Lindstrom, Ray B.
Ray B. Lindstrom, 74, 1854 West 4th St., died Saturday, January 8, 2000 at Community Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 14, 1925 in Hampton, IA to Raymond and Marion (Sorenson) Lindstrom. On June 27, 1948 he married Doreen Christensen in Winona.
Ray was a member of the Community Bible Church where at one time he and his wife taught Sunday School together.
He was an Auto Body Repair Instructor at Winona Technical College for 17 years, and spent his retirement assisting his son-in-law in landscaping projects. Prior to this, he was employed by C. Paul Venables as an Auto Body Repairman for 12 years.
Ray enjoyed spending time with his family and restoring vehicles. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and spent 17 years teaching hunter safety training.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Doreen; four children, Michael (Karen) Lindstrom, Coon Rapids, MN, David (Jill) Lindstrom, Prior Lake, MN, Bonnie (James) Kiese of Winona, and Vickie (Dana) Blong, Winona; six grandsons, Ben, Jim (Tammy), Eric, Tanner, Charlie and Brogan; five granddaughters, Jessica, Michell, Melissa, Natasha and Jennifer; one great-granddaughter, Destiny; and a brother, Wesley (Dorothy) Lindstrom of Westbrook, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, and a brother, Alvin Lindstrom.
Funeral services were Tuesday, January 11 at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Howe of Community Bible Church officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Dana Blong, James Kiese, James Kronebusch, and Ben, David and Michael Lindstrom.
A memorial is being arranged.

Williams, Earl J.
Earl J. Williams, 91, St. Anne Hospice, died Saturday, January 8, 2000 at the hospice.
He was born in Minneapolis, MN on March 12, 1908, the son of John V. and Leah M. (Tourville) Williams.
He worked as a buyer for Broadway Department Stores of California for many years, coming to Winona in September 1989.
He is a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.
Earl loved to play bridge and belonged to several bridge clubs in Winona. He was a very social gentleman who enjoyed traveling and traveled extensively in Europe.
Earl is survived by a sister, Audrey Morgan of Winona; and nieces and nephews, John (Lynne) Grams, Bellevue, WA, Diane (Richard) Walters, Detroit, MI; Cherre (David) Pye of Winona, Lisa Grams, Denver, CO, William (Nancy) Daws, Northridge, CA, and John (Ginny) Daws, Orinda, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Howard H., and a sister, Eleanor Daws.
Funeral services were Tuesday, January 11 at St. Anne Hospice. Burial was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
Memorials may be given to St. Anne Hospice.

Anderson, Winifred A.
Winifred A. Anderson, 90, of the Lamberton Residence, died Wednesday, January 5, 2000 at Community Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were Saturday, January 8 at Oak Grove Lutheran Church in Richfield, MN. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park, St. Anthony, MN.
A memorial service was held Monday, January 10 at the Lamberton Residence with Rev. Wade E. Davick of Central Lutheran Church officiating.
Gulbrandsen, Ruth
Ruth Gulbrandsen of 868 West Mark St., was born on March 17, 1911 in Superior, WI, to Louis and Karen (Petersen)Larsen. She married Gulbrand (Bill) Gulbrandsen on August 18, 1945 in Superior, after which she moved to Winona. He died in 1985.
In Superior she did secretarial and bookkeeping work for various firms for 14 years. Before leaving Superior she was employed as an accountant for the Housing Authority of the City of Superior for about three years.
In Winona, before retiring, she was a secretary for the City Engineer and three City Inspectors for 11-1/2 years.
She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Ev. Free Church. Ruth loved the Lord and had always been active in church work, both in Winona and Superior. She loved music, playing the piano, mandolin and singing. Ruth was a charter member of the Sons of Norway.
She is survived by a daughter, Joyce R. Gulbrandsen of Winona; step-grandsons, Richard and Robert Gulbrandsen; and two sisters, Hilda Wolfram of Wright, MN and Ingeborg Dickman, Superior, WI.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Paul, a step-son, George, and four sisters.
Ruth was a devoted wife, mother and friend.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 12 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Rick Iglesias officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be James Bronner, David Reed, Gary Roddell, Phil Gaddis, James Martens and Al Jarvinen.
A memorial is being arranged.

Beckman, Arnold "Arnie"
Arnold "Arnie" Beckman, 70, Stockton, MN, died Sunday, January 9, 2000 at Community Memorial Hospital.
Arnie was born June 25, 1929 in Hettinger, ND to August and Rose (Berger) Beckman.
Arnie served in the Army in the Korean War. On October 20, 1951 he and Dolores Keller were married in Winona. They farmed in North Dakota until moving to Montgomery, IL where he worked at Allsteel, Inc. as an inspector. In 1985 the couple moved to Stockton.
Arnie enjoyed gardening, fishing and woodwork.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7452 in Montgomery and was a member of the Stockton Promotional Group.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores; six children, Keith Beckman of Stockton; Gary Beckman of Plano, IL, Melanie (Rodney) Bond of Henderson, KY, Wayne (Pat) Beckman of Winona, Wendy (Chuck) Angela of Princeton, IL, and Tammie Beckman of Maplewood; seventeen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Edna Brown of Ephrata, WA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Hoff Funeral Homes-Lewiston Chapel with Chaplain Kathy Redig officiating. Spring burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Stockton.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before services at the funeral home.
Winona Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1287 will be conducting military honors following services at the funeral home.
