brother Doug.

After high school, Jim graduated from St. Cloud State and attended William Mitchell Law School. Jim and Connie were married on June 15, 1974. After law school, Jim and Connie made their home in Cambridge, Minnesota when Jim returned to practice law. Jim continued to practice law in Cambridge for the rest of his life. For the last few months of his life Jim enjoyed no longer being the boss and working for his son Grant at Lindberg Law Office, P.A. Jim took great pride in his family that he raised with Connie. Together they had three children, Grant, Anna and Jennifer. One of Jim’s greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandchildren, Audriana, Arturo, Brendan, Elliott and Chloe.

Beyond his family, Jim loved collecting Model A Fords and their accessories.

Jim spent a substantial amount of time working at the Blue Shed in Grandy on various car projects with his father, Wilbert.

He bought his first Model A Ford before he was 16 and his second on the day he graduated from High School.

Recently that second car was used by Jim and Connie on a once and lifetime trip to Maine for a national Model A tour.

Jim loved to travel taking many family vacations to Walt Disney World, trips to California to visit the Gades, weekend road trips to the other side of the country to pick up a recent car related purchase, trips to various national Model A conventions, goose hunting trips, and fishing trips to Canada. Jim and Connie also made it a point to take annual getaways in the recent years. Growing up Jim loved playing baseball and fast pitch softball starting with the Grandy Indians and the Bluejackets. Jim loved the Minnesota Twins and was proud of the fact he attended all three All-Star Games held in Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife Connie Lindberg, son Grant (Korey) Lindberg and daughters Anna (Arturo) Barcenas and Jennifer (Chris) Sayavong, grandchildren Brendan and Elliott Lindberg, Audriana and Arturo Barcenas, and Chloe Sayavong.

Memorials for the establishment of an educational scholarship are preferred in lieu of flowers.

Myrna Chatelle
Myrna Mabel Chatelle, age 78, of St. Louis Park, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Homestead of Coon Rapids.

She is survived by sons Mark (Kim) Chatelle of Blaine and Michael Chatelle of St. Louis Park; daughter Leah Conrade of Bloomington; two gandchildren; brothers James Landt of Buffalo and Edward Landt of Chaska.

No services are currently scheduled, a private interment will take place at Fort Snelling National cemetery.

Loren L. Lindberg
Loren L. Lindberg of Cambridge, MN passed away at his home on “Woodpecker Ridge, ” February 22, just three days short of his 78th birthday. He was born February 25, 1938 in Petaluma, CA to Willette (Findell) and Burton Lindberg. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1956. Loren worked two summers in Idaho for the U.S. Forestry and one summer for the MN DNR Forestry at Big Falls, MN. Loren worked various construction jobs and three winters in the woods as a lumberjack at Big Falls, MN. He then moved back to Cambridge and worked as a service tech for 38 years and retired from Minnegasco in 2000.

Loren was married and a son, Clifford, was born in 1963. Loren married Marilyn Mitchell Brown in 2008. They enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing together.

Loren had a love for the outdoors and was active hunting, fishing, and trapping for his entire life. He supported the outdoors by being a member of several clubs and organizations including: Isanti County Sportsman’s Club (founding member), Cambridge Bowman Club (founding member), National Wild Turkey Federation, as well as several others. Loren was also involved in firearms safety training being an instructor for over 40 years. If there was an opportunity to go out and enjoy the outdoors, you could count on Loren being interested and wanting to experience it. Loren mentored many youths as well as adults in the ethics and techniques of hunting and fishing. Loren was a member of Karmel Covenant Church.

After a courageous 23-year battle with cancer, enduring almost 6 years of chemo and radiation at Mayo Clinic, he always said each time he had health issues it was just another “Bump in the Road.” He was determined to keep living a great life with a positive attitude, strong ethic, and willingness to fight to the end. Loren had an impact on the people in his life, both personally and professionally. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

Loren is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; son, Cliff (Michele) of SW Ohio; Joni (Bob) of Iowa City, IA; Kelli (Rory) of Cambridge, MN; grandchildren, Erik, Kiley, Kristen, Anna, and Cale. Also surviving are siblings, Alver (Evenna), Carol, and Dennis (Phyllis). Lastly, Loren is survived by countless friends and his special dog, Remi. It was through his love of the outdoors that he met and became great friends with many individuals, one of whom is his best friend Dennis “Ole” Olson.

JoAnn Pangerl
JoAnn M. Pangerl, 75 of Isanti, passed away peacefully at Ecumen of North Branch on July 14, 2015.

She was born on June 3, 1940 in Minneapolis, MN to Edward and Inger (Suerstad) Brown.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roland “Ron”; brother-in-law Lloyd Welk.

JoAnn is survived by her sons Brandon (Jenny) Pangerl and Bryce (Jenny) Pangerl, three grandchildren Tryston Grady, Amaedeus and Zella McElrath, two sisters Kathy Welk and Patty (Richard) Hodges and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rebecca Anderson
Rebecca Jo Anderson, age 62, of Cambridge, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015 in Wyoming, Minnesota.

She is survived by her husband William as well as other relatives and friends.

Services will be at a future date.

Isabel Clark
Isabel Helen Clark, 96, of Cambridge, formerly of Hinckley, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016 at GracePointe Crossing East.

She was born on July 15, 1919 in Hinckley, Minnesota to Thomas and Elizabeth (Smith) Moffatt. Isabel grew up in Hinckley where she attended school.

On November 9, 1936 she was united in marriage to Leonard E. Clark at Elk Point, SD. They would make their home in Pine City before moving to Hinckley. In 1963 Isabel began working at the Cambridge State Hospital and in 1964 they moved to Cambridge so she was closer to her work. She began working at McBroom Hall and later went to school to become an LPN, working at the State Hospital until retiring in 1982. After retiring Isabel and Leonard traveled and also built a home near Skogman Lake.

She was an active member of the Wyanett, Dale and Oxlip Evangelical Free Churches. Isabel enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, baking, and her little dogs.

Isabel was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter Isabel, husband Leonard in January 2001, sister Mary Young, brother James Moffatt, half-sisters Christine Whited and Ruth Zwiers, and son-in-law Lloyd Sikkink. She is survived by her children Judy Sikkink of Duluth, Brenda (Leonard) Nyberg of Westland, MI, Leonard Jr. (Kathleen) Clark of Pine City, Paulette (Dennis) Thompson of Faribault, Kathy (Doug) Holm of Cambridge, Vickie (Ron) Hannan of Coon Rapids, Bradley (Julie) Clark of Isanti, 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren.

Marjorie Houchins
Marjorie J. Houchins, age 78, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on February 22, 2016 after a five year courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on the family farm home in Pike Creek Township in Morrison County July 16, 1937 to the late Elmer and Margaret (Leikvoll) Broberg. Being one of only two daughters, she learned to work hard on the farm, driving the tractor and helping her parents. She attended school in Little Falls and graduated in 1955. Her senior year of high school she actually moved to town to make it easier to attend. Even though she was only 17, she was always a very responsible person.

After graduation she moved to Minneapolis with girlfriends and worked for Montgomery Wards.

She didn’t really enjoy the city life and decided to move back to Little Falls where she worked for several years as a Northwestern Bell Telephone Operator. While out with friends dancing at the “Falls Ballroom” she met her future husband, Arlo Houchins, who also worked for Northwestern Bell. She and Arlo married in 1957 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls. Their first apartment was in St. Cloud and eventually moved back to Little Falls when they purchased their first home. Mom loved that house and was sad to move when Arlo was transferred to Cambridge in 1967. Marjorie’s growing family became the focus of her life. As the four older ones entered school, she babysat a few neighbor children. It kept Janice busy and gave them some extra grocery money. In later years, she enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren always spoiling them with ice cream and cookies. They brought her so much joy! She loved to take them for walks to the “little park”.

She also enjoyed sewing, dancing and playing cards with the family. She was a home body, so she faithfully listened to the church service on the radio every Sunday while preparing her famous Sunday roast beef meal.

She will be remembered for her strong and honest work ethic, her scrumptious meals, especially mashed potatoes and gravy, how she got up early every morning to make hot breakfasts, her famous cookies and her mouth-watering apple pies and her never-ending devotion to her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband Arlo; her parents Elmer and Margaret Broberg; father in law Lester Houchins, sister in law’s Ardis (Louis) Bolin and Genavieve Houchins.

Marjorie is survived by her children Gregory Houchins, Cheryl (Mark) Madison, Loren Houchins (Diane Olson), Bruce (Helen) Houchins and Janice (Ken) Lutterman; grandchildren Jessica (Ravi) Hanson, Jon Gravem, Nick Houchins (Kayla Tronson), Eric Houchins, Cara (Pat) Narog, Michelle (Josh) Thiess, Elizabeth (Erik) Johnson, Brittany Houchins and Hannah Houchins; great grandchildren Tyler and Mackenzie Gravem, Chase Hanson, Preston and Landon Houchins, Emma Hamm, William Narog, and Madelyn Thiess, sister Fern Post, sister in law Lois (Alvie) Norr and brother in law’s Kenneth (Alice) Houchins and Robert Houchins.

Kenneth Lindenfelser
Kenneth W. Lindenfelser, age 84, of Elk River, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 29, 2016.

Kenny farmed with his parents and brother Harold in Otsego, MN. He enjoyed an ice cold beer after a hard days’ work on the farm. Kenny loved to drive his International Tractor to all of his neighbor’s farms. He also loved going to the Princeton Sales Barn.

He is preceded in death by his parents Matt & Anna Lindenfelser; brothers Harold, twins: Everett and Francis; sisters Marion Johnson and Armella Heinz.

Kenny is survived by his loving sisters Evelyn Koenig and Louella Ford and by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

James Nordeen
James Roger Nordeen, 85, of Cambridge died at the Cambridge Medical Center on February 23, 2016 of pneumonia.

He was born on October 28, 1930 to Adolph and Myrtle (Soderbeck) Nordeen at home in Grass Lake Township. James was the eighth child in a family of ten children. He attended Clint Country School and graduated from Braham High School in 1948.

Before graduation he worked on the family farm and helped neighboring farmers. He worked for a short time after graduation at Donaldson’s Department Store in Minneapolis. Soon after he went to work at Land-O-Lakes Feed Mill until he entered military service in the Army.

Corporal Nordeen was with Headquarters Honor Guard 24th Infantry Division in Japan and Korea. After discharge he returned to Land O’Lakes.

On April 2, 1955 Jim and Carole (Lindgren) were married . They were blessed with two children Bonnie and Daniel. Jim had many health problems over the years. He had several jobs working and retiring from Land-O-Lakes after over 30 years. Jim and Carole lived most of their married years in NE Cambridge. He enjoyed visiting, gardening, yard work, watching television, and especially enjoyed just being outdoors.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jack (Willie), Kermit (Alice), Merle, Laurel “Chip” (May); sisters Evelyn (Marvin) Johnson, Marge (Berl) Hause, Phyllis (Matt) Lammi; brothers-in-law Gerald Stoeckel & Mike Johnson; sisters-in-law Anita Lindgren and Sharon Lindgren.

He is survived by wife Carole of 60 years; children Bonnie Lucas and Daniel; granddaughters Miranda and Molly; great granddaughters Astrid and Emoree; brother Duane of Illinois; sister Elaine Stoeckel of St. Anthony; sisters and brothers-in-law Roger and Mary Lindgren, JoAnn and David Nyholm, Peter Lindgren, Gerald Lindgren, Nancy and Wally Bennett, Ronald and Joan Lindgren and Patty Johnson; nieces, nephews, cousins; and friends.

Bernice Heckt
Bernice L Heckt, age 89 of Cambridge, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 15, 2015 at the Haven House of Cambridge.

She was born on August 13, 1925 in Rock County, Springwater Township, Minnesota to Emil & Lorraine Petersen.

She graduated from Garretson High School.

In 1944 Bernice married Wallace Heckt and farmed together for 16 years before moving to Cambridge, where they continued farming, until Wallace pursued a career in long-distance trucking.

Bernice’s true passions were gardening and her eight children. She had various jobs throughout her life, but becoming a nanny was her true calling. Being a member of a Lutheran church was very important to her throughout her life.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Wallace and infant daughter Beverly Kay; brothers Herbert, Carl and Lee.

She is survived by her children Shirley Christiansen of Des Moines, WA, Eugene (Susan) of Cambridge, Ronald (Jane) of Roundup, MT, Steven (Ronda) of Stanchfield, MN, Cheryl Samms of Auburn, WA, Keith (Vicky) of Covington, WA, Kevin (Mary Jo) of Tacoma, WA and Lori (David) Kelly of Santa Rosa, CA. Grandmother of 15, Great grandmother of 28 and Great-Great Grandmother of 4. Also survived by her brother Loren (Karen) Petersen of Omaha, NE and sister Lois (Harold) Kindt of Hardwick, MN.
