KERN, Rev. RUBIN, At Sarnia General Hospital on Tuesday, April 18, 2000. Age 89 of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. Rev. Kern was a graduate of Rochester Baptist Seminary, Rochester, NY 1941 and was ordained in 1941. He served as Pastor of North American Baptist Churches in Camrose and Calgary, AB, Vancouver, B.C., Forest Park, Ill., and Ridgewood, NY from 1941-1963, served as the Eastern Area Minister from 1963-1975. He retired in 1975 and served as interim pastor at several churches, enjoyed reading, gardening, travel, deer hunting and other outdoor activities. Rev. Kern was a member of Grosse Pointe Baptist Church, Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Beloved husband of Irma (Grapentin) Kern. Loving father of Harriet "Hari" Kern and her husband Ralph Edminster of East Lansing, MI and Margaret and her husband Frank Colavecchi of Elsie, MI. Dear grandfather of David Gerlach, Angela and Tony Colavecchi. Also survived by brother-in-law Egon Grapentin and many nieces and nephews.
