ILLY, EDSEL ARMAND, Age 79, died on November 13, 2000 at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn. Edsel Illy was a retired executive from the purchasing department of Cadillac Motors, where he had worked for 36 years. He was the founder and a member of the Cadillac Motors Purchasing Agents and Buyers Retiree Group. An avid golfer, he wintered in Tampa, Florida where he attended the Temple Terrance Community Church. He is survived by the two children of his deceased brother, A. Lester Illy. They are Richard Illy of Easton, Connecticut, Cheri Howlett of Somerdale, New Jersey and her children Jenny and Mandy Howlett. Friends are invited to join the family in honoring this wonderful man at a memorial service on Saturday, January 13th at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Dearborn, 600 North Brady Road. KERR, REV. ROBERT T. age 63 of Ypsilanti Twp., died suddenly January 9, 2001 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He was born February 16, 1937 in Detroit, the son of the late Ted and Rena Kerr. On January 6, 1964, Rev. Kerr was ordained as a Priest. He became pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ypsilanti in June of 1987. Survivors include two sisters, Anne Cross and Renee Sawson; six brothers, Thomas, Harvey, David, John, Michael and Paul; many nieces and nephews in addition to many great nieces and nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts including Sr. Cecile Thibodeau, SSJ, his St. Joseph Catholic Church family, Fellow Priests in the Diocese of Lansing and Archdiocese of Detroit. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harvey and Anna Thibodeau and Archibald and Agnes Kerr, and one brother in law, Mark Sawson. TYGARD, JOHN L. "LANK" Born Sept. 17, 1907. passed away Jan. 9, 2001. Beloved father of Lew Tygard; brother of Ken Tygard and Margarite Grow; Papa to five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Lank was a World War II veteran and a retired former flight school owner at Detroit City Airport. He was a member of the QB and OX5 Pilot Clubs. He also enjoyed Dixieland music.
