She was a winter resident of St. Petersburg since 1988 and became a permanent resident of St. Petersburg in 1992. She was an avid golfer and ballroom dancer. LOWRIE, RICHARD E. "DICK" died December 5, 2000. Born October 2, 1922 on a farm in Springfield Twp. to Homer D. and Maude DeLisle Lowrie. He was the youngest in a family of seven children, Jeanne Murton, Mary Pickett and preceded in death by Keith (Hilda), Sarah Prevo, Donna Yerkey and Susan Smith. Dick attended Andersonville School, first through eighth grades and Clarkston High ninth through twelfth grades. He attended MI State College for one year; enlisted in the Naval Air Corps in 1942; graduated as an Ensign; was sent to Air Group 86 as a dive bomber pilot and later transferred to a fighter pilot flying an F6F Hellcat aboard the U.S.S. Wasp in the Pacific theater until the end of the war. Dick married Carolyn Carr (Carol) October 30, 1944 and had five children, Katherine (Gerald) Sebrowski of Royal Oak, Richard Jr. (Barbara) of Rochester Hills, Charles of Royal Oak, Thomas (Tami) of Clarkston and Jeannie (David) Mallett of AZ and ten grandchildren. He was president of John V. Carr & Sons, Inc. with its head office in Detroit, retired in 1983. Dick was a member of the Detroit Rotary, American Legion, Oakland Hunt Club and Scottish Rite of the Free Masons. Dick and Carol have resided in Clarkston since 1975. The family will receive friends at the Lewis E. Wint & Son TRUST 100 Funeral Home, Clarkston Thursday 3-5 and 7-9 PM followed by a funeral service at Friday 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Genesys Hospice. (www.legacy.com).
