HAAG, BARBARA, Age 88 of Addison, formerly of Wyandotte, MI., died Thursday, March 12, 1998, at Provincial House. She was born April 6, 1909, in Crestline, OH to Stefan and Anna (Kothstein) Schira. She married Michael Haag on July 20, 1933, in Detroit, MI. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1950. Mrs. Haag had been employed by Fred Sanders, Inc., in Lincoln Park as a store manager, retiring in 1971. She was a member of St. Mary's on the Lake Catholic Church, the Addison Women's Club, and the Addison Senior Citizens. Her survivors include a son, George Haag and his wife, Pat, of Manitou Beach; seven grandchildren, Michael Haag, Carl Haag, Mark Haag, Ralph Matthews, Richard Matthews, Raymond Matthews, and Janet Matthews; five great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Michael, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John and George Schira, a daughter, Johanna Matthews, and a grandson, Robert Matthews. At Barbara's request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 21, 1998, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's on the Lake Catholic Church with Father Paul Grehl and Sister Helen Walling as celebrants. Burial of cremains will be in Mount Carmel cemetery in Wyandotte, MI. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.
