Mary Wilson
Funeral services for Mary Evelyn Wilson, 92, Coon Rapids, took place March 2 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Thomas Kunnel officiated.
Wilson died Feb. 26, 2004. She was born Jan. 12, 1912 in Davison County, S.D., to Hiram Julius and Elizabeth (Wooley) Osman.
She is survived by her daughters, Georgia (Donald) Govednik of Andover, Mary (George) Duvall of Dalbo; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, June (Paul) Carlson of California; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; and grandson, Dennis Pearson.
Pallbearers were Curt Gallup, James Govednik, Bill Galvin, Joe Duvall, Christopher Norman and Patrick Alberg.
Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Sandra Yeager
Funeral services for Sandra Yeager, 55, Coon Rapids, took place Feb. 25 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. William Kirmsse officiated.
Yeager died Feb. 21, 2004 in Coon Rapids. She was born Aug. 3, 1948 in Minneapolis and was a tax preparer.
She is survived by her husband, Gene; children, Brian, Kathy (Dean) Frias, Bruce (Trista) and Kristy; six grandchildren; mother, June Anderson; sisters, Ginny and Susie; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Merlin.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Oscar Anderson
Funeral services for Oscar Andrew Anderson, 88, Anoka, took place March 8 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Connie Tiede officiated.
Anderson died March 4, 2004 in Anoka. He was born Sept. 14, 1915 in Robbinsdale to Andrew Robert and Gearda Anderson, and was a retired railroad mechanic.
He is survived by his daughter, Carol Mann; granddaughters, Allyson Mann and Jill (Brett) Holm; great-grandchildren, Sadie and Noah Mann, Sarah and Alex Holm; step-great-grandson, Cody Porvaznik; sisters, Margaret Youngquist, Carrie Morgan and Lillian Anderson; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Gearda Anderson; sister, Rose McLaughlin; brother, Robert; sister-in-law, Marion; son-in-law, Roger Mann; and grandson, Craig Mann.
Pallbearers were Allyson and Sadie Mann, and Brett, Sarah and Alex Holm.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Robert Atneosen
Funeral services for Robert Atneosen, 68, Blaine, took place March 9 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Atneosen died March 5, 2004. He was born Sept. 29, 1935 in Springbrook, Wis., and worked for 43 years at LifeTouch, formerly National School Studios.
He is survived by his sons, Jeff, Keith (Sandy), Kirk, Rory, Troy; daughter, Carmel (Wayne); twin sister, Barbara (Vern); sisters, Marion (Otto), Betty (Al), Mina; grandchildren, Tina, Brenda, Leea, Tyler, Krystal, Jamie, Christopher, Holly; and great-grandchildren, Awstun and Zoe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Anna; ex-wife, Mary; and sisters, Doris, Eleanor, Beverly and Opal.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Marion Dixon
Funeral services for Marion Rae Dixon (O'Brien), 71, Brooklyn Park, formerly of Coon Rapids, took place March 10 at Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids.
Dixon died March 5, 2004 at North Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 5, 1933 in Minneapolis and was a retired hospital nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Simon 'Jim;' children, Merrie Jo Herr (Nick), Susan Rae Hendrick (Steven), Sarah Jane St. Marie (Brent), Joel Adam Dixon (Bridget); grandchildren, Benjamin, Louis and Katelyn Rae Hendrick, Ceara Emerald Dixon; sister, Patricia 'Patty' O'Brien; and special cousin, Joan O'Brien.
Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Naomi Edstadt
Funeral services for Naomi Ruth Edstadt, 76, Anoka, took place March 10 at Coon Rapids Evangelical Free Church. Rev. Dean Johnson officiated.
Edstadt died March 6, 2004 at Twin Rivers Care Center, Anoka. She was born June 29, 1927 in Allegan, Mich., to George and Veda K. (Greensides) Wright, and was a retired laundry woman at Community Hospital Linen Service in Minneapolis.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; son, Bruce (Connie); daughter, Carol (Mark) Weber; son-in-law, Pat (Patty) Cleland; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers, Bruce (Sandy) Wright and Dennis (Connie) Wright; and sisters, Peggy (Rollie) Anthony and June Wright.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy.
Pallbearers were Dave Ehne, Marlin Anderson, Jerry Monson, Keith Hagen and Tim Graber.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Hildegarde Erickson
Funeral services for Hildegarde Ann Erickson, 88, Elk River, took place March 2 at Parkers Lake Cemetery, Plymouth.
Erickson died Feb. 28, 2004 in Coon Rapids. She was born Nov. 2, 1915 in Delano to John Topel and Ann Otto.
She is survived by her son, William (Betty); daughters, Rene (Don) Malmgren and Terry (Richard) Portner; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Interment was at Parkers Lake Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart.
Debborah Fisher
Funeral services for Debborah K. 'Debbie' Fisher, 48, Zimmerman, took place March 9 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Fisher died March 3, 2004. She was born Sept. 29, 1955 in Crookston to Delmar and Betty E.M. (Craven) Ness.
She is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Kae Legg, Lisa (Shawn) Ronneng, all of Zimmerman, Genia (Chad) Anderson of Bloomington; 11 grandchildren; mother, Betty Ness of Minneapolis; brothers, Richard (Terry) Ness of Columbia Heights, David Ness of Minneapolis; sisters, Judy (Mike) Moran of Red Lake Falls, Linda Donarski of Thief River Falls, Bonnie Ness of Minneapolis; nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Delmar; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edgar and Lem Fisher; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bruce and Sophia Legg.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
John Galka
Funeral services for John A. Galka, 80, took place March 8 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Galka died March 5, 2004 in Coon Rapids. He was born June 1, 1923 in Minneapolis. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II, participating in the initial landings and occupation of Guam and Iwo Jima. He worked for FMC, now United Defense, for 44 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Keene Galka; children, Deanna (James) Stratton, Kathleen Peterson, Michael (Betty) Coolbroth, Jack Coolbroth; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; nephew, Duane (Patty) Reynolds and family; brother-in-law, Robert A. Keene and family; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Barbara; sisters, Mary, Stella and Josephine; and brother, Walter,
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Ruth Hauck
Dr. Ruth M. Jolly Hauck, 79, Gardnerville, Nev., formerly of Anoka, died Feb. 17, 2004 in Carson City, Nev.
She was born Aug. 30, 1924 in Hackensack, N.J., and grew up in Anoka where she graduated from Anoka High School in 1942.
She worked as a clinician and district health officer in Alameda County, Calif., from 1950-66, then was a clinician for the El Dorado County Health Department, Nev., and served as county physician and health officer for Alpine County, Nev.
She is survived by her husband, Gerard; son and daughter-in-law, Karl and Patti; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Michael Dodd; brother and sister-in-law, Donald C. and Mary Jolly of Bend, Ore.; granddaughters, Luanne Cunningham, Heather Redlark, Emily Round and Amber Baca; step-grandson, Michael Dodd; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances King and Betty Sibary; and daughter, Janet Hauck.
Arrangements were by FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home, Carson City, Nev.
Bert Hulstrand
Memorial services for Bert E. Hulstrand, 80, Anoka, will take place at Faith Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids Monday, March 15, 11 a.m.
Hulstrand died March 3, 2004. He was born April 20, 1923 in Goodhue County. He served in the Army as an X-ray technician stationed in postwar Japan. The first part of his career was devoted to government contract work, including work as a systems engineer on the Apollo project. Later, he was the sole proprietor of Power Maintenance Company, an electric motor and power tool repair shop in Anoka.
He is survived by his children, Janet, John, and Betsey; grandchildren, Jerico and Carolyn Sanchez of Minneapolis, and Phineas and Samuel Rueckert of Washington D.C.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Powers Hulstrand.
