Funeral service for Ashlee Ann Schmidtbauer, 19, Ham Lake, took place July 17 at Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids.
Schmidtbauer died July 12, 2006. She was born Nov. 24, 1986.
She is survived by her son, Aden; parents, Bob and Melissa; sister, Myriah; brothers, Jacob and Bob Kalar; aunts and uncles, Kathy (Bernie) Raidt, Sandy (Doug) Borne, Barbara (Kevin) Johnson, Linda (Tom) McDonald, Joan Berge, Don (Kim) Schmidtbauer, David (Sandy) Schmidtbauer, Virginia Roethler; and many other cousins and friends.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Donald Aufderhar
Funeral service for Donald LeRoy Aufderhar, 81, Coon Rapids, took place July 19 at Gearhart Funeral Home. Dr. Daniel Hagberg officiated.
Aufderhar died July 13, 2006. He was born April 19, 1925 in LeSeuer to Roy Aufderhar and Edith Moser. He was a retired machine operator.
He is survived by his children, Donald Jr., Unae Manci, Steve, Ninette, Chris, Shanon; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Glen (Kathleen); and sister, Lois (Marvin) Benson.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home.
Eugene Becker
Funeral service for Eugene 'Gene' N. Becker, 48, Oak Grove, will take place today (Friday, Aug. 4), 11 a.m., at Family of Christ Church, Ham Lake. Rev. Dennis Perryman officiated.
Becker died July 31, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. He was born June 27, 1958 in Minneapolis to Norman E. Becker and Elizabeth H. Bauer and was self-employed in the insurance industry.
He is survived by his wife, Denise; children, Ryan (Sarah) Becker, Aaron Becker and Carlyn Becker; stepchildren, Charity Wittmer and Heather Wittmer; grandchildren, Mathew and Mackinzie; father, Norman (Violet) Becker; sisters, DeAnn (Gene) Betterman and Nora (Fred) Bowers; and brother, John Becker.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Mechtel.
Pallbearers were Ryan, Aaron and Carlyn Becker and Ken Lueck.
Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Roger Bedow
Funeral service for Roger L. Bedow, 70, Coon Rapids, took place July 20 at Olive Branch Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids.
Bedow died July 16, 2006. He was born Aug. 23, 1935 near Arco. He and his wife were foster parents to over 600 children and were chosen as child care foster parents of the year in 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; daughter, Julie (Tarek) Alkatout; son, Karl; grandson, Malik; brothers, sisters, aunt, uncle, cousin; and other family and many foster children.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Homes, Anoka Chapel.
Gary Gustafson
Funeral service for Gary D. Gustafson, 66, Coon Rapids, took place July 27, 2006 at Christ Lutheran Church, Blaine. Rev. Margaret Guelker officiated.
He is survived by his wife, Dee; children; grandchildren; mother; and brother and sister.
Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Lyle Hansen
Funeral service for Lyle Walter Hansen, 56, Ramsey, took place July 30 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Bill Blancke officiated.
Hansen died July 27, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. He was born April 9, 1950 in Princeton to Alvin Duane and Joyce Ada (Toth) Hansen and was a retired welder.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; sons, Chad, Troy and Merritt; grandson, Lucas; parents, Alvin and Joyce; brothers, Carl, Glen (Sharon), Vern and Mark (Cheryl) Hansen; and sister, Nancy (Steve) Campbell.
Pallbearers were James Johnson, Mark Hansen, Steve Campbell, Bill Clement and Adam and Aaron Peterson.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Gail Hazuka
Funeral service for Gail Marie Hazuka, 47, Champlin, took place July 31 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Paul Tracy officiated.
Hazuka died July 26, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. She was born May 21, 1959 in Libertyville, Ill., to Robert Cornelious and Dolores Tillie (Danielowicz) Schmieder. She was retired from Xcel Energy.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Jamie, Becky and Bobby; grandchildren, Daesha, Riley, Carter and Alexis; parents, Dolores and Verril Foss; brother, Bill Schmieder; sisters, Diane (Willis) Olson and Nancy (Jim) Porter; stepmother, Carole Nelson; stepsisters, Debbie (John) Evans, Susan (Walt) Eagan and Becky (Jim) Volkman; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Schmieder; and brother, Timothy Foss.
Pallbearers were Bill Schmieder, Michael Banghart, Richard and James Hazuka, Willis Olson and James Porter.
Interment was at Champlin Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Lowell Hovind
Funeral service for Lowell Clayton Hovind, 88, Dayton, took place Aug. 1 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka.
Hovind died July 28, 2006 at Anoka Care Center. He was born Dec. 11, 1917 in Burns Township to Ole and Ida (Anderson) Hovind. He was a farmer.
He is survived by his wide, Marie Dris; sons, James (Jonell) Hovind, Steven Hovind, Paul Hovind and Alan (Mary) Hovind; daughter, Linda (Robert) Brown; nine grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ole and Ida Hovind; brothers, Lawrence and Norman; and sisters, Helen, Bertha, Gladys and Ethyle.
Pallbearers were James, Steven, Paul, Alan and Norman Hovind and Theodore Brown.
Interment as at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Richard Jackson
Funeral service for Richard W. 'Rick' Jackson, 52, Andover, took place Aug. 3 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Cedar. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.
Jackson died July 31, 2006. He was born Aug. 25, 1953 in Minneapolis to William E. and Joan B. (Tesmar) Jackson.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah; daughters, Amy (Russ) Oberg and Laura Jackson; granddaughter, Annabelle Oberg; parents, Bill and Joni Jackson; brothers, Tom, Mike (Cindy), Jack (Sue), Billy (Connie) and Jim; sister, Debbie (Bob) Miller; numerous nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Donna Novak; and sisters-in-law, Judy (Jim) Norrgard and Sue (Todd) Lauck.

Todd Johnson
Funeral service for Todd Johnson, 43, Andover, took place July 26 at Horizons Community Church, Ham Lake. Rev. Jimmy Jones officiated.
Johnson died July 22, 2006 in a motorcycle accident. He was born May 5, 1963 in Golden Valley. He was a board member at Horizons Community Church and co-owner of Credisolve Co., Coon Rapids.
He is survived by his wife Heidi; daughters, Abbey (Benjamin) Harty and Emily Johnson; parents, Mary (Thomas) Fischer and Charles Johnson; brother, Dirk (Shannon) Johnson; sister, Cianna (Bryan) Johnson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Linda and Abdon Jerkovich; grandmothers, Santina Reese and Dorothy Jerkovich; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeffrey and Jill Potts; niece, Jordan and nephews: Joshua, Louden and Caden.
Pallbearers were Lance Dalbey, Jim Dokken, Mike Horsch, Dirk Johnson, Donnie Ogg and Josh Potts.

Lois Newton
Funeral service for Lois Newton, 78, Coon Rapids, took place July 29 at King of Glory Lutheran Church, Blaine. Rev. David Hintze officiated.
Newton died July 23, 2006 in Coon Rapids. She was born Aug. 6, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio, to Edgar and Anna Showers.
She is survived by her children, Arthur, Bruce (Denice), Albert (Lee), Thomas and Jeanne (Ken) Hugill; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Ed (Shirley); sister, Donna (Clair); and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar; mother, Anna; and husband, Arthur.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home.
