MAR, ERNST, Age 83 of Lapeer, formerly of Waterford, died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at Lapeer Regional Hospital. He was born August 21, 1916 in Connecticut, son of Otto and Caroline (Stoyke) Mar. Ernst married Elizabeth Krueger on May 11, 1940, she preceded his death on April 17, 1987. He was a retired Tool & Die Maker, and owner of Acro Industries. Ernst was a Charter Member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Waterford. Surviving are three sons, Eric, living at home, Earl and wife Marsha of Unionville and Thomas of Auburn Hills, four daughters, Elaine and husband Rick Hastings of Seward, NB, Enid and husband Chuck Muhme of Milford, Evelyn Bardin of Winter Haven, FL and Elizabeth Ann Mar of Lake Orion. 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Also two sisters, Clara Kroll of Plaineville, CN and Natalie Janetzke of New Britian, CN, many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Elizabeth, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Eileen Mar.
