Irene Rose Bouska
Irene R. Bouska, age 88, of Annandale, passed away peacefully at her son’s home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 28, 2010.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2010 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale. Fr. Victor Valencia will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, Monday at the church.
Irene Rose Bouska was born August 9, 1921 in Holdingford to Peter and Regina (Young) Thielman. She married Charles Bouska on August 16, 1941 in Chicago, IL and he preceded her in death on June 22, 1992. In her younger years, Irene enjoyed fishing, dancing and traveling. She loved flowers, had a green thumb and enjoyed doing crafts. Irene’s love was her family; she especially enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children, Linda Sanderson of Live Oak, FL, Brad (Sharon) of Annandale and Jacalyn (Michael) Vales of The Villages, FL; sister, Laura Bixby of Pine City; nine grandchildren, Teresa (Jeff) Zuehl, Shannon (Jake) Piram, Justin (Deonna) Bouska, Heather (Craig) Moseley, Tanya (Pat) Doble, Jacob Nelson, Lucas (Frannie) Vales, Laura Wylie and Alicia Anderson; eight great grandchildren, Braden, Seaver, Geonette, Tyler, Connor, Shawn, Samantha and baby boy Piram. She is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Regina; husband, Charles; son, Charles, Jr.; grandson, Kurt; sisters, Ester Thielman, Gladys Optholt, Hy Pollard-Blake and Bobbie Lentz; and brother, Ralph Thielman.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Nelson, Justin Bouska, Lucas Vales, Patrick Doble, Craig Moseley, Jeff Zuehl and Jake Piram. The St. Ignatius Guitar Group will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
Steven Louis Keske
Steven L. Keske, age 60, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at his home in Annandale from cancer.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fairhaven. Pastor Timothy Nerud will officiate and burial will be in Concordia Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale or one hour prior to the service, Tuesday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Steven Louis Keske was born July 3, 1949 in Minneapolis to Orville and Irene (Korsten) Keske. He graduated from Robbinsdale High School with the class of 1967. Steve lived in Cambridge for 25 years, before moving to Annandale in 2007. He worked as an operating engineer for Unity Hospital for 31 years. Steve enjoyed fishing, watching Minnesota Twins and NASCAR, target shooting and crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his fiancé, Brenda Speckel of Annandale; children, Tracy Skonseng of St. Cloud, Jason (Brandy) Skonseng of Andover, Cheryl of Isanti and Steven, Jr. (Judy) of Cambridge; mother, Irene of Robbinsdale; brother, Tom, Sr. (Joyce) of Minong, WI; sister, Gloria (Richard) Gillette of Houlton, WI; grandchildren, Tyler and Desirae; nephew, Tom, Jr. (Barbara); and great niece, Danielle. He is preceded in death by his father, Orville.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Bruggenthies, Ron Ness, Bob Engelbretson, Nick Fylling, Tom Keske, Jr. and Paul Berg. Ruth Fry will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
Lisa Ann Laabs
Lisa A. Laabs, age 42 of Watkins died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital after an eight-year struggle with a blood-clotting disorder.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball with Pastor John Peterson officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday, both at the funeral home.
Lisa Ann Laabs was born June 30, 1968 to Raymond Sheehan, Sr. and Roxanna (Olson) Sheehan in Minneapolis. She graduated from Park Center High School in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota with the class of 1986 and worked as a nurse’s assistant. Lisa and Ricky Ralph Laabs were together for twelve years; they united in marriage on October 16, 2009 at their home in Watkins.
Lisa was a proud mother, a devoted wife, an adventurous gardener, a lover of dogs and an expert shopper. For Lisa, every day was filled with laughter, yet stubborn to the end; she always fought for what she believed in. Lisa enjoyed riding on the Harley Davidson with her husband Rick. She adored cows, so much that anything with a black spotted print was sure to make her smile. Lisa passionately believed in the strength of family and friends; her greatest enjoyment came from the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Rick of Watkins; children, Shawn Laabs of New Hope, Heidi Laabs (Alex Hemleb) of Big Lake, Christopher Sheehan of Red Wing, Joseph Sheehan of Watkins, Adam Rossberg of Kimball and Jimmy Laabs of Watkins; grandchildren, Logan, Layla, Landon and Tucker; mother, Roxanna Sheehan of Brooklyn Center; father, Raymond (Linda) Sheehan of California; cousin, Norma Schlegel of Buffalo; siblings, Brenda, Karen, and Raymond Jr., all of Massachusetts. Lisa is preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald and Marion Olson.

Ella Marie Geardink
Ella M. Geardink, age 92, of Annandale, MN owner of Geardink’s Resort on Cedar Lake died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Lake Ridge Care Center, Buffalo.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with Funeral Services held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale. The Rev. Thomas Queck will officiate and burial will be 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 28 at Lakeview Cemetery, Clear Lake, South Dakota. Memorials are preferred to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
Ella Marie Geardink was born July 14, 1917 in Altamont, SD to Emil and Nora Mae (Parker) Bublitz. In 1937 she came to the Annandale area to work at Mears’ Resort where she met her future husband Charles Geardink. They were married on September 21, 1938 at the Geardink farmstead near Altamont. In 1946 they became owners & operators of Geardink’s Resort on the north side of Cedar Lake near Annandale; Ella was still active at the Resort. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Church’s Altar Guild & Ladies Aid, and the Annandale Kiwanis Club. Ella was named 2005 Wright County Outstanding Senior Citizen. She enjoyed her family, her resort family, bowling, ceramics, and volunteering at the Annandale Food Shelf.
She is survived by daughter Charlene Flemming of Buffalo, sister Dolores Musch of Reardon, WA, four grandchildren Mitch (DeDe) Flemming of Annandale, Michelle Flemming of North Saint Paul, JoAnn (Bill) Wainscott of TX, Charles Dolan of TX, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles on December 19, 1980, daughter Janette Dolan, sisters Freida Howard & Grace Lindner and brothers Emil & Elmer Bublitz.
The music for the service will be provided by Dawn Johnson and the arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
Leo William Ahsenmacher
Leo W. Ahsenmacher, age 93, of Centennial Villa, Annandale died Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Annandale Care Center.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale. Fr. Victor Valencia will officiate and burial will follow at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Friendship Ventures.
Leo William Ahsenmacher was born July 2, 1916 at Annandale to William and Mary (Gleason) Ahsenmacher. He graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture with a degree in Forestry and served during WW II in England, France & Germany as a member of the U.S. Army. Leo married Phyllis L. Brede on December 28, 1946 in Minneapolis and she preceded him in death on November 20, 2007. For many years he was a Sales Representative for Power Tools, Inc of St. Paul retiring in 1979 when he moved from Plymouth to full-time on Clearwater Lake. He was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and enjoyed his life on the Lake & winters on Maui.
He is survived by his two children & their spouses Mary Lou & Denny Rasset of Annandale, Robert & Roxanne Ahsenmacher of Shakopee, five grandchildren Eric, Amy, Carrie, Nickie, & Jason and 3 great grandchildren Eli, Sadie Marie, & McKenna. He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, brother Joseph, and sisters Helen Callahan & Frances McAlpin.
The pallbearers will be Nickie, Eric & Stacy Rasset, Jason Ahsenmacher, Amy Ahsenmacher Winter, Dustin Winter, Carrie & Michael Kronquist, and Bill McAlpin. The music for the service will be provided by Carolyn Wicks and the arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
Walter William Farber
Walter W. Farber, age 87 of Annandale died Friday, July 9, 2010 at St. Benedict Senior Community in St. Cloud.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale. Rev. David Fretham will officiate and burial will be in First Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Glencoe. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and 1 hour prior to services, Tuesday at the church. A prayer service will be held 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Walter William Farber was born April 26, 1923 in Hopkins to Charles and Frieda (Trick) Farber. He graduated from Hopkin’s High School in 1942 and received a degree in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota, School of Business in 1950. Walter served his country in the Army during WWII; participating in the landing on Omaha Beach, part of the Normandy Invasion. After being wounded by enemy fire, he was a POW for 41 days. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star. On July 3, 1971, Walter married Arlaine Brinkman at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. He owned and operated Suburban Adjustment Company from 1979 until his retirement in 1989. Prior to that, he was employed as credit manager for Maico Hearing Instruments and the Weyerhaueser Company among others.
Walter was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale, the Richfield V.F.W. and the Richfield American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and spectator sports and in his younger years, enjoyed bowling and golf. The important things in his life were faith, family, friends and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Arlaine; children, Charles (Karen) of Bloomington, Patricia Peterson and Joan Anderson, both of Montrose; 8 grandchildren, Paul (Angie) and Kathy (Robin) Peterson, Steven, Travis and Jenée Anderson, Jason, Mason and Trevor Dziuk; 3 great grandchildren, Adrian, David and Nora; sister, Hazel Frank of Granite Falls; sisters-in-law, Carol Axt and Jeanette Brinkman; brother-in-law, Leon (Lorna) Brinkman. He is preceded in death by his neice, Amy Brinkman; brothers-in-law, Virgil Frank, Earl Brinkman and Darwin Axt; and his former wife, Delores (Wendell) Farber.
Pallbearers will be Paul and Robin Peterson, Steven and Travis Anderson, Christopher and Nicholas Axt. Kevin Axt and Julie Stiles, vocalists, and Julie Starke, organist will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
Francis Justin Pribyl
Francis "Bud" Pribyl, age 88 of Maple Lake, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at his daughter's home with his family at his side.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake. Fr. David Hennen and Deacon Mike Medley will officiate and burial will be in St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery, Maple Lake. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10:15 a.m. Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. Parish Prayers will be 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Francis Justin "Bud" Pribyl was born September 17, 1921 in Buffalo, MN to Frank and Elizabeth (Lammerding) Pribyl. Bud graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1939. He was united in marriage to Annette Dorothy Krautbauer on October 8, 1947 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Monticello. Bud lived his entire life in the Maple Lake area, mostly working on his farm. He was also a co-owner of Progressive Dairy in Maple Lake, a manufacturer and distributor of frozen dairy products.
Bud was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, Wright Saddle Club, Catholic Foresters, and Father O'Brien Council Knights of Columbus #3613. Bud enjoyed horses, working on the farm, and the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Annette, of Maple Lake; children, David (Julie) Pribyl of Maple Lake, Alan (Sally) Pribyl of Burnsville and Connie (Steve) Schnabel of Buffalo; grandchildren, Mark, Gorden, Vickie, Steven, Anna, Courtney, Shaelee, Justin, Patrick, Christopher, Nichole, Russell, Adam, Jessica and Taylor; great grandchildren, Zachery, Trevor, Porter, Jacqueline, Gage, Kade, Jonathan, Christopher, Susie, Joseph, Ty, Kelsey, JuliAnna, Danica, Josie, Emma, Madison, Jeffrey, Tate, Daric, Toby, Aiden and Nathan; siblings, John "Jack" Pribyl of Annandale and Mary Gruenhagen of Owatonna. Bud is preceded in death by his son, Frankie on July 25, 1978 and brothers, Vernon and Raymond.
The pallbearers will be Mark Pribyl, Gorden Heaver, Steven Pribyl, Justin Pribyl, Adam Schnabel, Russell Stuhr, Patrick Pribyl, Christopher Pribyl, Taylor Schnabel. Music for the service will be provided by Marge Pavlik, organist, Allison Totz, soloist, and St. Timothy's Resurrection Choir. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.
Gerald Lee Mundell
Gerald L. Mundell, age 79, of Buffalo, formerly of Annandale died peacefully, Thursday, June 10, 2010.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Jerry’s residence, 1525 W. Shore Drive, Buffalo, MN. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea.
Gerald Lee Mundell was born December 3, 1930 in Mason City, Iowa to Cyril and Violet (Benson) Mundell. He was married to Barbara Jean Mundell for 32 years. He was a longtime resident of Clearwater Lake. Jerry owned Specialty Sales Service, Stow-a-Way Self Storage, Cedar Lake Apartments, and many other small ventures. He owned and worked for various real estate agencies throughout Annandale and Buffalo, and enjoyed refurbishing old houses. Jerry served in the SCARWAF unit of the Army during the Korean war, was a longstanding member of the Annandale Lions Club and was on the Board of Directors during the building of the Annandale Care Center. He loved spending time with family and friends and being outdoors doing pretty much anything.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Peter Mundell & Michael Wetzel of Maple Grove and Lauren & Dan Wipper of Clearwater. He is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Mundell, parents and former wife.
Allan Edward Zipoy
Allan E. “Zip” Zipoy, age 76 of Kimball died Friday, July 16, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kimball. Rev. David Milz will officiate and burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, both at the church. A prayer service will be held 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials are preferred to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Kimball.
Allan Edward Zipoy was born May 2, 1934 in Grand Forks, ND to Edward and Caroline (Novak) Zipoy. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis with the class of 1953. He served his country as a jet airplane mechanic in the U.S. Navy during the end of the Korean War. He served on the USS Ranger and the USS Hornet. On July 14, 1956, Zip was married to Shirley Marohn at Nokomis Heights Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Together, they own and operate Zip’s Diesel Injection Service in St. Augusta, which they founded in 1976.
In his younger years, Zip enjoyed water and down hill skiing. He loved traveling and hunting up north. Zip enjoyed machinery, inventing, and finding new and creative ways to fix and make things better. His favorite place was the cabin, especially when he was sharing it with his grandchildren. Zip had a big heart and loved to socialize; he never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; 2 sons and their wives, Tim & Susan and Tom & Sarah, all of Kimball; 5 grandchildren, Hannah, Theodore, John, Benjamin and Julia.
Pallbearers will be Tim Zipoy, Tom Zipoy, Mark Jansky, Todd Fruechte, Mike Westin, Dan Karpinski, Stan Marohn and Allen Love. Honorary pallbearers will be his five grandchildren. Hannah Zipoy, Lori Rippentrop and Bud Jay will provide the music for the service. Military Honors will be provided by the Kimball American Legion Post 261 and the Minnesota Army National Guard Honor Guard. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Kimball.
Ethel Irene Arnzen
Ethel I. Arnzen, age 91, died Friday, June 11, 2010 at her home on Indian Lake, rural Maple Lake where she has lived the past 35 years.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. with Memorial Services held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. The Rev. Steven King will officiate; he & Becky King will provide music. Private family interment will be held at Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud.
Ethel Irene Arnzen was born July 27, 1918 in Minneapolis to Haaken and H. Alice (Franzen) Rostad. She graduated from South High School and married Cyril H. Arnzen on September 13, 1947 in Minneapolis; he preceded her in death on October 16, 2006.
She is survived by her three daughters & their husbands Gayle & David Garven of Blaine, Sandy & Richard Miicke of Phoenix, Diane & Tom Fahey of Minneapolis, three grandchildren Jennifer Simon, Amy Cushing, Mike Fahey, and 6 great grandchildren. Her husband and grandson Jeffrey Garven preceded her in death.
