Roger Ross Miller, age 49, of Lime Creek Hwy., Hudson, Michigan passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at Toledo Hospital. He was born on September 3, 1954 to Rodney R. and Betty L. (Riley) Miller. He married Rose Marie Bernauer on October 29, 2001 in Toledo, Ohio and she survives.
Roger was employed at Wright Signs in Adrian, Michigan and enjoyed fishing, mechanical work and nature. He helped many people and dearly loved his family.
Surviving Roger besides his wife, Rose Marie Miller of Hudson, are his mother, Betty L. Miller of Deerfield, Michigan; two daughters, Christine (Tommy)Russell of Adrian and Elizabeth Miller of Hudson; one granddaughter, Trinity Russell; two sons, Jason Miller of Florida and Roger Miller Jr. of Hudson; two sisters, Susan (Gary) Raymond of Deerfield and Rebecca (Bob) Tripp of Hudson; two brothers, Rodney R. (Gale) Miller Jr. of Plano, Texas and Raymond "Randy" Miller of Deerfield; five step children, Shannon (Jamie) Stokes, Ebony Wilkins, Angela Wilkins, Billie Jean Wilkins and Glen (Mandy) Kime all of Canada; eight step grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney R. Miller Sr., two brothers, Charles and George Miller.
Visitation for Roger Ross Miller Sr. will be Sunday, May 30, 2004, at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson from 6 p.m until 9 p.m. There will be no funeral services. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.

Thomas M. Caskey, age 68, a former resident of Hillsdale, passed away April 30 2004 in Prescott, Arizona.
He is survived by his children, Greg Caskey of Holland, Michigan, Karen May of Ann Arbor, Layne Caskey of Ann Arbor, Janet Caskey-Patten of Hillsdale; and grand children, Michael Caskey, Jamie Caskey, and Derek May. He is also survived by his mother, Helen Caskey Womble of Prescott, AZ, and sisters Jeanne Rudolph of Bluffton, South Carolina, and Marjorie McGehee of Laguna Beach, California. There is a family memorial being planned for a later date. Arrangements by the Vanhorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.

Wanda J. Doty, age 83, of Hillsdale passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at W.A. Foote Memorial Hospital in Jackson. She was born January 10, 1921 in Paulding Co., Ohio to Joseph & Stella (Clark) Dunbar.
Wanda was manager at Bud's Hamburger in Hillsdale and was also a former dispatcher for Dial-A-Ride. Wanda graduated from Camden High School in 1939 and from Cleary Business College in Ypsilanti in 1942. She was a member of the Hillsdale Free Methodist Church, a life member of the Medical Care Facility Auxiliary and a member of the XYZ Club at the Free Methodist Church.
She was married in 1944 to Clyde Adams and he preceded her in death in 1974, she then married Herman Meek in 1979 and he preceded in 1985, she later married Wayne Doty in 1991 and he preceded her in death in 1995. Surviving is a daughter, Bonnie (Jim) McCosh of Hillsdale; step daughters, Mary Ewing and Doris (Bill) Dargen, both of Lansing, Joan Post of North Adams and Jane (Richard) Aube of Hillsdale; step sons, Walter (Mary) Adams of Sun City, Az and Phil (Karen) Doty of Hillsdale; grandchildren, Catherine (Carl) Chrzan, Joseph (Denise) McCosh and Richard McCosh; six great grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; sister, Norma Haywood of Piggott, Arkansas; brother, Harold (Bertha) Dunbar of Hillsdale.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Olive Barkey and Vivian Downs, brothers, Wilbur and Rex Dunbar, two step sons and a step daughter.
Funeral services for Wanda Doty will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Rev. Randy Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen cemetery in Ranson Twp. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Wayne Earl Long, age 96, formerly of Hudson, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2004, in Arlington, Ohio. He was born September 25, 1907, to James R. and Myrtie M. (Clark) Long. He married Irene Wright on October 28, 1978, in Coldwater, Michigan and she survives.
Wayne was a life long farmer. Wayne and Irene lived in Coldwater from 1978 to 1987. They moved to the Leffingwell Estates in Hudson in 1987 and moved to Arlington in 2001. Wayne was a member of Prattville Community Church and Lockwood Interdemoninational Church.
Surviving Wayne besides his wife, Irene of Arlington, Ohio are two step-daughters, Sharon (Philip) Klingler of Bryan, Ohio and Norma Riechard of New Carlisle, Ohio; one step-son, James (Joyce) Hamilton of Arlington, Ohio; one sister, Myrtle Gleason of Freemont, Indiana; 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; 30 great nephews and nieces, 57 great great nephews and nieces and 3 great great great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brothers and one niece.
Funeral services for Wayne Long will be Saturday, May 8, at 2:00 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson with Rev. Martin Bacalia officiating. Interment will follow in Waldron cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Bruce Wayne Goldsmith, age 67, of Hartley Road, Waldron, Michigan passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at Charlotte Stephenson Manor in Adrian, Michigan. He was born November 26, 1936 in Adrian, Michigan to Isaac and Rose (Ross) Goldsmith. He married Jan Good on September 17, 1955 in Alvordton, Ohio and she survives.
Bruce was employed at Michigan Milk Producers in Adrian for 27 years and retired in 2001 from Herbson Manufacturing in Montpelier, Ohio. He enjoyed hunting and dearly loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
Surviving Bruce besides his wife, Jan of Waldron are three daughters, Rose Lee of Red Level, Alabama, Peggy Goldsmith of Waldron, Michigan and Vicky Gary of Jasper, Michigan; two sisters, Doris (Earl) Whitehead of Sand Creek, Michigan and Lynda (Ernie) Stangle of Turner Station, Kentucky; one brother, Orville (Phyllis) Goldsmith of Roscommon, Michigan; eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Memorial services for Bruce Goldsmith will be Saturday, June 12, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Open Door Bible Church in Hudson with Rev. Rick Bloom officiating. Private interment will be in Waldron cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 11, 2004 from 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.

Kenneth Ivan Lauder, age 83, of Hillsdale, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. On March 22, 1921 in Wright Twp., Michigan, he was born the son of Ivan Brecht and Adeline Julian. Kenneth was raised by mother Julian and his foster father, Frank Lauder.
Kenneth was a graduate of Pittsford High School in 1940. He then worked for the Kroger Co. for 34 years, retiring July 27, 1979. He enjoyed baseball and family reunions.
Surviving Kenneth are 2 sisters, Donna L. Gates of Cheboygan, MI, and Meg (Tony) Fowler of Osseo; 3 nieces, Marcia (Wayne) Gates, Cynthia (James) Scoggin and Kathryn (Scott) Grubbs; and one nephew, Michael Gates.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Carl Lauder, and a brother-in-law, Russel Gates.
The funeral service for Kenneth I. Lauder will be Saturday, June 19, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Rev. Clyde Wonders officiating. Interment will follow in the Lickley Corners cemetery in Wright Twp. Visitation will be held Friday, June 18, 2004 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 19, 2004 from 10:00-11:00 a.m.

MARTHA J. MOORE
Martha J. Moore, age 67, of Tamarack Rd., Pittsford, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at her home. She was born March 28, 1937 in Fayette, Ohio to Harold and Geneva (Kline) Huntley. She married Bruce Moore on March 27, 1970, in Fayette, Ohio and he survives.
Martha was previously employed at Fayette Tubular and Peters Stamping both of Fayette, Ohio. She enjoyed gardening and garage sales.
Surviving Martha besides her husband, Bruce of Pittsford are one daughter, Diane (Dick) Storehalder of Waldron; three sons, Randy and Ron Morrison both of Fayette and Steve Morrison of Pittsford; two sisters, Marilyn (LaVon) Campbell of Fayette and Janet Crisenbery of Flippin, Arkansas; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, H. Eugene Huntley and one nephew, Douglas Crisenbery.
At Martha's request private funeral services and visitation will take place at Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette, Ohio. Interment will be at Evergreen cemetery in Ransom Twp. at a later date.

Charles W. Spiteri, age 88, of Hillsdale, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2004 at his home. He was born October 31, 1915 in Hillsdale to John & Rose (Montalban) Spiteri.
Charles was the co-owner and operator of the Spiteri Shoe Store in Hillsdale. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII, participating in major engagements on New Guinea in the South Philippines, Luzon and Ryukyus, he earned the American Theater Service ribbon, the Good Conduct medal, the Philippine Liberation ribbon and two bronze stars. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the St. Anthony's Men Club, the Hillsdale Elks Lodge # 1575, the D.A.V., and Chuck was an avid golfer.
He was married April 18, 1943 in Reno, Nevada to D. Marie Cosby and she survives in Hillsdale. Also surviving are two daughters, Lynda (Dan) Peters of Concord and Suzanne Spiteri of Hillsdale; a son, John (Robin) Spiteri of Hillsdale; a sister, Fronza Reiniche of Horton; four grandchildren, Melissa & Michael Peters, Adrianna & Derek Spiteri; also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
There will be a mass of christian burial on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hillsdale with Fr. Robert Afful as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Anthony cemetery. There will be a prayer vigil service on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.

Doris J. (Little) Engle, age 72, of Jonesville passed away, Thursday, July 29, 2004 at her home. She was born March 29, 1932 in Pioneer, Ohio to John & Ruth (Estes) Little. On April 17, 1953 she married Lynn Engle in Litchfield and he survives.
Doris has lived the majority of her life in Jonesville. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and she was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Litchfield.
Doris is survived by her husband Lynn, 3 daughters; Ruth Engle of Jonesville, Linda Engle of Jackson, and Sandy (Mark) Smith of Greenville, Ohio; 1 son Lynn (Connie) Engle of Napoleon, MI; 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; 1 sister, Mary Ladd of Jonesville; 2 brothers, John Little of Jonesville, and Russell Little of Lansing.
She was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
The funeral service for Doris Engle will be held Monday, August 2, 2004 @ 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Jonesville with Pastor Brent Stille officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset View cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, July 31, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Donna Suzanna Fix, age 79, of Waldron passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born July 22, 1924 in Waldron, Michigan to Frank and Majorie (Grupp) Bernath. She married Irvin Edward Fix on March 13, 1947 in Angola, Indiana and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1977.
Donna was a life long Waldron area resident. She was employed at Pioneer Transformer for over ten years and graduated from Waldron High School in 1942.
Surviving Donna are three daughters, Barbara (Russell) Ash of Ransom, Michigan, Joann Dunning of Pittsford, Michigan, and Nancy Fix of Waldron; four sons, Michael (Carol) Fix of Waldron, Warren (Debbie)Fix of Waldron, Thomas (Wanda) Fix of Camden, and Scott (Cherrie) Fix of Waldron; 17 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister, Verna Bernath.
Graveside services for Donna Fix will be Friday, July 9, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen cemetery in Ransom Township with Rev. Robert Myers officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Waldron.
