Carmon R. Ward, Sr., age 69, of Erie, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 31, 2004 at his home. He was born January 19, 1935, in Toledo, Ohio to Gene and Fern L. (Stevens) Naegelen. He married Sue Erdman on November 5, 1957 in Covington, Kentucky and she survives.
Carmon was a former Pittsford area resident and graduated from Burnham High School in Sylvania, Ohio. He was was employed at Daimler Chrysler Jeep for over 20 years and was a member of Cathedral of Praise Church in Sylvania, Ohio and enjoyed fishing, hunting and roller blading.
Surviving Carmon besides his wife, Sue Ward of Erie, Michigan are two daughters, Deborah L. (Reed) Frank of Pittsford, Cheryl "Chay" (Ron) Feasel of Arcadia, Ohio; two sons, Carmon R. (Bonnie) Ward Jr. of Osseo, Michigan and David (Sheri) Ward of Pittsford; two brothers, James Ward of Eustis, Florida and Rick (Donna) Naegelen of Ocala, Florida; 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, E.O. Ward and twin sisters, Dorothy Buser and Doris Reuss.
Funeral services for Carmon Ward will be Sunday, June 6, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson with Rev. Doug Plunkett officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until service time.

Dr. Ralph Herbert Benedict D.V.M., age 90, of Hillsdale, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at the Hillsdale Community Health Center. He was born July 31, 1913 to Rev. Milton & Grace (Fairchild) Benedict.
Dr. Benedict was a resident most recently of Country Living and a long time resident of Lake Wilson in Hillsdale. He was a veterinarian practicing in Jonesville and the state of Washington. He was also a federal meat inspector in Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin. Herb was crippled with polio as a youngster and although being disabled, he was an active veterinarian and gardener. Hosta Hillside at Hidden Lake Gardens in Tipton is named in he and his wife Dorothy's honor. He has a honorary life member of the American and Michigan Hosta Society. He is world renown for his hosta, primrose and crested fern propagation and hybridization.
He was married Aug. 9, 1936 to Dorothy Frazeur and she preceded him in death August 4, 2002. He was also preceded by brothers, Earl Milton and Ellis LeRoy.
Surviving are two brothers, Doyle (Katie) Benedict of Jonesville and Keith (Jean) Benedict of Evansville, Indiana.
Cremation has taken place. Private memorial services will take place at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Colleen A. Osburn, age 51, of Washington St., Hudson, Michigan passed away Friday, January 30, 2004, at her home. She Was born February 4, 1952 in Hudson to Leo "Curly" and Dorothy (Durling) Meredith. She married Dana Osburn on September 25, 1970 in Hudson and he survives.
Colleen was a life long Hudson area resident. She was employed at Merillat Industry's corporate office in Adrian, previously owned and operated Interior Views Inc. in Onsted, was an auditor, security and compliance officer at Thompson Savings Bank in Hudson and served as Branch Manager for American 1 Federal Credit Union in Hillsdale. She graduated from Hudson Area High School Class of 1970, was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an associate member of the Hudson Child Study Club and past chairman of the Hudson Mothers March of Dimes.
Surviving Colleen besides her husband, Dana Osburn of Hudson, are three sons, Andrew (Lisa) Osburn of Pleasant Lake, Michigan, Jamie Osburn of Grass Lake and PFC Justin Osburn of Camp LeJune, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Kacy, Tyler, Noah, and Aaron; her mother, Dorothy Meredith of Hudson; two sisters, Nadine (Ron) Klebba of Harbor Beach, Michigan and Elaine (Mike) Dew of Saline, Michigan; four brothers, Tom (Judy) Meredith of Jackson, Charlie (Chris) Meredith of Las Vegas, Nevada, Dennis and Doug Meredith both of Hudson; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
Memorial services for Colleen A. Meredith will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hudson with Fr. Richard Eberle as celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary cemetery in Hudson. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.

Gladys A. Givin, age 98, of Irene Court, Fayette, Ohio passed away Saturday, May 15, 2004, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. She was born December 15, 1905, in Hillsdale, Michigan to Charles and Maude (Sanford) Graham.
Gladys retired from Thorn Hospital in Hudson as a nurse in 1972 after 22 years of service. She was a graduate of Fayette High School Class of 1923, member of Fayette Christian Church and treasurer for Eastern Star for many years.
Surviving Gladys are two sons, Wilbur (Lillian) Givin of San Jose, California and Richard (Dolores) Givin of Woodridge, New Jersey; five grandchildren and four step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Leslie Graham.
Funeral services for Gladys A. Givin will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at the Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette, Ohio with Rev. Mary Jo Bray officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Union cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with an Eastern Star service at 6:30 p.m.

Florence L. Keiser, age 92, formerly of Jonesville and Hillsdale, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at Hillside Country Living in Bryan, Ohio. She was born November 7, 1911 in Montpelier, Ohio to Charlie & Carrie (Wirick) Traxler.
Florence was co-owner and operator of Farm & Home Real Estate in Hillsdale. She was a graduate of West Unity High School, she had been a resident of Country Living since 2001, and a former resident Jonesville and Hillsdale the majority of her life. She was a member of the Hillsdale First United Methodist Church, the Hillsdale Women's Club and life member of the O.E.S., Winona Chapter # 162 of Hillsdale.
She was married July 19, 1931 to Russell Keiser and he preceded her in death September 10, 2000. Surviving is a son, David (Cindy) Keiser of Lake Orion, Michigan; sisters, Alice Tressler of West Unity, Ohio, Donna King and Janet Lee, both of Montpelier, Ohio; brothers, Peter Traxler of Montpelier and Charles Traxler of Toledo. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Irene Fauver.
Funeral services for Florence Keiser wil be Friday, June 4, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Rev. Linda Carter officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove cemetery in Hillsdale. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 3, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Helen L. Glaser, age 83, of Morenci Rd., Morenci, Michigan passed away Thursday, May 20, 2004 at Bixby Medical Center in Adrian, Michigan. She was born April 8, 1921 in Fayette, Ohio to Albert and Flora (Grime) Merillat.
She married Norman E. Glaser on November 15, 1944 in Fayette, Ohio and he preceded her in death on November 3, 1993.
Helen was a self employed bookkeeper at Glaser's Body Shop. She was a member of Morenci United Methodist Church, United Methodist Womens Group and served as a trustee for many years. She enjoyed yard work, gardening, quilting and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving Helen are three daughters, Diana (Doyce) Rupp of Morenci, Norma (Dennis) Shoemaker of Morenci and Sheila Wollet of Sylvania, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Tina (Brad) Double, Matthew (Brenda) Rupp, Shanda (Corey) Borck, Brian and Gregory Shoemaker, Amy (Vance) Lewis and Travis Wollet; eight great grandchildren, Darian, Drew and Dominique Double, Blake, Flesia and Ethan Borck, Brieanna and Hayleigh Lewis; one sister, Gladys (Valde) Randall of Fayette and one brother, Lowell (Barb) Merillat. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and six brothers.
Funeral services for Helen L. Glaser will be Saturday, May 22, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci with Rev. Dorothy Okray officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove cemetery in Morenci. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Harold W. Irving, age 98, of Osseo, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2004 at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. He was born in Branch County Michigan on November 21, 1905 to John and Ella (Farver) Irving.
Harold was a Chief Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army where he retired in 1954 after serving his country for 30 years. He served in World War II and received the Victory Medal, Army Occupational Medal(Germany) National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the 350 1st Infantry Regiment called the Blue Devils Stationed in Trieste, Spain.
Harold was a member of the Ransom Congregational Church, was a Deacon in the church for many years, Boy Scout leader, member of Hillsdale Co. Farm Bureau, served on the Jefferson Township board of review, life member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners, salesman for DeKalb seed corn, a rural mail carrier in Osseo, and a fifty year member of the American Legion.
Harold was married to Nila Densmore on October 8, 1938, she preceded him in death in 1960. On October 8, 1961 he married Bernice Wise she preceded in 1983. He was also preceded in death by two stepsons, Richard and Robert Shay, three sisters, two brothers, and a granddaughter Heather Irving.
Harold is survived by a daughter, Diana (Willie) Betzer of Osseo; one son, Dennis (Gwen) Irving of Crossville, Tennessee; a sister, Chloe Foust of Litchfield; and brother Robert Sowle of Jonesville; four grandchildren, Shelly McKibbin, Casey and Tracie Elliott, and Kurt Rockfellow; two greatgrandchildren, Kelsey McKibbin, and Ethan Elliott.
Funeral services for Harold Irving will be held Wednesday June 2, at 11:00 a.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale, with the Rev. Audrey Towne officiating. Interment will follow at the Maple Grove cemetery in Jefferson Township. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

John J. Kuenzer, age 77, of Dillon Hwy., Hudson, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 31, 2004 from a massive stroke at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. He was born October 15, 1926 in Arcadia, Michigan to John S. and Florence (Bluntschley) Kuenzer. He married Frances Ann Hartley on June 17, 1961 in Hudson, Michigan and she preceded him in death on July 6, 2002.
John was a life long farmer and retired from Tecumseh Products in 1989 after 24 years of service. He was a U.S. Army WW II Veteran, member of Hudson American Legion Hannan Colvin Post #180, Waldron V.F.W. Post #5191, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Hudson Knights of Columbus Bishop E. Donnelly Council #3221. John dearly loved his children, grandchildren and enjoyed collecting toy tractors.
Surviving John are two daughters, Joanne (Robert) Mosson of Brooklyn, Michigan and Mary (Tim) Neff of Ann Arbor, Michigan; three sons, John (Denise) Kuenzer of Dayton, Ohio, James (Nancy) Kuenzer of Hillsdale, Michigan and Bob (Connie) Kuenzer of Clayton, Michigan; two brothers, Lyle (Donna) Kuenzer of Las Vegas, Nevada and Frank Kuenzer of Mississippi and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one granddaughter, Trisha Mosson, one sister and three brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial for John J. Kuenzer will be Thursday, June 3, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Eberle and Fr. H. Paul Ruddy as celebrants. Interment will follow at Calvary cemetery in Hudson, Michigan. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.
