LENFESTEY, THOMAS R. "RAY" Age 84 of Cary, North Carolina, formerly of Rochester. Loving husband of the late Elise. Dear father of Elise A. (Dean) Murray, Barbara (Richard) Lowrie, Thomas R. (Marianne) Lenfestey, Jr. and Dr. Robert J. (Marion) Lenfestey. Grandfather of Katherine & Keith Lowrie, Bridget, Thomas III, Robert Jr., Laura, Donald & Amy Lenfestey. Ray served in the 42nd infantry of the Army Air Force in WWII. He was an active parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Cary, North Carolina and Rochester, Michigan. He volunteered at the OPC and Crittenton Hospital in Rochester and the Western Wake Hospital in North Carolina. He recently received the Paul Harris Fellowship from the Rotary of North Carolina. He had served as the Secretary of the living Rosary on Belle Isle in Detroit, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Prime Timers of Cary. POWELL, OLIVE S., 84, passed away Sunday January 2, 2000, while hospitalized in Sierra Vista, AZ. She was born June 17, 1915, in Ontario, Canada, to Minnie and Joseph Meloche. Olive became a U.S. citizen in 1946. She lived in Detroit, MI for over 50 years and briefly worked as a secretary at Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn. She moved to Arizona in 1997. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Percy Powell. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Riggs and two grandsons, Joshua and Aaron, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Windsor. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date. "Death is the veil which those who live call life: They sleep, and it is lifted."

Mrs. Spencer received the Liberty Bell Award for Outstanding Community Service from the Rochester Bar Association and The Greater Rochester Area Outstanding Citizen Award from the Rochester Chamber of Commerce in 1985. She studied as a Nurse Anesthetist at Hurley Hospital in Flint, Mich. and then practiced at Pontiac General Hospital for many years.
