Beloved husband of Mary Ellen; father of two daughters; grandfather of two granddaughters and two grandsons. He was the owner of Cadillac Distributing of Cadillac MI and Mel Shane, Incorporated of Madison Heights, MI. He, also, was manager of Shane Steel Processing Company of Fraser, MI and Shane-Doverspike Steel Company of Detroit, MI. He was a life member of the Detroit Elks Lodge #34. He was born September 26, 1925, in Riverview, MI, the son of Carl and Ruth (Witt) Shoup Sr. Carl retired from Detroit Edison in 1981.
