Ruth Swanson
Funeral services for Ruth Swanson, 80, Fridley, took place Nov. 5 at Grace Evangelical Free Church, Fridley. Revs. Stanley Starr and Robert Spencer officiated.
Swanson died Nov. 1, 2002 at her home. She was born July 25, 1922 in Rush City to Benjamin A. Tillman and Anna W. Danielson.
She is survived by her husband, Ken; children, Ciane (Dan) Splittstoser, Gary (Marjean), Bruce, Marilyn (Art) Schumacher; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were David and Dane Collins, Branden and Mark Swanson, Mark Schumacher and Terry Durheim.
Interment was at North Maple Ridge Covenant cemetery, Braham. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Alton Waldahl
Memorial services for Alton 'A' N. Waldahl, of Buffalo, formerly of Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 7 at Gearhart, Coon Rapids.
Waldahl died Oct. 30, 2002 at Park View Care Center, Buffalo. He was a retired machinist, a World War II veteran, a life member of the Sgt. John Rice VFW Post, Blaine, Sons of the Vets instructor, former scoutmaster of Troop 415, Coon Rapids, and a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources firearms safety instructor for 30 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Andrea (Bob) Pearson; son, Bruce (Cindy) Waldahl; grandchildren, Richard Neutz, SP 4 Nathaniel Waldahl, and Regina Waldahl; stepgrandchildren, Rebecca (David) Hull, John (Christa) Pearson and Dave (Karen) Pearson; four step-great grandchildren; sister, Harriet (Lloyd) Sundblad; halfsister, Romayne Grant; and half-brother, Lyle (Libby) Wolfgram.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris; parents; two half-brothers; a half-sister; and infant granddaughter, Carrie Jo Waldahl.
Interment was private at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart.
Corrine Bennett
Funeral services for Corrine J. Bennett, 75, Andover, took place Nov. 13 at First Baptist Church of Anoka. Rev. Abe Cardosa officiated.
Bennett died Nov. 7, 2002 at her home. She was born March 23, 1927 in Melrose to Clarence A. and Carla A. (Steenson) Froberg, and was farmer.
She is survived by her children, John and special friend Eileen Johnson, Bonnie Dehn and husband Robert Jr., Suzanne Malamen and husband Larry, Jannet Steffes and husband William, Bernice Humnick and husband Jaime; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Clarence Froberg and wife Lila, Bernard Froberg and wife Marilyn; and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Royce; and brothers, Kenneth and Robert Froberg.
Pallbearers were Bill and Debra Steffes, Thad Bennett, Jennelle Eisinger, Norah Beth Johnson and Joey Malamen.
Interment was at Champlin cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Floyd Bergstrom
Funeral services for Floyd G. Bergstrom, 72, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 7 at Faith Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. John Kerr officiated.
Bergstrom died Nov. 3, 2002 in Coon Rapids. He was born Aug. 7, 1930 in Minneapolis to Eric G. and Alva Bergstrom and was employed in auto body.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; daughters, Nancy (Tim) Allen, Janice (Tom) Gallagher; son, Douglas (Janice) Bergstrom; sister, Esther Dahlberg; and grandchildren, Matt and Leah Scofield, Laura Allen, Dan, Jenny and Jim Gallagher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eric and Alva Bergstrom; daughter, Karen; and sisters, Guvnor Swenson and Eivor Aronson.
Pallbearers were Doug Bergstrom, Matt Scofield, Tim Allen, Tom Gallagher, Bill Magaard and Leroy Johnson.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel.
Elizabeth Dahl
Funeral services for Elizabeth R. Dahl, 86, Anoka, took place Nov. 11 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Adrian Piotrowski officiated.
Dahl died Nov. 6, 2002 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Feb. 13, 1916 in Melrose to Philip W. Nardinger and Mary E. Neibauer.
She is survived by her children, Gerald (Lynn), Robert (Gail) and Karen (Reed) Marshall; grandchildren, Anna, Sara, Melissa and Michael Dahl, Samantha Marshall; and brother, Allen Nardinger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hans.
Pallbearers were Eugene and Mark Case, Melissa and Michael Dahl, James Dollimer and Raymond Wesp.
Interment was at Calvary cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Vicki Henry
Funeral services for Vicki K. Henry (nee Roderick), 48, Anoka, took place Nov. 12 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Jim Nicholas officiated.
Henry died Nov. 7, 2002. She was born April 24, 1954 in Minneapolis.
She is survived by her mother, Donna; husband, James; children, Kristine, Ginger, Steven and Jammie; grandchildren, Brandon, Miranda, Nicole and Chelsea; sisters, Lynda, Donna and Lorraine; brothers, Wayne and Mark; aunts and uncles; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lyman; biological father, Jack; and brothers, Jack and Rodney.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Mark Jarvi
Funeral services for Mark Richard Jarvi, 45, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 7 at Faith Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Valerie Brown-Greenly officiated.
Jarvi died at his home Nov. 3, 2002. He was born Jan. 8, 1957 in Minneapolis to Wilbert Arnold Jarvi and Sally Grace Mohelsky. He was employed in lithography/printing.
He is survived by his wife, Becky; children, Heather, James (JJ); parents, Wilbert and Sally; brothers, Philip (Connie), James (Jill), Paul (Steve); nieces and nephews, Cassandra, Andrea, Jordin, Jenna, John, Drew; parents-in-law, Hugh and Lila McFarlane; and brothers-in-law, Philip (Ardis) McFarlane and Brent (Barbara) McFarlane.
Pallbearers were Philip, James and Paul Jarvi, Mike Ubl, Brad Hoch and Bob Stwaski.
Interment was at Sunset cemetery, Moose Lake. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka Chapel.
Donna Johnson
Funeral services for Donna Johnson, 77, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 5 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.
Johnson died Nov. 1, 2002 in Coon Rapids. She was born Dec. 16, 1924 in Thief River Falls.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Troje; son, Steven (Jeanne); grandchildren, Michelle, Amy, Kelly and Shannon; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Anne, Casey, Paul, Erin and Chloe; brothers, Max (Yvonne) Jensen Jr.; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded on death by her husband, Harold; and grandson, Chad.
Interment was private at Epiphany cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Gwendolyn Knoll
Funeral services for Gwendolyn A. Knoll, 80, Anoka, took place Nov. 12 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.
Knoll died Nov. 7, 2002 at Camilia Rose Convalescent Center, Coon Rapids. She was born March 22, 1922 in Minneapolis to John and Adelle (Biersdorf) Haines. She was a retired lineworker for Cornelius Company.
She is survived by her son, Phil (Judy) Knoll of Blaine, Timothy (Bena) Knoll of California; daughters, Janice (Fred) Petersen, Susan (David) Waage, Charlote (Ray) Koon, all of Anoka, Annette (Kurt) Miller of Zimmerman; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Sharon) Haines of California; sisters, DeLores (Stanley) Knoll of Anoka, Joan Thies of Blaine, Donna Mitzel of St. Francis; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew.
Pallbearers were Michael Knoll, Kevin and Keith Petersen, David Jr., Steven and Brian Waage, Jaime Sevre, and Tom and Terry Cole.

Norman LaBelle
Funeral services for Norman J. LaBelle, 78, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 6 at Kingswood Church. Rev. Alan Goracke officiated.
LaBelle died Nov. 2, 2002 in Coon Rapids, He was born June 15, 1924 in Columbia Heights to Wilford and Theresa LaBelle.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; sons, Patrick (Dee), Bruce (Delaine); daughters, Linda (Ed) Dahlin, Kathleen LaBelle, Nancy (Philip) Brett, Denise (Michael) Sokoloski; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four sisters; and one brother.
Pallbearers were Pat, Bruce and Mike LaBelle, Ed Dahlin, Michael Sokoloski and David Carpentier.
