WINDRED, DOROTHY R., Of Grass Lake. passed away in Jackson on May 12, 2000. She was born in Detroit, August 10, 1905 to James W. White and Florence E. (Grieve) White. She was a member of the Federated Church of Grass Lake and a life member of the Eastern Star. She was a retired secretary with the State of Michigan after 21 years of service. HUNT, PATRICIA ELIZABETH AMO PAYSON of Royal Oak, Michigan, age 73. Died May 13 in William Beaumont Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Born June 5, 1927 in Royal Oak to Joseph and Elizabeth Amo, she graduated from Royal Oak High School and attended the University of California for two years. She married Alexander Perry Payson and they had two children when her husband died in 1955. After her second marriage to Marshall Hunt, of Brewster, MA, she became legally separated and returned to Royal Oak to live with her daughter in September 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Eleanor Dabney Payson, son-in-law Thomas Craig Janes, and grandson Perry Thomas Janes, all of Royal Oak; brother Richard Amo of Clarkston, Robert Amo of Ann Arbor; and sister Eleanor Amo of Springfield, VT; and many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Alexander Perry Payson, Jr., her brother Douglas Amo, and her parents. A memorial service Tuesday, May 15, at 1:00 PM, at, Congregational Church of Birmingham. Another memorial service and burial will be held in July in Bristol, R.I. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to: Silent Spring Institute, 29 Crafts Street, Newton, MA 02458.
