McALEER, HOWARD JOHN age 85, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Marine City, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty and a daughter Gayle Barry. SHARF, RITA (nee Shantzer) Died on April 5, 2001 at her home in Bloomfield Hills after a long illness. She was a supporter of the American Cancer Society, and a member of Hadassah, the Meadowbrook Theater Board, a major supporter of Junior Achievement, and a member of the President s Club of Oakland University. Born on October 30, 1926 in Bielsko, Poland, Mrs. Sharf came to Buffalo, N.Y. in 1947. She married Stephen Sharf a retired executive vice president of Chrysler on June 17, 1951. Rita will be remembered by her many, many friends for her dignity, interest in people, and remarkable memory. Her love of life was reflected by the way she was loved by so many. SMITH, MARK E., Age 39 of Sarasota, FL died unexpectedly Thursday, April 5, 2001 in Sarasota. Formerly of Columbus, Ohio and Detroit, Michigan. Owner and Franchisee of several Domino s Pizza stores in the Sarasota and Naples, Florida area. Former Manager and Area Supervisor for Domino s Pizza in Columbus and Detroit. Former president of Domino s Franchisee and Owners Association. A 1980 graduate of Westerville (Ohio) North High School and attended the University of Dayton. Mark is survived by his former wife, Denise Smith of Sarasota; son, Mark, Jr. and daughter, Brianna; father, Charles Smith of Columbus; mother, Ann Heyadat of Columbus; sisters, Gabrielle Tammer of Columbus, Virginia (David) Huffman of Upper Arlington, Ohio, Ann Margaret Heiser of Louisville, KY; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jeannine and Joseph Zing of Tampa; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
