Estelle Poepping
Funeral services for Estelle H. Poepping, 76, Blaine, took place Feb. 18 at Methven-Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Liane Rock officiated.
Poepping died Feb. 14, 2004 at Mercy Hospital. She was born May 21, 1927 in Mahnomen, Wis., to Henry B. Terway and Esther C. Hanson and was a retired government clerk.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; sisters, Idella Roach, Lorna Schulz, Ivy Whipkey; nephews, David and Doug Roach, Kevin Schulz, Stephen Whipkey; nieces, Jennifer Jones, Susan Williamson; and great niece, Kristina Schulz.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home.
Audrey Rudshagen
Funeral services for Audrey L. Rudshagen, , 71, Coon Rapids, will take place today (Friday, Feb. 20), 11 a.m., at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Moorhead. Rev. Larry Wohlrabe officiated.
Rudshagen died Feb. 12, 2004 in Coon Rapids. She was born April 8, 1932 in Comorant Lake to Roy and Matilda Bloom.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl (Jesse) Mitchell; grandchildren, Courtney and Austin; sisters, Beverly Lewondowski, Ruth (Curtis) Harmon, Marie Bloom, Shirley Remme and Maxine (Roger) Nelson; and brother, Karl LeRoy Bloom.
She was preceded in death by her husband Adolph; parents, Matilda and Roy Bloom; and sister, Gloria Hedberg.
Interment was at Felton Cemetery, Felton. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Ronald Slatosky
Funeral services for Ronald A. Slatosky, 39, Blaine, took place Feb. 15 at Gearhart Funeral Chapel. Rev. James Martin officiated.
Slatosky died Feb. 11, 2004 in Coon Rapids. He was an auto mechanic.
He is survived by his fiancee, Tham Miller; daughter, Julie; special children, Ronald (Mindy) Miller and Christopher, Julie Miller and Ben Hanibal; grandchildren, Quinten and Gabby; mother, Lois; sisters, Cheryl (Steve) Silva, Sue, Rosemary (Gary) Harris; and aunt and uncle, Joyce and Bud.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert.
Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Inez Tasler
Funeral services for Inez Elaine Tasler, 67, Ham Lake, took place Feb. 19 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Chaplain William Steinke officiated.
Tasler died Feb. 14, 2004 in Ham Lake. She was born Aug. 10, 1936 in Ryder, N.D., to Samuel and Myrtie Irene (Nelson) Hunter and was retired from Cornelius.
She is survived by her children, Denyce (John) Alford, Rick Tasler, Lori Tasler (Phil Schultz), Jeff (Sue) Tasler, Jeanine Tasler (Chris Beedle); grandchildren, Brenda, Teressa, Celia, Kyle, Sarah, Josie, Jenny, Sheldon, Chase, Payton, Zach, Crystal, Nathan and Kristy; brother, Raymond Hunter; and sisters, Doris Rinerson, Lois Sather and Ellen Duguay.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ned.
Pallbearers were Jeff, Kyle and Rick Tasler, John Alford, Sheldon and Chris Beedle, Phil Schultz and Rick Girouard.
Interment was at Rush Creek Cemetery, Maple Grove. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Inga Waggoner
Funeral services for Inga Sebo Waggoner, 87, Anoka, will take place today (Friday, Feb. 20), 2 p.m., at Bethel Church, Bagley. Rev. Steven McCaughan will officiate.
Waggoner died Feb. 15, 2004 at Anoka Care Center. She was born Jan. 25, 1917 in Bagley to Knut and Ingaborg Sebo.
She is survived by her son, Robert B. Waggoner (Susan Burner); grandchildren, Todd and Crissy; sister, Mable (Odin) Tollefson; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert C.; son, Gerald; brothers, Halver, Hank, Otto and Carl; and sisters, Anna, Alma and Clara.
Pallbearers will be Todd, Terry, Tom, Tracy and Todd Waggoner.
Interment will be at Nora Township Cemetery, Bagley. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Bryon Anderson
Funeral services for Bryon L. Anderson, 83, Spring Lake Park, took place Feb. 23 at Sunrise United Methodist Church. Revs. Richard Harper and Shirley Duncanson officiated.
Anderson died Feb. 18, 2004 in New Brighton. He was born Oct. 1, 1920 in Silver Creek Township to Edwin and Marion Anderson and was a retired custodian for the University of Minnesota.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Mary (Larry) Reeves, Barbara (Stan) Bedbury, Karen (Jim) Geronime; son, Jamie Anderson; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and cousins, Dorothy Anderson and Gladyce Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Marion Anderson.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Jane Anderson
Funeral services for Jane Evaline Anderson, 78, Cambridge, formerly of Bethel, took place Feb. 21 at the West Bethel United Methodist Church. Rev. Mike Sullivan officiated.
Anderson died away Feb. 18, 2004 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital. She was born June 28, 1925 in Bethel to Walter and Bessie Wyatt. She was a graduate of St. Francis High School and was retired from Cambridge State Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald (Andy); sons, Thomas (Sara), Philip (Barbara), Peter; daughter, Patty (Pete) Semler; grandchildren, Jason (Jenny) Semler, Suzy (Troy) Jacobson, Mandy (Matt) Njos, Josh Anderson; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Colby, Mackenzie, Katie, Joslyn, and Jacob; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; and two sisters.
Pallbearers were Jason Semler, Troy Jacobson, Josh Anderson, Matt Njos, and Mark and Jacob Jensen.
Interment was at the Old Bethel Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Carlson-Labatte Funeral Home in Cambridge.
Evelyn Barrans
Funeral services for Evelyn Pearl Barrans, 80, Roseville, formerly of Anoka, took place Feb. 20 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Peter Drake.
Barrans died Feb. 16, 2004 at Rose of Sharon Manor, Roseville. She was born June 8, 1923 in Anoka to Daniel Lester and Ruth Eldora (Stuart) Eden. She was a missionary in Mexico for more than 30 years.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; son, Arthur (Jane) Kost of Hudson, Wis.; daughter, Kathy (Steve) Anderson of Edinberg, Texas; sisters, Janet (Paul) Moore of Coon Rapids, Rita (Daniel) Stranges of Brooklyn N.Y., and Maxine Jones of Anoka; stepchildren, Darla, David and Norman; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Kost; son; parents; two brothers; and a sister.
Pallbearers were Chuck Sutton, Craig Dorney, Chris and Brandon Kost, Perry Baker and Buddy Moore.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Opal Bendt
Funeral services for Opal D. Bendt, 84, Brooklyn Park, took place Feb. 21 at Brooklyn United Methodist Church. Rev. Marilyn Evans officiated.
Bendt died Feb. 15, 2004. She was born April 12, 1919 in Nobles.
She is survived by her children, Elvin Waldo 'Wally' Starz (Judy), Judee Anderson, Jean Bendt; grandchildren, Julie Huso, Wayne Starz, Todd Starz, Jennifer Martelli, Wendee Schwiezer, and Kim Hanson; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and brothers and sisters, Arthur DeBuck, Virginia Costello, Max Sporer, Patricia Lewis, June Podaiske, Doris Schaefer and Jean Braa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie.
Interment was at Hills of Red Memorial Park, Sioux Falls, S.D. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Vernon Elvine
Funeral services for Vernon Elvine, 68, Onamia, took place Feb. 19 at First Baptist Church of Anoka. Rev. Abe Cardosa officiated.
Elvine died Feb. 14, 2004. He was born Aug. 5, 1935 in Isanti to Thure Elvine and Astrid Engbloom, and was a retired foreman at Control Data.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Casler; brother, Rodney Elvine; sisters, Betty Davis; nephews and nieces, Robby, Joe and James Elvine, Linda Bonfeid, Carolyn Craft and Peggy Weber; many cousins; and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Interment was at Dalbo Baptist Cemetery, Dalbo. Arrangements were by Gearhart.
Claribel Jensen
Funeral services for Claribel Jensen, 80, Isanti, will take place tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 28), 11 a.m., at St. Francis United Methodist Church. Rev. Rhode Jacobson will officiate.
Jensen died Feb. 23, 2004 at Mercy Hospital. She was born July 7, 1923 in Anoka to Calvin and Georgena (Bell) Reynolds.
She is survived by her husband, Rudy; children, Judith (David) Lee of Faribault, James (Monique) Jensen and Jerry (Rita) Jensen, all of Isanti, Joan (Patrick) Anderson of Champlin; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Franz (Shirley) Reynolds of California, George (LaDonna) Reynolds of St. Louis Park, and John Reynolds of Anoka; sisters, Alice Ann Lyles of Anoka, Marlys (Jack) McLaughlin of Arizona and JoAnn (Rick) Kronick of Colorado; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Georgena Reynolds; and sisters, Katherine Lehn, Meryl Ridge and Miriam Gripp.
Pallbearers were Andrea and Adrienne Lee, Pierre, Rudy, Trent and Marie Jensen and Jason Reynolds.
Interment will be at West Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove. Arrangements are by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
