James Lueders
James Michael Lueders, 41, Evansville, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, in the home of his parents.
He was born Aug. 11, 1963, to James and Charlotte Lueders, their second child and firstborn son. His entrance into the world was especially notable in that he was delivered by his father, a medical student at the time, in the absence of the attending physician.
As a young child he had an infectious smile and a mischievous grin. He grew up on the family farm and loved being outdoors, spending time with his family, trips to Grandpa and Grandma's farm in Vining and farming along side his brother and dad.
He attended school in Evansville and graduated in 1981. That fall, at age 18, he was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor and was given only a few months to live. However, after experiencing the healing power of God, for the past 23 years, he lived a full life, cancer free.
He continued his education and graduated from Alex Tech in Farm Management (1984), Christ for the Nations (Dallas, Texas 1986), and Wadena Tech in Truck Driving (1989). He also traveled extensively throughout the country and world on numerous mission trips, living out his greatest passion in life: sharing the love of Jesus with others.
His incredible love for God and people was evident in his very giving heart. To the best of his ability, he helped anyone he saw in need. He also was an uncle who always took time for his many nieces and nephews. He was most recently employed at Cabinets by Carter in Alexandria.
In July his brain tumor unexpectedly returned. His positive outlook on life never faltered and he lived the remaining days of his life experiencing God's goodness in many ways. He most recently celebrated the Thanksgiving weekend with his parents, five siblings and their families.
He is survived by his parents, Dr. James H. Lueders, M.D., and Charlotte (Danielson) Lueders of Evansville; siblings: Cheryl Lueders (Stan) Balgaard and their children Andrew, Aaron, Anna and Katie) of Evansville, Dr. Jonathon Lueders (Diane) and their children Olivia, Jackson and Carson) of Newman Lake, Wash., Christine Lueders Bates (Rev.
