Hungerholt, Lorraine A.
Lorraine A. Hungerholt, age 75, Rushford, MN, died Saturday, February 12, 2000 at Gundersen Lutheran Healthcare Center, LaCrosse, WI.
She was born June 10, 1924 to Thomas and Caroline (Bartelson) Moran in Fremont Township. She married Merlin Hungerholt on March 22, 1947 at the Rushford Lutheran Parsonage.
Lorraine worked for Fiberite in Winona for several years. They then owned and operated the Frosty Faucet Root Beer Stand in Rushford. After they sold the root beer stand she spent time babysitting for many children, especially Jodi and Steph Darr. Merlin died February 10, 1999.
Lorraine was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She greatly enjoyed quilting and spending time with her great grandkids and grandkids.
She is survived by three sons, Dick (Lolly) of Rushford, Maynard (Susie) of Sunnyvale, CA, and William of Rushford; six grandchildren: Shannon, Melissa, Aaron, Andrew, Kristianne and Kourtney; four great-grandchildren: Candace, Kali, Clay and Cole; and a brother, Kenneth Moran of Rushford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, eight brothers, Victor, Archie, Francis, Elmer, Marvin, Clair, Orrin and Ervin, and a sister, Alice.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 16 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Rushford with Rev. William Mueller officiating. Burial will follow at Hungerholt Cemetery, Peterson, MN.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.

Salyards, Hazel A.
Hazel A. Salyards, 82, Littleton, CO, died Monday, January 31, 2000 after a brief illness.
She was born August 28, 1917 to Howard and Ethel Myers.
She is survived by her sons, Donald (Deborah) Salyards of Winona, David (Lorri) Salyards of Littleton, CO; four grandchildren, Tad, Tara, Shaun and Quinn; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Saturday, February 5 in Littleton, CO.
Memorials may be directed to the Winona Rotary Service Fund.
Lee, Allen W.
Allen W. Lee, 65, LaCrosse, WI, died Friday, February 11, 2000 at Bethany-St. Joseph Care Center in LaCrosse.
He was born December 4, 1934 to Thory and Esther (Tessmer) Lee in Crystal Valley. He attended school in Houston, MN and graduated in 1954. Allen worked for Loerch Implement and Holty Feed Mill in Houston. In the early 1960's he moved to Milwaukee and worked at Downing Box and drove taxi. In 1990 he moved into the Care Center in LaCrosse where he has resided since. He loved to watch and play sports and to fish on the Mississippi River.
He is survived by three sons, Doug (Colleen) Olson of Pleasanton, CA, Dan (Lisa) Lee of Austin, and Greg Lee of LaCrosse; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Rose) Lee, Money Creek, MN; a niece, Ruth (Henry) Kleist, Rushford, MN; a nephew, Rollie Lee of Winona; a great-niece, Angie Lee; two great-nephews, Patrick and James Kleits; and special friends, Mary Ann Rosenberg and Todd and Jessica Mohr, all of Milwaukee.
Funeral services were Monday, February 14 at Money Creek Methodist Church with Rev.Lora Sturm officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie and Frank Burfield, Charlie Lind and Hollis Hebener.

Luce, Eydith
Eydith Luce, 56, of 165 East Fourth St., died Sunday, February 13, 2000.
Eydith Ann Luce was born May 13, 1943 in LaCrosse, WI. She is survived by three sons. There are no public services planned at this time.

Kirschmann, Edwin
Edwin Kirschmann was born on July 15, 1929 at his parents farm home, rural Regent, ND. His parents were Jacob and Lydia (Schauer) Kirschmann. He was raised in the Regent-Mott area and attended a rural school near the Kirschmann farm. He began farming at an early age with his family, later farming north of Burt, ND and at the Beisigl Ranch south of Bentley with his brother John D. He was married to Beverly Shupe in 1950 at Missoula, MT. and to this union seven children were born. In 1960 the family moved to Rockford, IL, where he worked in a factory, later starting his own business of remodeling, painting, carpentry and property management. He moved to Black Duck, MN in 1974, returning to Rockford in 1979. He was married to Nancy E. Gray on December 20, 1980 at Rockford. He continued to operate his business there until retiring to Eagar, AZ in 1993. They moved to Mott, ND in August of 1997 to be near his cousins and friends in his hometown area.
Edwin loved to garden, raise flowers, and help in the work and ministry of his church. He was a member and trustee of Zoar Congregational Church in Mott and helped build Assemblies of God in New England, ND, Mott, ND and Missoula, MT.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy of Mott; five sons, Gregory (Sandy) Kirschmann of Kona, Hawaii, Jeffrey (Patty) Kirschmann of Roscoe, IL, Michael (Mary Kay) Kirschmann of Winona, Randall (Ruth) Kirschmann, Windom, MN, and Matthew Kirschmann, Rockford, IL; two daughters, Suzanne (Kevin) Flosi of Cherry Valley, IL and Janelle (John) Brandon of Byron, IL; a step-son, Garwood Gray of Lincoln, NE; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five brothers, Jacob (Dorothy) Kirschmann III, Fred C. (Doris) Kirschmann, Bernard (Anita) Kirschmann, all of Bismarck, ND, Paul Kirschmann, LaSeluna Beach, CA, and Ted (Diane) Kirschmann, Missoula, MT; eleven sisters, Pauline (Harry) Zielke of British Columbia, Canada, Lydia (Les) Tabish, Missoula, MT, Emma (John) Wilkinson, Bertha (Ed) Olson and Esther Schroeder all of Great Falls, MT, Eva (Ervin) Eder, Sun City West, AZ, Caroline (Ray) Keller, Big Fork, MT, Ruth Ginzinger, Contonment, FL, Maria Hendricks, LaSeluna Beach, CA, Clara Ruff, Salt Lake City, UT, and Rosella (Clyde) Morrison, Yakima, WA; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John D. and Christ.
Conaughty, Loraine M.
Loraine M. Conaughty died Wednesday, January 19, 2000 at the Vintage Faire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She had lived in the Newporter Condominiums for the past 27-years and is a long time member of Modesto Covenant Church. Loraine was a lover of Modesto, CA, having lived here for 45 years, a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ, a loyal member of her church, a mentor and counselor of numerous people, and a faithful friend of many. She was 82-years-old when she passed away.
Loraine was born in Utica, MN, on April 26, 1917. She was raised in the Winona area. She graduated from Winona Senior High School, 18th out of a class of 230. After graduation she was employed as the secretary to the high school's principal. She later worked as a secretary in the Registrar's Office at Winona State College.
At nearly 38 years of age and with 19 years of secretarial experience, Loraine decided a major change was in her best interests, and she moved to Modesto, CA, where she worked until retirement (25 years in all) as the secretary to the Deputy City Manager.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Conaughty, and her mother, Gertrude Baab Conaughty, both of the Winona area, and her brother L.J. (Johnny) Conaughty of Winona and later Minnetonka, MN, a niece, Candace Kiskatalo of Wayzata, MN, and two cousins, Mardelle Becker of Utica and Jerome Midler, Rochester, MN.

Schell, Anthony "Schell"
Anthony "Tony" Schell, 80, of Stockton, MN, died Tuesday, February 15, 2000 at Sauer Memorial Home.
Tony was born December 12, 1919 on Rollingstone Ridge to Peter and Agnus (Decker Daniel) Schell. He married Violet Mueller on September 8, 1941 in Rushford, MN. After a short stay there the couple moved to Stockton where they built their home and raised 12 children.
Tony was a Constable in Stockton in the 1950's. He worked at Daniel's Garage with his brothers and later worked at Lake Center Industries. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Minnesota City, MN.
Tony is survived by Violet, his wife of 58 years. He is also survived by six sons: Edward (Rhonda) of Winona, Arnold (Mary) of Stockton, Charles of Stockton, John (Bonny) of Stockton, Ronald (Terry) of Lewiston, and Mike (Roberta Hornberg) of Winona; four daughters, Mary (George) Griffin, Lewiston, MN, Rose (Steve) Krueger, Hoyt Lakes, MN, Donna (Ken) Srock, Stockton, and Kathy (John) Griffin, Lewiston; a sister, Evelyn Verdick, Minnesota City, MN; twenty-nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and three step--great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two half-sons, Donald and Richard, a brother, Ben, two half-brothers, Vincent and Neil, and a half-sister, Johanna.
There will be a Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. Friday, February 18, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Minnesota City with Rev. Edward Cunningham, OMI officiating. Spring burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Stockton, MN.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Burke Winona Chapel, and one hour before services at the church on Friday. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
May he now be healed by God's hand, and find peace in heaven as he is reunited with the loved ones whom have taken the journey before him.
Tony's sons will serve as pallbearers.

Falkowski, Edward W.
Edward W. Falkowski, 73, of 911 East Wabasha St., died Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, LaCrosse, Wis.
He was born September 23, 1928 in Winona to William and Mary (Cyert) Falkowski. He married Delores M. Palbicki on May 20, 1950 in Winona.
Ed was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish.
Ed will be fondly remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His favorite pastimes included fishing the backwaters of the Mississippi River and family vacations up north where he enjoyed listening to the family Big Pine Band perform his favorite songs by Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. The guidance he gave to his children in their many endeavors throughout life will be long remembered.
Ed protected Winona for 27 years as a firefighter. He was also employed on the Watkins Experimental Research Farm. After retirement he spent 17 years at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary and the Winona Diocesan Pastoral Center as a maintenance man.
He is survived by his wife, Delores of Winona; three children, Mike (Christina) Falkowski and Mary (Fred) Becker both of Winona, and Kari (Mark) Constant of Champlin, Minn.; seven grandchildren: Scott and Brian Becker, Cindy (Jay) Ostrem, Billy (Gayle) Falkowski, Kate (Tory) Schulz, and Holly and Casey Constant; two great-grandchildren, Isabelle Ostrem and Matthew Falkowski; and a sister, Anna T. Bokota of St. Anne of Winona.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Mass was offered Saturday, April 13, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Russell G. Scepaniak officiating.

Hackelberg, Frances M.
Frances M. Hackelberg, 59, of Whitehall, Wis., died Tuesday, April 9, 2002 at the Onalaska Care Center in Onalaska, Wis.
Funeral services were Friday, April 12 at the Wozney Funeral Home Chapel in Arcadia, Wis., with Rev. LaMoine Jacobs officiating. Burial was in Tamarack Lutheran Cemetery, rural Arcadia.
Erion, Frederick"Fred" Richard
Frederick "Fred" Richard Erion, 95, of Utica, Minn., died Thursday, April 11, 2002 at Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles, Minn.
Fred was born July 2, 1906 in Wyattville, Minn., to Fred and Anna (Sackreiter) Erion. At the age of two his family moved to Utica to farm. He and Lucille Storm were married September 16, 1932 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Lewiston, Minn.
They farmed in Utica Township until retiring in 1971 and moving to Utica. They lived in Utica for 12 years before returning to live on the farm. Fred also sold seed corn for Jacques Seed. Lucille died June 29, 1993. He lived at the Speltz Home for Elderly Care in Lewiston for a time before moving to Whitewater Healthcare Center in 1999.
Fred was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, where he served as an Elder and belonged to its Men's Club. He enjoyed visiting with relatives and friends and liked to play cards with the senior citizens. Fred will be remembered for his cheerful outlook on life.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis Erion of Utica and Daryl (Sandi) Erion of Eyota, Minn.; four granddaughters; one grandson; and three great-grandsons.
In addition to his wife, Lucille, a son, Frederick Thompson, a granddaughter and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 15 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Lewiston with Revs. David A. Fischer and Michael A. Lindemann officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at Hoff Funeral Home's - Lewiston Chapel and also one hour before services Monday at the church.
