Anderson, Gynther
Gynther Anderson, 80, of North Hollywood, CA, died Thursday, January 6, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank, CA, after a lingering illness for the past year.
He was born on April 13, 1919 in Rushford Village of Fillmore County, MN, to Samuel and Julia (Sauro) Anderson.
He was baptized and confirmed at Rushford Lutheran Church. He graduated from Rushford High School in 1939. After high school he worked at Holger Feed Mill in Rushford. He entered the U.S. Army in 1941 and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
He married Geraldine Butler on November 5, 1944, at Central Lutheran Church in Van Nuys, CA.
He worked for Lockheed Aircraft for 31 years in California.
Survivors include his wife, Gerry; one daughter, Pamela (Wilford) LaPointe of Redding, CA; three granddaughters; two great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; a brother, Archie (Helen) Anderson of Minneapolis, MN; and two sisters, Janet Kinneberg and Mildred Buross, both of Rushford.
A memorial service was held Sunday, January 9 at Central Lutheran Church in Van Nuys, CA.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 13 at Rushford Lutheran Church with Rev. Roger Knudson officiating. Burial will be in Rushford Lutheran Cemetery with military honors by the Rushford American Legion. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.

Culhane, John R.
John R. Culhane, 67, Rushford, MN, died Saturday, January 8, 2000 at Valley View Nursing Home in Houston, MN.
John was born November 28, 1932 in Albert Lea, MN, the son of Daniel and Rose (Sheehan) Culhane. He married Barbara Nuszloch on May 9, 1958 in Lewiston, MN.
He graduated from Rushford High School in 1950 and attended St. John's University in Collegeville, MN.
John served in the U.S. Air Force for 12 years.
He was employed by Merchants National Bank in Winona where he worked as a data processor for 20 years.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the American Legion in Rushford.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two sons, Steve (Karen) Culhane of Rushford and Bob (Linda) Culhane of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Sue (Doug) McIntosh of Waseca, MN; five grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel (Mary) Culhane of Minneapolis, MN and Tom (Jean) Culhane of Rushford; and a sister, RoseMarie (Ed) Bott of Las Vegas, NV.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Ann Culhane.
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rushford with Rev. William Kulas officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Drussell, Eugene W.
Eugene W. Drussell, 75, of Rt. 2, Winona, died Monday, January 10, 2000 at Winona Community Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 9, 1924 in Winona to Walter and Helen K. (Kouba) Drussell. He married Betty Jane Thompson on October 30, 1965 in Winona.
He was in partnership with his brother, Earl, and son, Dave, in the Drussell Well Drilling business.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of Winona; a son, Dave (LeeAnn) Drussell of Winona; step-children, Wayne (Sue) Hornberg, Winona, Debra Hornberg, Plano, TX, Renee (Steve) Larsen of Winona, and Diane (Don) Eide, Peterson, MN; one grandchild; two step-great-granddaughters; seven step-grandchildren; a brother, Earl (Marian) Drussell of Winona; and a sister, Dolores (Gene) Ziebell, Rushford, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Watkowski-Pronschinske Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert G. Meyer of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery where the Veterans of Foreign Wars Neville-Lien Post #1287 will provide military honors.
Pallbearers will be Dave Drussell, Earl Drussell, Don Eide, Shawn Hornberg, Mike Corcoran and Barry Nelson.

Woodward, William Carl "Bill"
William Carl "Bill" Woodward, 86, of St. Charles, Minn., and formerly of Eyota, Minn., died Thursday, September 28, 2000 at Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles.
Bill was born October 1, 1913 in Viola Township of Olmsted County to Ray and Caroline (Dobrinz) Woodward. He married Avelda Bliesmer on August 26, 1940. She died November 2, 1946. On November 8, 1947 he and Helen Schumann were married at St. Paul's United Church of Christ near Eyota.
Bill grew up in the Elgin and Plainview, Minn. area. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1931. In the 1930s he worked in the agriculture industry. Beginning in 1940 he worked in the retail grocery business for Red Owl as a field representative. In 1949 Bill and Helen began farming near Eyota. From 1959-1979 the couple farmed near Dover, Minn. They retired to Eyota in 1979. He moved to St. Charles in 1999 and to Whitewater Healthcare Center this spring. His wife, Helen died in 1996.
Bill was a 50-year member of the Stewartville Masonic Lodge #203, a 50-year member and past Worthy Patron of the Aurora and Sunshine Chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star of Eyota and St. Charles. He also belonged to the White Shrine, Farm Bureau, was a 4-H club leader, a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Eyota, and had served on the Church Council. He was also a farm seed salesman.
Survivors include five sons, Everett (Jan) Woodward of Eyota; Charles Woodward of LaCrosse, Wis., William Alan (Jill) Woodward of Rochester, Dale (Mary) Woodward of Eyota, and Philip (Cheryl) Woodward of Pine Island; eleven grandchildren; two step-grandsons; a brother, Harold Woodward of Rochester; and a sister, Frances Grant of LaCrescent, Minn.
In addition to his wives, Velda and Helen, one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, October 2 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Eyota with Rev. Glen Holland officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Dover. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Hoff Funeral Home's - St. Charles Chapel. Friends may also call one hour before services at the church. There will be a Masonic Service Sunday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Douglas, Dale W.
Dale W. Douglas, 60, Altura, Minn., died Thursday, September 28, 2000 in Wabasha, Minn.
Dale was born March 31, 1940 in Boyd, Wis., to Orval and Myrtle (Huskelhus) Douglas. He served in the Marines in 1959. Dale and Carol Riphenburg were married April 9, 1960 in Osseo, Wis. They lived in Fountain City before moving to Bethany where he farmed for 30 years. He has been disabled for health reasons since farming.
Dale enjoyed woodcraft, camping, and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; two daughters, Bev (Tom) Ammann of Winona, and Sandy (Bob) Stevens of Rochester; four sons, Jeff Douglas of Rochester; Mike (Laura) Douglas of Harmony, Dale (Joanna) Douglas of Altura, and Dan Douglas of Winona; thirteen grandchildren: Aimee, Amber, Sarah, Ryan, Ashley, Aenna, Christina, Lucas, Danielle, Carla, Matt, Nicholas, and Margaret; a great-grandson, Tyler; and two sisters, Doris Condon of Janesville, Wis. and Norma King of Eau Claire, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gordon.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, October 2 at Hoff Funeral Home's - Lewiston Chapel with Chaplain Kathy Redig officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Moravian Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday and one hour before services Monday at the funeral home.

Berg, Ardis M.
Ardis Berg, 88, New Richland, Minn., and formerly of Hartland, Minn., died Monday, September 25, 2000 at the New Richland Care Center.
Funeral services were Wednesday, September 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland, with Rev. Paul Andree officiating. Burial was in St. Olaf Cemetery.
