Molde, Raymond Joebert
Raymond Joebert Molde, 87, of St. Charles, Minn., died Thursday, January 17, 2002 at Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles.
Ray was born August 18, 1914 in Canisteo Township of Dodge County to
Chris and Gertie (Dale) Molde. He and Doris M. Nereson were married on April 9, 1938 in East St. Olaf Church.
Following their marriage they farmed in Canisteo Township. They then farmed in Rock Dell Township for 16 years, moved to Saratoga in 1957, farming there for five years. They then moved to rural Dover and Ray worked for Todd Elevator of St. Charles for 12 years, Home Produce in St. Charles for 8 years, and Hubbard Foods of Altura until 1989.
Ray was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles.
Survivors include his wife, Doris; five sons, Charles (Pat) Molde of Byron, James (Barbara) Molde of Hastings, Arlan (Kathy) Molde of Elk River, Terry (Jane) Molde and Monte Molde, both of Menomonie, Wis.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Alice (Perry) Lee of Hayfield, Thelma (Clarence) Rud of Stewartville, and Lucille (Larry) Koperski of Dodge Center.
A son, Gene Harlan, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, January 21 at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles with Rev. Ramie Bakken officiating. Burial will follow in Saratoga Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Hoff Funeral Home's - St. Charles Chapel. They may also call one hour before services Monday at the church.

Honsey, Harvey E.
Harvey E. Honsey, 86, of 1222 West Fifth St., died Monday, January 14, 2002 at Lake Winona Manor.
Funeral services were Thursday, January 17 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lanesboro, Minn. Burial was in Lanesboro Cemetery.
Johns, Alma Olive
Alma Olive Johns, 83, of St. Anne Hospice, died Thursday, January 17, 2002 at the hospice.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 21, at 2 p.m. at Rushford Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Rushford.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home and at the church on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until time of the service.

Howe, Lillian E.
Lillian E. Howe, 79, of 475 West Belleview St., died Wednesday, January 16, 2002 in the Intensive Care Unit of Community Memorial Hospital.
Lillian was born February 3, 1922, in Yucatan Township, Houston County, to John and Gina Glenna Paulson. She married Roy J. Howe on May 4, 1940 at Highland Prairie Lutheran Church.
Lillian is a member of Central Lutheran Church and the BPOE No. 327.
She worked for Winona Monument Co. and retired from J.C. Penney in 1984.
Lillian is survived by a son, James (Monique) Howe of LaCrescent, Minn; a daughter, Gloria (Romaine) Ashelin of Winona; five grandchildren, James (Wendy) Ashelin, Susan (Bill) Bronk, Eric (Jill) Howe, Brian Howe and Melissa Howe; six great-grandchildren, Jordan Ashelin, Aaron Bronk, Zachary Bronk, Mara Fenske, Miranda Howe and Adrienne Howe; and special friend, Carl Miller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Joseph and Maurice Paulson, sisters, Doris Paulson and Myrtle Gravos, and granddaughter, Tracey Howe.
Funeral services were Saturday, January 19, at Central Lutheran Church with Rev. Duane O. Salness officiating. Burial was in Highland Prairie Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Central Lutheran Church.

Knapik, Donald Michael
Donald M. Knapik, 81, of Las Vegas and until recently a life long resident of Winona died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002.
He was born September 22, 1920, in Winona to Michael & Lydia (Brom) Knapik. Don was a graduate of Cotter High School. He married Ethel Troska in 1942. He served as a Sgt. in the Army from August 1942 to October 1945 and served in the European theater in the Tank Destroyer Battalion for 26 months. Most of Don's career was spent at the Winona Boxcraft Company but the last 10 years were at the U.B.C. main office. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Redmen's Club, and The Winona Athletic Club. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tending to his vegetable garden.
Don is survived by his wife, Ethel, of Las Vegas; three children, Judy (Doug) Stevens of Las Vegas, Tom Knapik of Tujunja, CA, and Rick Knapik of Stoneham, MA; two granddaughters, Lisa (Glenn) Walker of Fallbrook, CA and Charla Knapik of Tujunga, CA.
Preceding Don in death were his sisters, Helen Cada and Bernice Eichman.
A Mass will be held in the spring at St. John's in Winona with burial at Ft. Snelling.
Sonsalla, Ignatius L.
Ignatius "Iggy" Sonsalla, 84, of Arcadia, WI, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2002 at the Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Nursing Home in Arcadia.
He was born on February 1, 1917 in Arcadia, WI to John and Pauline (Sobotta) Sonsalla. Iggy attended schools in Arcadia and college in Galesville, WI. In 1935, he joined the M.P. Co. National Guard, going into service in 1940. He served 2 years in London and 2 years in Paris, where he was Chief Clerk of the Criminal Investigation Division. After his discharge in 1946 as a Lieutenant, Iggy's commanding officer presented him with the British Emperor Meritorious Medal of Honor at a reception in St. Paul, MN.
On May 10, 1948, Iggy married Patronella "Pat" Palkowski Fernholz.
Together they owned and operated the Arcadia Hotel and Tap, better known as the Packer Backer Headquarters, for 37 years. Iggy, being a great sports fan, sponsored bus trips to Green Bay where his favorite team played. He also owned and managed baseball teams in Arcadia. He was very community oriented and did all he could to promote the community and to help others.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
During his 60 years in the American Legion, he served in various offices, most recently and for many years as Membership Chairman. The American Legion purchased a bench and plaque at Memorial Park in Arcadia to honor Iggy and Pat for all of the time and service they have given to the Veterans. Iggy was also a member of Woodmen of the World and served as Custodian of hospital equipment. Having started caddying very early in life, Iggy became an avid golfer. He served as a Board Member of the Arcadia Country Club, enjoyed golfing most of his life, and achieved several hole in ones. Iggy also loved being with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pat Sonsalla of Arcadia; 2 daughters: Charlotte (Wallace) Sobotta of La Crosse, WI and Mary (Donald) Wicka of Buffalo City, WI; 4 grandchildren: Tamara Sobotta of La Crosse, Jason (Crystal) Sobotta of Galesville, Tina Wicka of Rochester, MN and Jeni Wicka of Menomonie, WI; 1 great-grandson: Trey Joseph Beck of Holmen, WI; 2 sisters: Sevie (Peter) Slaby and Martha Lisowski, both of Arcadia; 1 brother: Stanley (Florence) Sonsalla of Arcadia; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceding Iggy in death were his parents; 1 son: John Patrick; and 3 sisters: Evelyn Sonsalla, Florence Galuska and Eleanor Shedesky.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at the Holy Family Parish/Upper Unit (formerly, St. Stan's) in Arcadia, with Father Robert Polcyn officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.
Serving as casket bearers were Jason Sobotta, Tamara Sobotta, Tina Wicka, Jeni Wicka, Wallace Sobotta, and Donald Wicka.
Iggy's family respectfully asks that memorials be directed to "Family Wishes".
Donahoe, Dr. Ned
Dr. Ned Donahoe, 85, St. Charles, MN, died Monday, March 6, 2000 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN.
Ned was born on August 20, 1914 to Matthew and Zola (Miller) Donahoe in Wilmington, IL. He was raised in Jacksonville, IL. Ned earned his BA degree in 1936 from Illinois College. He was married to Esther March in 1940.
Ned was a radio announcer in Rock Island, IL in the early 1940's. In 1946 he earned his MA degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He and his wife were active in the civil rights movement in Memphis, TN, working with voting rights and desegregation. In 1952 he earned his PhD from the University of Illinois (Urbana) in drama and speech. He received professional training at Goodman Theatre - Chicago Art Institute, Uta Hagen Studio - NYC, Helen Brown Ried - Chicago and Sage Fuller-Flores, Madison, WI. He either taught or directed theatre at the following schools: University of Wisconsin-Madison, Purdue, IL College, Moline College in Memphis, TN, Bennington, Vermont, San Francisco State and Grinnell College in Iowa.
Esther died in October of 1985. Ned then moved to Minnesota to be with his family. There he led reading interaction groups at Madonna Towers and Charter House, both in Rochester and Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles. Along with his son, the Rev. Scott Donahoe, he directed 1 - 3 act plays at the Blue Moon Coffee House and Gladiola Days in St. Charles. His son died May 28, 1998.
He is survived by a daughter, Nan Donahue (Roy Rameriz) of Houston, TX; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Donahoe of St. Charles; three grandchildren, Patrick, Rachel and Elijah; and a great-granddaughter, Megan Testerman.
He was preceded in death by his wife and son.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 17, at Hoff Funeral Homes - St. Charles Chapel with Rev. Jeff Forbes officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Korb, Mildred B.
Mildred B. Korb, 95, of St. Michael Lutheran Home, Fountain City, WI, died Monday, March 13, 2000 at the home.
She was born in the Town of Belvidere, Buffalo County, WI, on July 4, 1904 to William and Louisa (Knopse) Boettcher. Mildred married Irvin W. Korb on October 25, 1924 in Winona. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1961.
She was a housewife and member of Christ Ev. Lutheran Church, Cochrane, WI.
Mildred is survived by sons, Larry (Shirley) Korb of Fountain City, Leland (Jo) Korb of Mondovi, WI, Irvin Korb, Jr. and friend Jimmye Ewing of Bellevue, NE, LaVern (Ruth) Korb, Bangor, WI, and Donald (Carol) Korb, Richfield, MN; daughters, Betty (Robert) Miller of Alma, WI and Beverly Johnson, Minnetonka, MN; twenty grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Walter Boettcher, and a great-granddaughter, Mallory Korb
Funeral services will be Friday, March 17 at 2 p.m. at Christ Ev. Lutheran Church in Cochrane, WI, with Rev. Reed Degener officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo City Public Cemetery, Buffalo City, WI, .
Friends may call at the Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home in Fountain City on Thursday from 4-7 p.m., then on Friday at the church from 1-2 p.m.
Casketbearers will be grandsons, David, James, Jeff and Randy Korb.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Michael Lutheran Home, Fountain City, WI.
