Born November 28, 1902 in Pontiac, the daughter of George and Daisy Bell (Delahanty) Metz. She married Lloyd S. Thornton and in 1939 the couple opened L.S. Thornton Plumbing & Heating Co., which they operated until 1967. After retirement they began construction on the Blue Water Beach Club on Anna Marie Island near Sarasota, FL and moved there in 1968. Over the years Marguerite helped many charites including The Jewish Asthmatic Center, Oakland County Boys School, Boys Town and The Holmes Beach Library in FL. Dear mother of Joyce R. Ellenberger of Conway, MI and the late Tom Bradley and Carol Ann Bradley Martoi. Grandmother of Joel H. and Matthew L. Frye of Levering, MI. Also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday at Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel of A.J. Desmond and Sons, 32515 Woodward (btwn. 13-14 Mile), 12 Noon until funeral service at 1:00 pm. Interment Ottawa Park cemetery.

TOBIN, PHILLIP, Age 88, March 11, 1999 in Naples, FL. Husband of the late Sylvia and predeceased by "Mickey" Tobin. AJLUNI, HANNA, Age 81. passed away March 14, after a month-long illness. Hanna Ajluni, the yougest son of Michael and Katrina Ajluni, was born in Ramallah Palestine in 1920. He was a senior city official there before emigrating with his family to Detroit in 1963 where he took over a family business, the Orient Tapestry Company, which provided employment for many family members until he retired. He was a leading member of the Palestinian community in North America which he was very active in the P.N.C. An inspired writer and devoted organizer, Mr. Ajluni served on various committees of the American Federation of Ramallah Palestine. At the time of his death he was senior editor of Hathihe Ramallah, a magazine devoted to maintaining ties among the Ramallah community in the United States and Palestine. A tribute to his many years of service to the magazine and community had been held in his honor March 9, 2002. Mr. Ajluni is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Hala (Khoury) and by his daughter Ghada (Robert) Russell of Chelsea Quebec, by his son Husam (Hanan Harb) and by his daughter Rula (Richard) Joseph. Mr. Ajluni is also survived by his 8 grandchildren. Visitation and services will be held from 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Sunday March 17, at St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church at 18100 Merriman Rd in Livonia. Funeral Services will be held Monday March 18, at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment Acacia Park cemetery. BRUHNS, JOHN W., Age 75, passed away March 14, 2002 in West Bloomfield, MI after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on Oct. 20, 1926 in Dayton, OH to the late William and Martha (Goldschmitz) Bruhns. He served in the U.S. Marines during WWII in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Marine Corp League. John married Therese Jordan on Aug. 21, 1948. He was a retired Detective Lieutenant of the Detroit Police Dept. He earned a Degree in Police Administration from Wayne State University and was a Director of the Police Academy at Macomb County Community College for 18 years and trained 8000 Officers. He retired to Albuquerque, NM and was a volunteer for AARP 55 Alive, National Atomic Museum Foundation and served as Ombudsman State of NM. He was a member of the International Police Association, Detroit Police Lieutenant & Sargeants Association, Retired Detroit Police & Fire Fighters Association, and Veteran of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the Catholic Church of Risen Savior in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Therese L. Bruhns, 5 children: Christine (Mike) Mills of Duquesne, PA, Cecelia (Jeff) Rohrbacher, Toledo, OH, Cynthia (David) Hawke of South Lyon, MI, Mark (Donna) Bruhns of Harrison Twp., MI, Claudia (Bob) Leonard of Silver City, NM, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
