Maureen Zinser

Maureen Zinser, 40 of Buffalo, died Thursday, December 8, 2005 as the result of an auto accident near Buffalo. A celebration of her life was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 13 at the Peterson Chapel, St. Michael - Albertville Funeral Home. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, December 12 at the funeral home.
Maureen "Nee Nee" Lyn Nuttall was born on January 4, 1965 in Minneapolis the daughter of Dr. Frank Q. and Barbara J. (Quam) Nuttall. She grew up in the Twin Cities and graduated from Rosemount High School in 1983. She then attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul where she graduated with a business degree in 1987. Maureen continued her education in nursing program at the University of Memphis where she graduated with honors as a Registered Nurse.
She was united in marriage to Louis C. Zinser on September 29, 1990. The couple made their home in Memphis and later moved to Buffalo where she resided at the time of her death.
Maureen was currently employed as a Research Nurse Coordinator at the Minneapolis Clinic of Neurology.
She enjoyed dancing and fishing. She was involved and volunteered her time with the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Zinser of Buffalo; children Alexandra and Victoria Zinser at home; parents Frank and Barbara Nuttall of Eagan; siblings, Gregory (Lori) Nuttall of Rochester, Bryan (Michelle) Nuttall of Brooklyn Park and Jennifer (Kurt) Martinson of Saginaw, MI and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo is serving the family.

Wilford Sandell

Wilford S. Sandell, 90 of South Haven died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at the V.A. Medical Center, St. Cloud, where he has been a resident the past four years.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 10 at Lake Union Covenant Church, South Haven with Rev. Mike McCain officiating. Burial followed in Lake Union Cemetery. Friends called one hour prior to services at the church. The arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale. Memorials are preferred to the St. Cloud VA Medical Center.
Wilford Stanley Sandell was born May 4, 1915 in Kandiyohi County to Frank and Beda (Adams) Sandell. He was raised in South Haven where he attended Sunday school and was confirmed at Lake Union Covenant Church. He married Elaine Erickson January 1, 1942 in Kingston and she preceded him in death on October 20, 1982. Wilford honorably served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed his working life farming, also ice fishing, deer hunting, polka music, auctions, socializing, farm equipment, wildlife, welding and being a handyman.
He is survived by children and their spouses, Gerald Sandell of South Haven, James and Gayle Sandell of Buffalo, Tina and Terry McStotts of Dassel; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Sandell of South Haven; and his loyal pet dog, Scooter. He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter Mary; brother Franklin; infant twin sisters and an infant brother.
The pallbearers were Josh, Ryan and Kallie Sandell, Matt, Dan and Eric McStotts. The honorary pallbearers were Lowell Olson, Roger Hendrickson, Robert Schmidt, David Peterson, Marshall Werner and Gary Sandell. The music for the service was provided by Marleigh Rumsey, organist and Carol Looman, soloist.

Tom McKay

Thomas J. McKay, Sr., 81 of Buffalo, passed away on December 4, 2005.
Preceded in death by parents; grandson, Kellen McNeill; brother, Del; brother-in-law, Emmett Hanratty; sister-in-law, Dorothy McKay. Survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Marilyn; loving children, Tom Jr. (Mary Ann), Diane McKay, Derek (Maggie) and Nadine (Don) McNeill; grandchildren, Eric McKay, Nicole (Greg) Meyers, Aaron (Melissa) McKay, Nadine (Jeff) Kirk and Brian McNeill; great-grandchildren, Danielle, Christian, Gabrielle and Nicholas; siblings, Edward "Mickey, " Harriet (Tom) Chenvert and Betty Hanratty; sister-in-law, Jackie McKay; many other relatives and friends.
Tom was one of the founders/ co-owner of Egan McKay Electrical Contractors. He sold his portion of the company in 1984 and retired so he could pursue one of his greatest passions in life, trapshooting. He's traveled around the U.S. and spent his last 18 winters in Arizona with his wife doing the thing he loved, trapshooting.
Tom was president of N.E.C.A. for 4 years. His father (Harry McKay) was one of the charter members to form the I.B.E.W. in Minnesota. Tom himself was a member for 60 years. He was also very active and held many positions while in the office for the M.T.A., one of those being Minnesota's A.T.A. (Amateur Trapshooting Association) delegate for 13 years. His little "shooting buddy, " as he called him (his dog), T.J. was his constant companion at every shoot following him. Tom also served in the Navy Seabees WW II. His achievements in life are too numerous to list. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Buffalo Gun Club.
For all the people he touched the hearts of he will be sadly missed.
Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Service Friday 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at: Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, W. 50th St. and Hwy. 100 at Vernon Ave. 952-920-3996.

Arnon Taylor

Arnon L. Taylor, 86, of Buffalo, MN and formerly of Warners, New York, died Sunday, April 16.
He was born in Geneva, New York to Lloyd and Ethel (Baker) Taylor. He graduated from Geneva High School in 1937. He was active in band, and also started a jazz band where he played trombone. He was a great older brother, building tree houses, igloos, sewing doll clothes and making the best candy. He was a top student who won scholarship to Clarkson University but was unable to come up with the rest of the money to attend because of the lack of jobs during the Depression. He went to Florida and started work for former WW I flying ace, Eddie Rickenbacker at Eastern Airlines becoming a top mechanic there.
Arnon served his country in WW II as a flight engineer on B-29 Bombers. He retired from General Electric in Syracuse in the early 70s, but continued to work making clocks, repairing and remodeling homes. He loved inventing gadgets, making wine, tending bees and his wife and family. He enjoyed cooking up different delectable desserts especially his pies, which were popular at family reunions. A collector of many things, his grandchildren always enjoyed a visit to the basement and the treasure it held.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be Thursday, April 20 at 7 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
Survived by wife Maria; children: Diana (Bill) McCarty of Buffalo, Carol (James) Hart of St. Paul, James (Jean) Taylor of Washougal, Washington, George Taylor of Tigarv, Oregon, and Nancy Wright of Lake Helen, Florida; sister CB (Jack) Kinsella of Rochester, New York; brother Harold (Barb) Taylor of Waterloo, New York; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents Lloyd and Ethel Taylor; sons Robert and Jack and sisters Ruth Maney, Esther Lochner and Doris Hawkes.
Private interment later at Fort Snelling.
Arrangements were made by the Peterson Chapel of Buffalo.

Kenneth Paumen

Kenneth J. Paumen, 75 of Buffalo, died Thursday, April 13, 2006 at his home.
Kenneth John Paumen was born on August 11, 1930 in Albion Township, Wright County, the son of Martin F. and Veronica (Stumpf) Paumen. Kenneth attended district #62 grade school near Maple Lake and graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1948.
Kenneth was united in marriage to Lila Haverty at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Maple Lake on June 2, 1951.
Kenneth was employed at Northdale Construction in Rogers where he drove truck hauling heavy equipment.
Kenneth will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed and cherished the times he spent with his family.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of over 54 years, Lila; children, Diane (James) Smail of Yorktown, VA, Debra (Bruce) Otten of Buffalo, Rebecca (Bruce) Ruhe of Buffalo and Lee (Kimi) Paumen of Buffalo; grandchildren, Andrea and Emily Smail, Ryan and Rachel Otten, Charles and Tara Otten, Cord and Jacquelyn Paumen and three great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Angela) Paumen, Marvin (Faye) Paumen; sister, Edna (Dan) Knoblauch; sister-in-law, Anne Paumen; stepsister, Margaret Grane and stepbrother, David (Phyllis) Reznicek.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Veronica Paumen; son, Dean Paumen; stepfather, Anthony Reznicek and brother, Jerome Paumen.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 17 at the Church of St. Francis in Buffalo. Father Tom Rayar was the celebrant and Marilyn Quigley was the organist. Vocalists were Greg Duerr and Kathy Peterson. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, April 16 at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 6:30 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continued at the funeral chapel on Monday from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
Interment was in St. Francis Cemetery in Buffalo.
The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo served the family.

Mildred Schubert

Mildred (Millie) M. Schubert, 84 of Buffalo, born December 29, 1921, carried home to heaven on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2006.
Visitation was held Tues., April 18 from 4 to 8 at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
Funeral services were held on Wed., April 19 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to service.
Millie and her late husband, Bill, were very giving and caring people. Their home was always open to many extended families. A proud dairy farmer's wife, she used to raise chickens, sell eggs and canned garden goods. When Dean Rural Telephone was established, Millie did the bookkeeping (billing, etc.) while her husband installed the lines and phones. While working for Garden Design and Wright County Day Activity Center, Millie was an active member in her church, Wright County Home Extension groups and visited local nursing homes, neighbors and relatives with her husband. Other interests included: flower gardening, playing the organ and singing hymns.
Millie is survived by daughter Mary Ann Peterson of Monticello; son Alan Schubert (Julann) of Elk River; daughter Susan Bistram (Gary) of White Bear Lake; sister-in-law Margaret Klemz of Buffalo; grandchildren, Ann Marie and Charlie Pike of Wellington, New Zealand, Todd and Tracy Peterson of Minneapolis, Kirk and Joan Peterson of Plymouth, Beth Peterson of Minneapolis, Eric and Leah Schubert of Mountlake Terrace, WA, Jason and Amber Schubert of Zimmerman, Angela and Ben Ruppe of Baldwin, WI, Bridget and Earnest Lyons of Minneapolis and 15 beautiful great-grandchildren; beloved godchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Interment at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery of Crawford.

Joseph O'Connell

Joseph Francis O'Connell, 74, formerly of Waverly, now of International Falls, Minn. passed away April 9 in Apache Junction, Ariz.
Joe was born March 27, 1932 to Frank P. and Mary E. (Foley) O'Connell. He was one of five children.
In 1960, he and his brother Ed bought a farm south of Waverly, which they farmed in partnership until they retired in 1994.
On August 18, 1973, Joe and Trudy Jeannine Gibson were united in marriage. Over the years Joe and Trudy were privileged to adopt three daughters.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Dan and sister Alice.
Survivors include his wife Trudy; daughters Kathleen (Timothy) Eisel of Superior, Wisc., Sara (Kevin) Flynn of Duluth and Anita (Leo) Dugas of International Falls; his sister Ann McNamara of Goodhue; his brother Edward (Judy) O'Connell of Chandler, Ariz. Joe is further survived by nieces and nephews, three grandchildren and eight honorary grandchildren.
Joe and Trudy have been full-time RVers since 2001, spending summers at Breezy Point, Minn. and winters at Apache Junction, Ariz. Joe was happiest when driving down the highway in his Ford pulling his HitchHiker trailer. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
The review will be Thursday, April 20 at St. Mary's in Waverly from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be at the Church of St. Mary in Waverly at 10 a.m. April 21. Reverend Timothy Cloutier will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Arrangements were by Apache Junction Funeral Home and Iten Funeral Home in Delano.

Gerald Beilke

Gerald R. (Gerry) Beilke, 71 of Buffalo, died April 16, 2006 at his home. He was born June 17, 1934 at Slayton, Minn., son of Albert (Bob) and Rhea M. Harmsen Beilke. He was united in marriage to Rose M. Einberger Gilland on October 31, 1977 at Sioux Falls, S.D.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He hauled milk for 46 years and enjoyed his work and his friendships with the farmers who he worked for.
Mr. Beilke is survived by his wife Rose; stepsons William (Linda) Gilland of Monticello, James (Barbara) Gilland Jr. of Monticello and Jason (Leah) Gilland of Backus, Minn.; 16 step grandchildren; 4 step great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Larry (Carol) Einberger of Maple Grove; special friend Bryan Georges of Buffalo; brother Richard (Sherry) Beilke of Burnsville; nephew and niece David (Vicki) Kobbe of Buffalo and Molly (Dave) Welshons of Hastings and godchild Brian Beilke of Crystal. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Arnold Kobbe; brother-in-law Leo Einberger III, stepson Keith Gilland.
Graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 19 at Kreidler Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at Peterson Chapel, Buffalo.
Casket bearers were Lawrence Einberger, Roland Anderson, Jeff Storbakken, David Kobbe, Dave Welshons and Brian Beilke.
Peterson Chapel of Buffalo served the family.

Curtis Christiansen

Curtis R. Christiansen, 54 of Bayfield, CO, formerly of Buffalo, MN passed away on March 31, 2006. He was the son of Joan Christiansen and the late Don Christiansen of Buffalo.
A memorial service for Curtis was held in Bayfield on April 3. There will be a celebration of Curt's life on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Buffalo Covenant Church located at 1601 N. Highway 25 in Buffalo.
