Mrs. McElfresh was preceded in death by her husband William (1996) and a son Steven (1992). Surviving are three daughters, Meg (Rich) Park of Brighton, Judy (Bill) Malcolm of Ypsilanti, and Lori (Jim) Sly of Grand Blanc; two sons, John (Carol) McElfresh of Kalamazoo and Brian (La Donna) McElfresh of Canton, MI; nine grandchildren; one sister, Peggy (Jim) Montgomery; and two nephews, Mark and David Montgomery. Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 25, 2 p.m. at the Gorsline- Runciman Co. East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, (517-337-9745), with the Rev. Phil Rogers, Associate Pastor of Canton Community Church, Canton, MI officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen cemetery, Lansing. PANIC, STEPHEN M., M.D. Age 84 of South Bend, IN, passed away Friday morning, October 22. Born July 22, 1915 in Pittsburgh, PA to Stephen and Agnes (Yourkovich) Panic. He married the former Lynn Ernst in 1949 in Buchanan, MI, who survives along with his two sisters Lucille Vannier of Farmington Hills and Margaret Beamish of Birmingham. Also surviving are two nieces Denise Schulkins and Nancy Moorman, and two nephews John Beamish and Douglas Vannier. Dr. Panic practiced medicine in the Detroit area for 40 years, and the last 10 years as Medical Director with General Motors in Marion, IN before retiring. DOWNES, F. PATRICK, of Plymouth, 65, died October 20 surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Detroit in 1934, he graduated from St. Francis de Sales high school in 1952. He attended college at the University of Detroit, graduating in 1958 with a degree in accounting. He was, without question, the most dedicated and loving husband to his wife of thirty-four years, Sharon, who will miss him all the days of her life. He will always be remembered for the unparalleled love he had for his children, Patrick and Katherine, and daughter-in-law Ginger. His kindness, dedication to work as a contractor, concern for the community, and love for family and friends was unmatched.
