John David Hopp
John D. Hopp, 60, of Cloquet died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, in St. Mary's Hospital, Duluth.
He was born Oct. 10, 1940, in Faribault, Minn., to Emerich and Thelma (Clemens) Hopp. He worked at Conwed Corp. and USG Interiors for five years. John served in the Air Force and Minnesota National Guard Army. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam War. John was a very loving, kind man who loved to reminisce about his days in the Air Force. He will be sadly missed.

John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; sisters; and a stepson.

He is survived by his wife, Constance "Connie"; a daughter, Cindy Hopp of Duluth; stepdaughters Renee Salgy of Duluth and Vicki Ann Altringer of Cloquet; a brother, Bill (Marlene) of Marysville, Wash.; sisters Joan (John) Weirda of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Lorenda Helfers of Eau Claire, Wis.; five step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service: 3 p.m. March 10 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Cloquet, the Rev. Rollie Bockbrader officiating. Full military honors presented by Cloquet Honor Guard. Inurnment in Fort Snelling National cemetery, Minneapolis. Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Care, Cloquet.

Vera N. Lemieux
Vera N. Lemieux, 82, of Boy River, Minn., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, in Deer River Health Care Facility, Deer River.
Visitation: 1 until the 2 p.m. service Tuesday in Log Chapel, Boy River. Burial in Lakeview cemetery, Remer, Minn. Arrangements by Carroll Funeral Home, Deer River.
Duane "Dainy" G. Anderson
Duane "Dainy" G. Anderson, 63, of Cohasset died Thursday, March 1, 2001, in his home.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters Kimberly Allen and Kelly Feddema; a sister, Agnes "Aggie" Bickford; brothers David, Donny, Roger, Kenny and Frank Anderson; and five grandchildren.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Sunday in Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids. Service 11 a.m. Monday in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Cohasset. Burial in Wildwood cemetery, Cohasset.

Joseph A. Bradach Sr.
Joseph A. Bradach Sr., 97, of Aurora died Thursday, March 1, 2001, in White Community Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in Aurora.
He is survived by sons Joseph Jr. (Maria), James (Patricia) and Richard (Jackie); sisters Helen Zupancic, Alice (George) Wilson and Margaret Cina; a brother, Henry (Mabel); 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial Mass at a later date. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home, Aurora.

Stanley J. Chapman
Stanley J. Chapman, 78, of Meadowlands passed away Thursday, March 1, 2001, in his son's home.
He was born May 9, 1922, in Westbrook, Minn., to Carl and Louise (Midboe) Chapman. Stanley served in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He married Bernice Suiter in Meadowlands July 11, 1948. He was a farmer and continued to work on a limited basis to this day.

He was a member of Meadowlands United Methodist Church, Kral Matha VFW Post 3044 of Cotton/Meadowlands, Midway 6th Defense Battalion Association of the United States Marine Corps and Associated Milk Producers Inc.

Farming was a big part of Stanley's life, but he also enjoyed dancing, especially polka.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bernice, in 1994; and a sister, Margaret Larson.

Stanley is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth (Richard) Karasek, of Meadowlands; sons Richard (Colleen) Chapman of Canyon, Kenneth Chapman of Phoenix, Brian Chapman of Meadowlands and Duane Chapman of San Jose, Calif; sisters Dorothy Burishkin of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Kaye Chapman of Flint, Mich.; grandchildren Yvonne, Clint, Jessica, Jessica, Amanda, Jammi, Colby and Amelia; great-grandchildren Zachary, Morgan and Dylan; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Sunday and service noon Monday in Meadowlands United Methodist Church, Pastor Harry McKay-Jones officiating. Burial in Meadowlands cemetery. Arrangements by Johnson Mortuary.

Daniel Caine Buck
Daniel Caine Buck, infant, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, in Itasca Medical Center.
He is survived by his parents, Josh Richards and Tracy Buck; brothers J.J. Larson, Jessie Larson and Christian Richards; a sister, Brooke Larson; and grandparents Mark and Judy Hawkinson, Bruce Buck and Harold and Bernadine Winger.
Service: 1 p.m. Monday in Itasca Calvary cemetery. Arrangements by Libbey Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, (218) 326-4000.

Lorraine Shirley (Saari) Hokanson
Lorraine Shirley (Saari) Hokanson, 67, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, in Columbia, S.C., in peace and with the love of her family.
Born in Cromwell, she was a member of the Lakeland North Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Her wit, love, kindness and constant smile will always be in our hearts. We will see you soon.

Lorraine is survived by her husband of 47 years, Marlin, of the home; daughters Llyn Butler and Susan Hokanson of Lakeland, Fla., and Sherie Pineda of West Columbia; sons Terry Hokanson of Lakeland and Mark Hokanson of Tampa, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and brothers Howard (Dorothy) Saari of Esko and Robert (Jean) Saari of Cromwell.
Arrangements were by Palmetto Care Funeral Service of Greenville, S.C.

Robert W. Lapointe, 63, of Buhl died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, in his home.

Keith Michael Croatt
Keith Michael Croatt, 5 months, of Outing, Minn., died Monday, March 5, 2001, in Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, Crosby.
Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Friday with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service in Sorenson-Root-Thompson Funeral Home, Aitkin and 10 until the 11 a.m. mass Saturday in St. James Catholic Church, Aitkin. Father Roman Spor officiating. Burial in St. Thomas cemetery, Aitkin.

John David Dickovich
John David Dickovich, 95, of Keewatin died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, in Leisure Hills of Hibbing.
He is survived by a sister, Margaret (George) Vranesh; and many nieces and nephews, including Donna (Ted) Polacec and Tom (Linda) Dickovich.
Visitation: 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Keewatin. Interment in Maple Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.

William E. "Eddie" LaPlant
William E. "Eddie" LaPlant, 89, of Grand Rapids died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, in Itasca Medical Center, Grand Rapids.
He is survived by his wife, Ada; daughters Kay Bouchie, Kathleen Krogh and Joan Lease; a son, Glenn; three sisters; five brothers; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Friday in Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids. Service 2 p.m. Saturday in Grace Bible Chapel, Grand Rapids. Burial in Harris cemetery, Harris Township, Minn.

Dr. John Gibson "Gib"
McClelland
Dr. John Gibson "Gib" McClelland, 78, of Tower, formerly of Virginia, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, in his home.
He was born Nov. 22, 1922, in Cleveland to Dr. Joseph and Joan (Quinn) McClelland. He was a 1940 graduate of Cleveland Heights High School, attended Adelbert College, Western Reserve University and was a 1950 graduate of Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Gib married Jean Grace Nau Dec. 17, 1949, in the First Baptist Church of Shaker Heights, Ohio. He was an Army Infantry Artillery veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater and a member of the Phi Sigma Rho medical fraternity.

Gib was employed as a medical doctor in private practice in Painesville, Ohio from 1957 to 1966, in the East Range Clinic of Virginia from 1966 to 1987 and in the USX Minntac Dispensary from 1987 to 1997.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gib is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jean; daughters Joan Quinn McClelland of El Rito, N.M., Mary Beth (Jeff) Adams of Duluth and Carol Jean (Greg) Thomas of Idaho Falls, Idaho; sons Thomas Albert (Carin) McClelland of Northport, N.Y., Daniel Gibson (Irene) McClelland of El Cerrito, Calif., and Kevin Joseph (Theresa) McClelland of Ashland; grandchildren Annie, Laura, Joseph, Jesse and Keighry McClelland, Katie, Sarah and Parker Adams, and Matthew and Clara Thomas; a brother, Charles Q. (Lenore) of Cleveland; and a niece, Melissa (Leonard Mastri) McClelland of Cleveland.
Memorial service: 1:30 p.m. Saturday in United Methodist Church, Virginia. Pastor Kenneth Wellman officiating. Memorials are preferred and may be directed to East Range Hospice or to the donor's choice. Arrangements by Bauman-Cron, a Bauman Family Funeral Home, Virginia.

Irene E. Poola
Irene E. Poola, 79, of Gilbert died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, in Arrowhead Health Care Center, Eveleth.
She is survived by a son, Michael; daughters Karen (Gerald) Lesnau and Donna (Jerald) Murphy; grandchildren Scott and Michael Lesnau, and Carrie and Shannon Murphy; and a brother, Joseph (Marnie) Egger.
Visitation: 9 until the 10 a.m. service Friday in Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home, Gilbert. Burial in Gilbert cemetery.

Lola E. Wendell
Lola E. Wendell, 75, of Grand Rapids died Monday, March 5, 2001, in North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale, Minn.
She is survived by sons Gordon "Butch" Hannah Jr., and Larry Hannah; a daughter, Sandra Crosby; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Family services will be in the spring. Arrangements by Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids.

Isabelle J. Tyler
Isabelle J. Tyler, 91, of Grand Rapids died Sunday, March 4, 2001, in Leisure Hills Care Center, Grand Rapids.
She is survived by a sister and a niece.
Memorial service will be held in the spring. Arrangements by Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids.
