Jack Hiltz
Graveside service for Jack Roberton Hiltz, 81, Anoka, took place Nov. 14 at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Rev. Marilyn Evans officiated.
Hiltz died Nov. 9, 2005 at his home. He was born Feb. 24, 1924 in Lewiston to William Carl and Ruth Carrie (Henry) Hiltz. He was the retired founder/owner of Anoka Drafting Design Services.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; sons, Jeff (Marcie), Jim (Cindy), Tim (Rob-Lyn), Tom (Annette); grandchildren, Kristi, Brian, Doug (Ashley), Terri, Norma and Katie; sisters, Margaret Gustafson, Jeannette (Bob) Benolkin, Jean (Ralph) Cameron, Ruth (Bud) Brooks; sisters-in-law, Bev and Elizabeth Hiltz; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth; and brothers, Harold and Robert.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Quintus Hunter
Funeral service for Quintus S. Hunter, 82, Ramsey, took place Nov. 14 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Hunter died Nov. 10, 2005. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was retired from Unisys.
He is survived by his wife, Ilene; children, John (Vicki), Susan (Dale) Alzen and David (Alena); grandchildren, Sara, Thomas, Laura, Erin and Katherine; great-grandson, Edward; brother, Norman (Clara); and other relatives and friends.
Interment was at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Magda Hutson
Funeral service for Magda 'Maggie' Hutson, 63, Maple Grove, took place Nov. 14 at Church of St. Raphael, Crystal.
Hutson died Nov. 9, 2005. She was born May 25, 1942 to Ignac and Josephine Vidervol.
She is survived by her husband, George; daughters, Carrie Turner (Scott), Cindy Hatlestad (Troy); stepdaughter, Lisa Nelson (Todd); stepson, Todd Hutson (Debbie); grandchildren, Jamie, Erica, Kaytlin, Whittni, Brooke, Max, Jessica, Marco, Ana; great-grandson, Alex; sisters, Josephine Shirley (John) and Anna Meyer (Ron); and brother, Ignac Vidervol (Bev).
Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Harold Jacobson
Funeral service for Harold Elwood Jacobson, 63, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 17 at Grace Lutheran Church. Rev. Mark Hellmann officiated.
Jacobson died Nov. 14, 2005 at Mercy Hospital. He was born March 11, 1942 in Ellington Township to Eldred Joy and Helen Olea (Winje) Jacobson. He was a custodian in the Anoka-Hennepin School District.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Reed Weber, Renae Weber, Randy (Sue) Weber, Ramona (Dave) Girard; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jacob (Kelsey), Travis, Heather, Kaleb, Dylan, Sam, Christopher and Lauren; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Matteo; brothers, Orville (Hazel), Alan (Nancy), Stanley (Kathy), Erling (Alma) and Luther (Margaret); sisters, Aldora Draheim, Ruth Peterson, Rachel (Marvin) Siewert, Grace (Albert) Manthie, Gladys (Lyle) Robeck and Sharon (John) Lundberg; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Eldred and Helen Jacobson; and brother, Bernard Jacobson.
Pallbearers were Kenny Siewert, David Peterson, Brad and Craig Lundberg, Mark Jacobson and Darwin Manthie.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Gerald Lashinski
Funeral service for Gerald John Lashinski, 66, Ramsey, took place Nov. 15 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Terry Beeson officiated.
Lashinski died Nov. 12, 2005 at Mercy Hospital. He was born April 22, 1939 in Swan River Township to Albert Frank and Louise Agatha (Gwost) Lashinski. He was a retired machinist.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; son, Jeff (Christine); grandsons, Nicholas and Jeremy; brothers, Fred, Daniel, David and Gene; sisters, Bernice, Helen, Jeanette and Diane; and mother-in-law, Alice Kalas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Louise; brothers, Ray and Jim; sister, Irene; and father-in-law, Gordon Kalas.
Pallbearers were Rick and Paul Brezinka, Gary Wippler, Lloyd and Jason Lashinski and John McPherson.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Mildred Mead
Private family service took place for Mildred M. Mead, 94.
Mead died Nov. 10, 2005.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Holmer, Sylvia (Tom) Gamec; grandchildren, Bryan Holmer, Tami (Dave) Thompson, Steve (Karen) Gamec; and great-grandchildren, Cara and Nate Thompson, Dylan, Ryan and Justin Gamec.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Donald Palmer
Funeral service for Donald Otto Palmer, 79, Andover, took place Nov. 16 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Robert W. Burmeister officiated.
Palmer died Nov. 11, 2005 at his home. He was born May 15, 1926 in Minneapolis to Frans Otto and Elsa Elma (Antonson) Palmer. He was retired as operations director at Northland Electric Supply, Minneapolis, after 45 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, David (Jackie) Palmer, Jim (Jean) Vogel, Kim (David) Hanson, Scott (Rhonda) Palmer; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Rolland (Vivian) Palmer; and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Scott and Nick Palmer, Benjamin and Lauren Hanson, Emil Magnuson and Steven Frenzel.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Janet Ray
Funeral service for Janet E. Ray, 76, Blaine, took place Nov. 15, 2005 at Peace Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids.
Ray worked in the dental field for 55 years.
She is survived by her husband, William Sr.; son, Daniel; daughter, Linda Hanson (Dennis); stepson, William Jr.; stepdaughter, Kathleen Trost (Bob); grandchildren, Jacob and Gabriel; stepgrandchildren, Allison, Michael, Matthew, and Mark; two step-great-grandchildren; sister., Mildred Leisman (Clayton); and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Irene Reed
Memorial service for Irene Reed (Melberg), 80, formerly of Anoka, took place Oct. 29 in Tulsa, Okla.
Reed died Oct. 21, 2005 at Country Club Manor, an assisted living home in Tulsa. She was born Dec. 28, 1924 in Wyocena, Wis., and graduated from Anoka High School in 1942. Before her marriage she was employed by Fritch Department Store in Anoka.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Reed Baker; son John, W. Reed and wife Carol of Cabot, Ark.; a sister; and two grandchildren.
Interment was in Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery, Ark.
Czeslawa Sidelko
Funeral service for Czeslawa Sidelko, 80, Andover, took place Nov. 14 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Oak Grove. Rev. Rick Banker officiated.
Sidelko died Nov. 9, 2005 in Anoka. She was born Feb. 11, 1925 in Chorzow, Poland, to Czeslaw and Maria Hauffe. She was a retired manager in the toy industry.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Iwona and Stan Bury; grandsons, Adam and Wojtek Bury; granddaughter, Gosia (Chad) McGowen; and brother, Sylwek Hauffe.
Interment was at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
Evelyn Swing
Funeral service for Evelyn M. Swing, 95, Anoka, took place Nov. 17 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Mark Tiede officiated.
Swing died Nov. 13, 2005 at Park River Estates Care Center, Coon Rapids. She was born March 14, 1910 in Orrock Township, Sherburne County, to John and Esther (Peterson) Kurrasch. She was a retired operator for Bell Telephone/Qwest.
She is survived by her children, Rosetta (Herb) Benninger, Bernadena (Warren) Tompkins, Leon Swing, Fern (David) Soucy; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Jeanne Swing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; and son, Virgil.
Pallbearers were Jeremy and Joshua Donner, Matthew, Andrew and Levi LaRowe, Todd Swing and Michael, Keenan and Trae Davis.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Paul Jorgenson
Funeral service for Paul Jorgenson, 63, formerly of Cedar, took place Nov. 12 at Church of the Nazarene, Merrifield.
Jorgenson died Nov. 5, 2005 at home in Fifty Lakes. He was born April 15, 1942 in Regan, N.D.
He is survived by his wife, Florence; children, Bryan, Wade, Melissa, Jason and Stacie; stepchildren, Jerry, Dale, Lola and Rita; brothers, Clyde (Vicki) Donovan of Collinsville, Ill., Jim Donovan of Aurora, Ill., Roger (Elizabeth) Geist of Cedar; sister, Darlene (Duaine) Schilling of Turtle Lake, N.D; numerous nieces and nephews; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers.
Arrangements were by the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home.
